Now available for sale is this rare Holden VP Commodore SV91. Build 52 of only 103 ever produced and rarely offered for sale these days. First released in October 1991 and manufactured by Holden in Elizabeth, South Australia. Powered by the mighty Holden 5.0 litre V8 engine backed up with a four-speed automatic transmission. The SV91, identified by its unique Euro Blue colour and matched also to the unique Steel Blue interior with HSV embroidered seats. Extra to this uniqueness is front and rear bumper assemblies, an open grille, side skirts, front wheel arch mouldings and a rear spoiler with stop lamp and nicely finished off with the subtle SV91 decal on the boot lid also. An Aussie legend on two and four wheels. Wayne Gardners career highlights include no less than 18 Grand Prix wins from a decade long partnership with Honda, along with becoming the first Australian to take the coveted 500ccMotorcycle World Championship title. Following his retirement from front line motorcycle racing at the end of 1992, Gardner made a much publicised switch to touring cars. This in turn led to Gardners foray into the world of road cars, in the form of the Wayne Gardner Racing Road Divisions Group A Commodore. Sensing a gap in the market between the increasingly expensive HSV products and the regular Commodore line up,. Gardners outfit planned to offer a wide range of engine, suspension and bodywork modifications at relatively affordable prices. Tapping into the expertise available via his racing team WGR upgrades included a cold-air induction system re-profiled camshaft, revised computer settings, intake and exhaust mods to increase power to 195kW. Based on the contemporary VR/VSCommodore with its slippery aero styling, WGRs GroupA body package was the work of Sydney design studio Talon which included a deep front spoiler with integrated driving lights, side skirts and a boot mounted rear wing complete with carbon-fiber end plates. The choice of wheels was the 18inch 5spoke alloy MOMO wheel complemented by the custom Recaro interior supplied by Autotek other cosmetic touches included a MOMO steering wheel with a carbon-fibre centre console. The main objective for WGR vehicles were to build them with quality tailored for customer requirements. WGR production vehicles that were built had a unique build number although exact production figures remain unknown. This particular example is totally original which comes with all documentation logbooks and service history. The vehicle presents in great condition throughout with minimum wear and tear only traveled just over 89,000km This rare classic is a must for any Holden collector or car enthusiast.
