Relive your ill spent youth, but this time in the driver’s seat!
For sale is a 1979 CM Valiant sedan originally used as a SA Police car. Built August 3, 1979, this CM Valiant is 1 of 194 Police Blue CM Valiants that served in the SA Police Force. One of 20 in this exact specification, the Valiant is in totally original condition except for a closed-door respray 20 years ago.
The CM Valiant features an E44 318 V8 engine, C16 floor-shift automatic with console and the K14 Police Pack. The K14 option pack includes Heavy Duty Brakes, Heavy Duty Battery, Reclining Bucket Seats, Heavy Duty 55 AMP Alternator, the Maximum Cooling Package which includes increased capacity radiator and fan, special Police instrument panel and front sway bar.
With a genuine 137,965km from new, the CM Valiant features the original Satin Parchment trim in very good condition with wear to the driver’s seat bolster. The current owner of three years has recently fitted a power steering unit to the CM that was sourced from a CM Regal. The CM is also fitted with Pacemaker headers and exhaust system, and a Gas Research fuel system that has been certified less than 12 months ago. The gas system uses the original fuel filler so there are no holes drilled in the body and the owner has fitted a Charger quick-release fuel cap.
Enlisted in the SA Police Force from August 1979 until late 1980, the Valiant was then on-sold to the public with only two owners since. This is a hard to find rust-free example that has had a full driveline rebuild at 112,721km and is supplied with a huge receipt file of mechanical servicing over the years. The Valiant is also supplied with a Valiant Infobase Verification letter showing the selling dealership and options fitted to the car.
A rare Valiant and historically significant as a South Australian Police car, this Valiant is a sure hit with Chrysler Valiant collectors and enthusiasts. The Valiant CM Police Car is located in Mill Park, Melbourne and is available for your inspection. (Ref. 6562)
