1941 Plymouth P12 Woodie – $85,000
Remember the movies set in Hawaii in the 1940s and ’50s, with convertible coupes and woodies scattered everywhere? If you want to relive those great days or love motoring nostalgia from this era, this right-hand drive Plymouth may tickle your fancy. It’s quite a rare model, has been much loved and always garaged. It’s not a trailer queen though. It’s a solid example of a great cruiser, recognised for its strong, and for the day, powerful six-cylinder engine and three-speed gearbox. The original wood is in fine fettle and still wears the Cantrell Company decal, festooned to the interior door post. The Firestone whitewalls finish it off nicely.

1989 SVD Skyline R31 RTS – $38,000
Want a Series 2 Skyline GTS with the name Skaife as the original owner? Here it is. But it’s not the race driver; it is his mum. It was her car! These GTS Skylines were developed by Nissan factory racers Mark Skaife and Jimmy Richards and resulted in a fast, beautifully-balanced and engaging car to drive. They started life as a Skyline Silhouette with the meaty straight-six, eking out 147kW and a five-speed manual – as is the case here – though this one started life with an auto. A pair of Scheel seats up front keep you snug and with only 200 made, this is build number 63. A genuine, and affordable Aussie classic.

1960 Chevrolet Impala – $199,900
When I was a young fella, my mates and I used to pedal to the local car dealers and stare at the crammed showrooms of shiny Aussie metal. Back then the used-car lots were brimming with uninspiring English tin or huge finned monsters from the States. I loved that era of cars that were large enough to warrant their own postcode and the fins so big, a Cessna could land on them. They still catch my eye today and this 1960 Chevy Impala coupe, sporting a 348ci V8, sure did. This original and rare example looks in fine fettle and has power brakes and air-con as well. One look takes me back to my youth. Just stunning.
