Wayne Gardners career highlights include no less than 18 Grand Prix wins from a decade long partnership with Honda, along with becoming the first Australian to take the coveted 500ccMotorcycle World Championship title. Following his retirement from front line motorcycle racing at the end of 1992, Gardner made a much publicised switch to touring cars. This in turn led to Gardners foray into the world of road cars, in the form of the Wayne Gardner Racing Road Divisions Group A Commodore. Sensing a gap in the market between the increasingly expensive HSV products and the regular Commodore line up,. Gardners outfit planned to offer a wide range of engine, suspension and bodywork modifications at relatively affordable prices. Tapping into the expertise available via his racing team WGR upgrades included a cold-air induction system re-profiled camshaft, revised computer settings, intake and exhaust mods to increase power to 195kW. Based on the contemporary VR/VSCommodore with its slippery aero styling, WGRs GroupA body package was the work of Sydney design studio Talon which included a deep front spoiler with integrated driving lights, side skirts and a boot mounted rear wing complete with carbon-fiber end plates. The choice of wheels was the 18inch 5spoke alloy MOMO wheel complemented by the custom Recaro interior supplied by Autotek other cosmetic touches included a MOMO steering wheel with a carbon-fibre centre console. The main objective for WGR vehicles were to build them with quality tailored for customer requirements. WGR production vehicles that were built had a unique build number although exact production figures remain unknown. This particular example is totally original which comes with all documentation logbooks and service history. The vehicle presents in great condition throughout with minimum wear and tear only traveled just over 89,000km This rare classic is a must for any Holden collector or car enthusiast.

The Holden Special Vehicles SV5000 was a proper V8 bruiser and was built in very limited numbers (359 in total) between 1989 and 1991. Based on the VN Commodore, the SV5000 started life in Holdens Elizabeth plant in South Australia before being transferred to the boffins over at HSV, who were located in Notting Hill in Victoria at the time. This particular SV5000 is finished in SV Racing Green, one of only a handful of colours available on the SV5000 model. Both inside and out this SV5000 presents nicely and has only minor modifications such as a stereo and exhaust upgrade. Comes with original logbook, logbook folder and broadcast sheet.
