Hardtop Coronas and AE86 Sprinters are in big demand.
Toyota Corolla/Corona 1964-86 – 2018 market review
It has taken an awfully long time but the money being paid for early Coronas has finally begun to improve.
The population of pre-1978 cars has dwindled dramatically and prices have jumped to twice their 2013 level.
The exceptions are 1960s-70s Corona Hardtops which are scarce and can manage $30,000.
Early Corollas are in demand and remain close to $10,000.
Rear-wheel drive models from the 1970s-80s generally cost $4000-6500 but again there’s an exception.
The AE86 Sprinter was a super-quick rally car when new and has now acquired a following among ‘drift’ enthusiasts.
Surviving Australian cars have jumped in price, inspired it seems by the inflated money being sought in Japan for Levin versions.
