Something for everyone - so long as it was from the USA!
It may sound cliched, but there really was something for everyone at today’s show – from a smattering of vintage cars, to giant Cadillac and Lincoln land yachts, through to the very rare and unusual, such as a supercharged Studebaker Avanti.
Held at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, and formerly known as the All American show, the gig pulled several hundred cars in a setting that encouraged hanging around and spending a bit of time browsing.
Run by the Association of Motoring Clubs, it tried as far as possible to organise entrants into marque groups, so you could get to see all sorts of weird and wonderful variants alongside machines that shared a production line.
