Video: Twin-engined Mini reader build

Taking on a restoration is a big job at the best of times - but adding an extra engine?! That's a whole new level...

Sitting around the shed with a little time to spare can be a dangerous thing. Particularly if you have some engineering skills, no understanding of the term ‘impossible’ and a rather sad-looking Mini sitting on the floor.

That’s the situation Aussie restorer Chris Britten found himself in. Inspired by twin-engine Minis of the past, he decided to engineer his own and came up with what we reckon is a better mousetrap. This one, unlike its predecessors, retains the back seat. In fact, it looks very standard (until you open the boot!) and involves some very clever thinking.

You can see our full feature here – in the meantime enjoy the sights and sounds of the Twini in action and meet the builder.
