Humble family sedan looks a bit special
It’s no secret that Australian family cars from the 1960s and 70s are gaining a huge amount of interest in the collector market, though their age can raise all sorts of interesting issues.
Rust is of course the big killer, as are unsympathetic modes over time or, far worse, neglect.
So it’s not often we see an AP5 Valiant Regal that looks reasonably fresh, straight and original. It is, after all, over 60 years old.
The owners claim it has the books and service history from new, along with niceties such as the toolkit it was sold with.
Obviously a car this age – they were built 1963-65 – will need to be checked over carefully.
If it’s as good as it looks, it’s a bit of a rarity and would be pretty easy to live with.
It’s running a slant six and manual transmission, and is for sale in Queensland for $26,500.
