1957 Jaguar XK150 RHD FHC. Chassis number: S824016 Registration number: 0AYN834 (Belgium). A very very early Jaguar XK150 FHC. Indeed this is the earliest known RHD FHC XK150 known being the 16th unit to come down the production line at Browns Lane. When new it was sent straight to the rust free balmy climes of South Africa & also spent time in Botswana according to the token of insurance decal in the windscreen. The car is finished in lightly patinated dark blue paint. It is not concours perfect but is very presentable making it a very useable car. To the interior is lovely tan Leather throughout in wonderful condition. The story goes on under the bonnet where we find the lusty 3.4 litre twin cam in robust health starting readily & pulling strongly. The engine drives through a standard Moss gear box as would be expected. The car was imported to Belgium from South Africa & has formed part of a small collection of cars which is now being disbanded. I have to stress how utterly rot free & solid this car is. Looking at its underside whilst on a ramp I was pleasantly surprised at its wonderfully preserved overall condition. The car sits on four knock off wire wheels shod with nearly new tyres.. A leaper Jaguar mascot is affixed to the bonnet. I have to stress how straight honest & useable this Jaguar is. It has just been serviced so is absolutly ready to go. Viewings are near Ghent in Belgium, but will come to us once we have disposed of some of the other cars in the collection. It is the kind of car that puts a smile upon your face the moment you set foot in it. Office 01375 379719 Richard Biddulph 07967 260673 Christoff Cowens 07772188037 We accept Credit/Debit Cards. This beautifully presented, exceptional driving Jaguar XK150 FHC left the factory finished in Carmen Red with Black trim and was manufactured on the 8th October 1957. Still in its original colour combination and retaining its original 3.4 litre engine, the XK was supplied by Jaguar Cars New York with a manual, overdrive gearbox and the car spent its first 32 years in the USA. This XK150 arrived into the UK via Felixstowe on the 30th October 1989, imported by a Garage business based in Leicestershire who sold the car to the Director of an Isle of Man property business who kept the car for 15 years. In 2004, the most recent owner in Derbyshire purchased the XK and has covered several thousand faultless miles in the car. The XK's first UK based long term owner purchased the car in 1989 but it wasn't until 1991 when the car was sympathetically restored and subsequently registered JVS 492. Although the owner was based on the Isle of Man, the car was taken to Stockport, Cheshire specialists WilstorationLtd and around 5000 of mechanical work was carried out. A Stockport based auto trimming specialist carried out a full re-trim in Black leather at a cost of 1925 and in August 1991 the XK was MOT tested for the car time with a recorded mileage of 54076. Later in 1991, the XK was taken to the Isle of Man and Merlin Restorations carried out further work to the car. Two years later in 1993 the Jaguar was treated to a rear axle overhaul and at the same time the gearbox and overdrive were stripped down and treated to new seals and bearings. The Isle of Man based owner later moved to Nottingham and in 2004 the car was sold to the most recent owner in Derbyshire. MOT certificates with the car suggest it only covered 200 miles from 1991 to 2004. On initial purchase in 2004, the XK was treated to four brand new MWS International Ltd chrome wire wheels and Vredestein tyres. During the first year of ownership the XK then covered 1000 miles. Since then the car has been used sparingly, covering just 3000 milesover the 15 year ownership period. On the road we can confirm JVS 492 is very impressive; its original 3.4 litre engine performs beautifully with a lovely note, holding excellent oil pressure and it pulls strongly through the gears with lots of power. The gearbox is notably smooth, gear changes are slick and the overdrive comes in and out nicely. The XK holds the road well, handling is excellent and the brakes are sharp and efficient. The car runs at correct temperature and on the road the car feels incredibly strong and reliable. The Carmen Red paintwork has a gleaming, deep shine, the finish is of a lovely standard and the bodyshell is exceptional with impressive panel gaps and no corrosion issues. The glass and chrome work is all excellent, the engine bay is nicely presented with a superb bulk head and 28 years and 3000 miles on since a re-trim, the upholstery presents beautifully. The chassis and underbody are excellent and the general condition is of a very well preserved, well maintainedolder restoration that has had careful, limited use since major work was completed. JVS 492 is an incredibly straight, sharp, honest car that drives superbly and with matching numbers and original colours, there is no doubt this XK150 offers excellent value for a car that can be driven and enjoyed with absolute confidence.
