2022 Market Review - Toyota Crown/Cressida/Caldina 1964-2006
Toyota during the 1960s debuted its well-equipped Crown and would sell the flagship model here until 1985.
Production didn’t stop though and today we see an influx of Japanese-spec Crowns with V8, turbo six-cylinder or even Hybrid engines. Early Australian-delivered cars in good condition cost around $12,000 and you can have a newish one as daily transport for $20,000.
Should you want to emulate Royalty, the massive Century sedan is also available in significant numbers but does cost Rolls-Royce money. 1982-95 Cressidas once were very cheap and headed for extinction, however excellent cars now generate $12-15,000 have encouraged more vendors to bring their cars out of hiding.
