Porsche began development of turbocharging on their race cars during the late 1960s, and in 1973 began work on a turbocharged version of the 911. They originally needed to produce the car in order to comply with homologation regulations and had intended on marketing it as a street legal race vehicle like the 1973 Carrera 2.7 RS. As with many cars in history the race regulations changed during this period meaning 500 Turbos had to be produced to homologate the model so the 911 Turbo was put into production in late 1974. While the original purpose of the 911 Turbo was to gain homologation for the 1976 racing season, it quickly became popular among car enthusiasts. The next stage was to intercool the turbocharger and increase the engine capacity to 3.3 litre in 1978 producing a powerful 300 bhp and making the car much more drivable compared to the earlier model which suffered from turbo lag. This lovely 1979 example was supplied by Maltin motors and had the popular specification of silver metallic, electric sunroof, air con and full leather interior. She has been cherished and well maintained including a bare metal repaint in 2006 costing several thousand pounds, gearbox rebuild and all work is itemised in the comprehensive history file which includes all handbooks ,stamped service book, all mots and service invoices. On the road these 911s are staggering especially for a 1970s car and despite using a strong 4 speed gearbox which was capable of handling the power they are very useable and lots of fun whether cruising or on quick cross country trips. Supplied fully inspected, serviced with 12 months warranty.

After the success of the DB range in the late 1960s Aston Martin had to update and create a car suitable for the 1970s but unlike many of its rivals they managed to design a stunning car. With the DB S range which included the ubiquitous 6 cylinder engine but also offered the race designed V8 engine for the first time. After the success of the Coupe inc. many celebrity and film appearances the Volante was released to an eager market in 1978 and was without question the King of the Supercar convertibles with its magnificent engine and 5 second 0-60mph time! This stunning Volante was the second rhd car produced for the UK market the first being for the MD of Aston and lived in Jersey for its first 10 years then moving back to the mainland its next owners included the famous newspaper businessman Eddie Shah who purchased her in 1995 and during his ownership in 1998 the engine was enhanced at great expense to Vantage V580 specification inc the correct exhaust etc. at a cost of £26000 at the Stratton motor company an Aston dealer authorised to carry out this work by the factory. The engine has only covered around 38000 miles since this work and is amazingly powerful with its Weber carbs complimenting the soundtrack of the quad cam masterpiece. This is a matching numbers rare manual gearbox car offered for the first time in 14 years and has an amazing history file including early service records, all mot certification, invoices for all work carried out inc engine upgrade at Aston dealers and specialists inc. Hard to believe that Giugiaro designed the Esprit over 45 years ago and was in production for an amazing 30 years finishing as the V8 in 2004. It was a stunning car well received by the motoring press and enthusiasts alike and its showing in the James Bond movie The spy who loved me put it on the world map especially as it doubled as a submarine in the film! This is an S2 example launched in 1978 and with only 1000 built a very rare version of this iconic car. Finished in Gloss black, from new with Magnolia leather it is undoubtedly one of the best looking Esprits and still exciting today. A comprehensive restoration has been carried out within the past 5 years which included engine rebuilt to 2.2 spec (better power than the original 2 litre) gearbox, wiring, suspension, brakes, stainless steel exhaust, galvanised chassis and of course a very high-quality body/paint refinish looking better than in 1979. The history file is very comprehensive with invoices dating back to the 1980s to date, mots, handbooks, and of course more recent work carried out. Sometimes these cars are economically restored and it really shows but this one is a different quality with great attention to detail down to underside, engine bay interior etc. On the road, the Esprit really impresses with under 1000 kg and a throaty twin cam engine providing an exciting drive with one of the most balanced chassis of all time Supplied fully inspected, serviced with 12 months warranty.

Final editions of the Silver Shadow were much improved and developed with rack and pinion steering, better suspension etc. Even the impact bumpers suited the bodywork and they were fine cars and sought after by captains of industry, celebrities and committed Rolls enthusiast alike.
