Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1972 Maserati Indy 2+2 4900 Coupé by Carrozzeria Vignale For Sale. Chassis no: A1M116/49.1708 Registration: OABJ105 Mileage: 57,000 Maserati followed up its stunning, Ghia-styled Ghibli two-seater with the equally elegant Indy 2+2, though the latter, announced in 1968 and noteworthy as the first unitary construction Maserati, was the work of Carrozzeria Vignale. The Indy first appeared publicly on Vignale's stand at the 1968 Turin Motor Show and was officially launched by Maserati at the Geneva Salon in 1969. Running gear was conventional, with independent front suspension, live rear axle and four-wheel disc brakes, while the power unit was - initially - the Modena firm's well-tried, 4.1-litre, four-cam V8, with 4.7- and 4.9-litre versions following. With 260bhp on tap, the top speed of Maserati's luxury four-seater was in the region of 150mph, a figure the subsequent larger-engined versions improved upon. The sleek Vignale coachwork was so effective that the Indy was able to carry four people in relative comfort without impairing its performance as a sports car. In 4.9-litre form the Indy's claimed maximum increased to 320bhp, which pushed its top speed to 165mph. Power steering and air conditioning were standard on the '4900' model, 300 of which were made between 1972 and 1975. Finished in Black with Black leather interior all in fine order, this is a great opportunity to own a true Italian classic. In our showroom and ready for viewing. The 365 GTC/4 shares the chassis, wheelbase, suspension and engine with the 365 Daytona, however in the pininfarina designed 2+2 body. To accommodate the more practical nature of the car, the engine was slightly detuned from the Daytona to 340bhp, there was a slightly softer suspension set-up and an inclusion of power-steering. However, with only 500 being produced an such a close relationship with the iconic Daytona, the 365 GTC/4 has remained an under-appreciated and under-valued car, making it an enticing investment opportunity. The special example we are offering today is currently finished in Nero over Nero; one of the strongest combinations for the car. However the car was originally finished in an extremely interesting colour of Oro Kelso (Gold) over a Pelle Nera Cogolo the car still dons today. The car was supplied new to Modern Classic Motors in Reno, Nevada but has subsequently spent the majority of its recent life back in Europe and sits in full European specification, French to bespecific as highlighted by the stunning yellow lights. The car is also equipped with an extremely rare factory fitted sunroof, which we have never seen on another example! Complete with recently Classiche Certification from the factory, this GTC/4 is showing just under 14,500 miles and sits in very good and original condition all round, with the interior showing fantastic patina and the mechanicals as one would expect for such a beautiful Ferrari of the 70s. For many the GTC/4 is a much nicer car to own and drive than the more famous Daytona; and when this is combined by the limited production run and figures, they certainly present a fantastic argument as being the finest 70s Ferrari to own and also invest.

Took part in the 1974 Targo Florio fitted with a Porsche 906 engine Purchased by our vendor in 2007. Fitted with a Cosworth BDG engine and a Hewland FG 400 gearbox Last raced at the 2011 Silverstone Classic driven by David Gathercole Fitted with a zero-timed, David Gathercole-built, Cosworth BDG. Current FIA HTP Eligible for a number of series such as World Sportscar Masters and Classic Endurance Racing. The T290 was Lola's 1972 contender for the European 2-litre Sports Car 'Championship for Makes', a vibrant series which ran at most of the classic circuits in the 70s with many famous drivers.Lola designers Bob Marston, Patrick Head, and John Barnard produced an entirely new car to replace the outgoing and winning T210 and T212. The new 1972 car was based on an aluminium monocoque and designed to take a variety of 2-litre engines including the Cosworth FVC and the Chevy Vega.As alwayswith Lola, their production race carswere very competitive and easy to run for privateer racer andthe monocoqueT290was direct competition forthe Chevron B21 and Abarth Osella SE021.Chassis HU 16 was originally supplied through European Lola agent Jo Bonnier where it remained for 2 years and subsequently was sold to Italian Bruno Rebac. The car, at that time, was fitted with a Porsche 906 engine and took part in the 1974 Targa Florio where it, unfortunately, crashed, however, the parts were subsequently reassembled into a new chassis built around the original bulkheads by John Collins. In 1988, a Swedish gentleman purchased the car and took it back to Italy where itremained until 1995 when a Mr Jim Jaqua purchased it and exportedit to America. Mr Jaqua prepared the car for racing and it was then in the hands of well known USpreparer, Lee Chapman Racing. The car was later purchased throughSimon Hadfield by ourvendor in 2007 and is currently fitted with a Cosworth BDG engine and a Hewland FG 400 gearbox.HU 16 last raced at the 2011 Silverstone Classic driven by well-known engine builder David Gathercole who hadfitted one of his own 2-litre FVC engines for the occasion. David ran as high as 3rd in the race against such opposition as Lola T70s demonstrating just how quick and competitive this car can be.Subsequently, the Lola has been fitted with a Cosworth BDG zero-timed engine making it eligible for a number of series such as World Sportscar Masters and Classic Endurance Racing. With a new owner, this car should be as competitive once again as it was in 1972 and 2011The Lola comes complete with full FIA HTP papers.

Porsche 911 2.4E Coupe; 1972 Porsche 911, 2.4 E finished in Tangerine with black hide seats with Pepita Houndstooth seat facings and black carpet throughout. The 911 2.4 E used mechanical fuel injection in all markets and this particular car is rare example of an extremely original early 911 in the most desirable colour combination. Fully restored in Italy by a well known Porsche specialist about 5 years ago for a now deceased owner and more recently acquired by a colleague in London as part of his considerable collection. The car is in excellent mechanical condition and has been driven regularly and maintained to a high standard. It is in immaculate condition throughout and a delight to drive and although it has been fully restored, the work has been carried out to the most original specification we have seen. This is an excellent opportunity to buy a beautiful example that we feel will retain its value if kept in this condition. Realistically priced at 110,000.
