2022 Market Review - Toyota MR2/MR-S/Sera/Paseo 1986-2002
Look to the future, when recreational vehicles will need to be compact and economical, and something from this grouping will still be viable. All MR2s – OK, excluding the MR-S – are regarded as miniature Ferraris and that imagery has helped their appeal to new generations.
Values have climbed rapidly as well, with early AW11s up by about 50 percent and some versions of the 1990-97 W20 series more than doubling their values of five years ago.
Gull-wing Seras weren’t sold new in Australia, but lots were imported during the 1990s and a few survive. The Paseo did sell here but isn’t common either.
Good ones cost very little and are attractive entry-level cars for younger enthusiasts.
