The Ferrari 365 GTB/4 (to use its official title) was the immediate descendant for the much revered 275 GTB/4 and was first shown at the Paris motor show, 1968A The Daytona nickname was supposedly invented by Ferrari aficionados and affiliates of the media in acknowledgment of the factory's unforgettable 1-2-3 triumph in the 1967 Daytona 24 hour editionA Alternatively, the story is that Ferrari had originally planned to employ the Daytona name, but changed their mind when news of the story leaked prior to the model's revealA The Tipo 251 engine was an improvement of the DOHC V12 of the 275 GTB/4, and at 4,390cc was roughly 33% larger in capacityA Six twin-choke Weber carburettors fed fuel to the engine, enabling it to produce 352bhp at 7,500rpm; enough to propel the 1,280kg machine to 60mph in under 5A5 seconds and on to a top speed of around 174mph, with a five-speed transaxle powering the rear wheelsA Manufacture ran from 1968 to 1976, throughout which time a total of 1,406 examples areunderstood to have been built - 1,269 road-going Coupes and 122 SpidersA Of the total, 158 Coupes and just seven Spiders were produced in right hand drive formA However, early versions of the model featured a full-width Plexiglass cover for the twin headlights, and the car we are offering is one of the 35 (approxA) RHD UK delivered carsA Chassis number 12853 initiallly left Maranello on the 3rd September 1969 and was sold through ColA Ronnie Hoare to Lord CowdrayA It remained in England until 2003 where it went to a large Danish CollectionA The car has since returned to England and it sits today in very good conditionA It has been awarded Ferrari Classiche Certification to supplement its already strong history file which includes a Massini report, period correspondence, plus many MOT's and also invoices for various worksA

We are delighted to be able to offer for sale this authentic matching numbers right hand drive Aston Martin DB6 Saloon which was prepared to French specification, which made this example perfect for continental touring. The car has since been converted to British specification in order for it to be registered within the UK. This example was registered in 1969 to its first of two keepers, the former Vice President of Columbia Pictures and the personal financial consultant to Ian Fleming, Kenneth Maidment (CBE). The car then changed ownership in 1975, to which the owner repainted the car from its original colour of Silver Birch to Pacific Blue but the interior trim is still that of the original. Since then the car has been returned to Works and has been beautifully repainted to its original colour of Silver Birch. Undoubtedly this DB6 Saloon is a great car to look at and with a recent £15,000 recommissioning carried out by Aston Martin Works, it drives superbly as well. Announced at the LondonMotor1965, the DB6 was produced until it was superseded by the DB6 MK2 in July 1969. Recognisably descending from the DB4 styled by Carrozzeria Touring, the updated design continues the cowel headlight design from the DB4 Series V but introduced dramatic styling updates especially at the rear with the Kamm tail spoiler. This sculpted shape of the boot panel not only represented a distinctive design cue, it also improved high speed stability as well as increasing the boot capacity and rear headroom.

A recently completed Aston Martin Works restoration car. This example of Aston Martin's iconic DB6 was first registered on 23rd May 1969. With the passage of time, and due to its increasing value, the four-seater has naturally been used much less over recent years, being entered in a number of concours events which included winner of the Eden Little Memorial Trophy and Prix d'Honneur at the 1985 Brighton and Hove Motor Club concours d'elegance and 1st Prize in the non-Jaguar class at the 2007 JEC event on the Isle of Wight. Finished in the rare and eye-catching combination of Bahama Yellow with black interior, it is believed to be the only Mk1 Vantage to have been painted in this hue and it has just had our full 4,500 hour restoration back to factory build spec. Aston Martin Works restoration: The intention of this restoration was to fully restore DB64028R to as new condition. Additionally we have incorporated a number of improvements to the car to enhance its usability, reliability, andimportantlysafety under the conditions that it is likely to encounter when being used on today's roads. In order to achieve this, whilst ensuring the finished car retains the maximum possible originality, pain staking effort has been taken at every stage of this project. From carefully recording the condition and originality of every component removed from the car during its dis-assembly, to in-depth research into the origin of the smallest parts, no stone has been left unturned. Where components were found to be unsuitable for refurbishment but also proven to be no longer available from their original manufacturer, we have re-manufactured these, using the original drawing where ever possible, faithfully replicating the part's original look and functionality. Similarly where items have been refurbished this has been carried out to a standard which is as good or in some cases better than when the components were new.
