Valiant VH Pacer tribute – today’s auction tempter

Big V8 cruiser

There’s something about late Chrysler Valiants that inspires a certain amount of awe – put it down to the size and having a bonnet you could land a Cessna on.

While the prices of the really high-end Aussie cars are looking like telephone numbers, there is still some decent buying out there. For us, this 1971 VH Valiant could fall into that category.

It’s been done up as a Pacer replica, complete with jelly bean mags. Under the bonnet is a 360ci (5.9lt) V8 with three-speed auto.

This is very much a one-off build and the condition report suggests it could do with a little TLC to bring it up to scratch.

Shannons has it for auction with an estimate of $30-40,000.
