Barn find auction a highlight

It's back! One of the first big regular shows to make a post-covid appearance is the Adelaide Auto Expo at the Adelaide Showgrounds on November 12 and 13.

The Expo includes events such as the Dream Car Garage, Elite Show Cars, Show 'n' Shine, Hot Rod Show,  Trader Alley, Tuff Street, the Aussie Classic and Muscle Car Cruise and the Zippel Cruise.

A highlight will be the Unique Cars Affordable Barnfind Auction hosted by Mason Gray Strange auctions and show organiser Geof Tartoosie. "We like to keep the barn find auction affordable, so if somebody spots the car for them they can pay for it on their credit card. It's not for hugely expensive toys," he says.

"Vehicles range from pristine, dry stored original machines with original paintwork, interior, and driveline, to ‘farm-fresh’, patina-laden machines that are covered in dust and mother nature, ready and waiting to be turned into a project."

Bidding can be done at the event or online at the MGS website. A few of the gems to go under the hammer include an XT Ford Falcon, Holden Gemini station wagon, a Datsun 180B SSS coupe, a Toyota Crown with everything that opens and shuts, a JB Starion and an ex Police VK V8 pursuit car.

The Expo opens Friday November 12 at 5pm and again on Saturday November 13 from 10am to 8pm. The auction happens on Saturday, from 4.00pm.

Tickets are $25 for adults and kids under 13 are free and they get a Hot Wheels car as well. They can be obtained at the gate or online through Eventbrite Australia. See adelaideautoexpo.com.au.
