2022 Market Review - Suzuki 1974-1999
If you want an affordable classic, especially one that will deal with confronting terrain, then Suzuki is your brand. For around-town commuting and economy, a Mighty Boy or X90 will do the job and cost less than $10,000 but there is even more choice for the dedicated off-roader.
Older readers might remember the two-stroke LJ50 and LJ80 4WDs, both of which seem to survive in decent numbers and cost more than the later Sierra or Vitara. Still in the practical zone we find the tiny Carry which is available as a van or pickup but cost more than a lot of full-sized ute.
Swift GTi hatchbacks were once touted as the ‘modern Mini Cooper’ but hardly any survive. Similar in size but dearer is the Cappuccino convertible which maintains collector appeal.
