1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda (W113)Midnight Blue (904) with Grey Leather and Blue Fabric Soft TopThe 280SL was the final incarnation of the Pagoda series of SL, replacing the 250SL in 1967 and continuing until the introduction of the R107 in 1971. The introduction of the larger 2.8 litre M130 engine was hailed by many as the ultimate Pagoda thanks to the car now having the power to suit the sublime Paul Bracq styled silhouette;, with 168hp available from the Single Overhead Cam inline six. This beautiful 280SL Pagoda was ordered new in Pennsylvania, United States back in 1968.In 2014, when the car was a mere 46 years young, it was shipped to Germany where it was subject to what can only be described as a nut and bolt restoration.Every part of this car has been taken care of to an extremely high standard, with the end goal being concours condition and ultimate Pagoda perfection. The body shell was totally rebuilt, and the underside powder coated. Zinc plated bolts were used, with the entireunderneath of the car then detailed to show standard. This build is evidenced by photos and receipts which can be browsed on request. Also accompanying the car is the original green service book, manuals and brown plastic sleeve wallet. From the factory this car would have been painted 'Blue 287', however during the 2014 restoration the decision was made to go with 'Midnight Blue 904'. 287 is a lighter shade of blue, and we believe the move to the darker 904 gives the car a much more luxurious look and feel. The leather and carpets have been finished to the exact specification of the factory originals, something that is critically important to Pagoda connoisseurs world-wide.Whilst the body shell was rebuilt, the car was given a 'euro look', which involved removing the side repeaters alongside the headlights and replacing the American specification bumpers with more subtle European units. As the American impact regulations increased, elegant cars were often aesthetically compromised by the forcedaddition of these 'impact' bumpers - changing a Pagoda to the European style is a very popular modification for USA cars.Along with the move to Euro specification exterior, another key upgrade this car now enjoys is an improved stereo. Discreet additional speakers were added, all the while being careful to consider the period look of the car whilst aiming to make touring even more enjoyable.Recently this car has spent many hours in our workshops, undergoing a complete overhaul of the injection system with new injectors and a refurbished injection pump. We can now state that this Pagoda drives exactly as a 280SL should have done on the day it left the factory. This can only be described as the perfect 280SL, capable of cold starts, motorway cruising and everything in between.A car to be enjoyed, admired and appreciated for many years to come. 1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda (W113)Midnight Blue (904) with Grey Leather and Blue Fabric Soft TopThe 280SL was the final incarnation of the Pagoda series ofSL, replacing the 250SL in 1967 and continuing until the introduction of the R107 in 1971. This TR5 was built on 23rd May 1968 and dispatched to Station Garage in Amersham 4th June 1968. A matching numbers car, desirable for what is arguably the most desirable of the TR range. Resplendent in its factory colours of Triumph Racing Green coachwork and black interior. It left the factory as a soft top model but now has a surrey roof assembly with aluminium top fitted. The mileage of just over 90,000 we believe is genuine, backed up by the massive history file that goes back to the early 1970s!! A Heritage certificate is with the history. Standard 2500cc injected engine pulls very well on the road, the overdrive gearbox is a delight to use Previous owner has owned this TR5 since 2005, he is a long standing Triumph man, having owned many other TRs in the past. This car has been looked after in his custodianship thats for sure!! It has been used as it should and has seen many roads abroad on their various trips with the TR Register & friends. A bare metal respray was carried out by marque specialists TR Enterprises, where it had 3 outer wings replaced with original items along with various repairs. It still looks as good as the day it was finished. The engine bay is presentable, please see the pictures. The interior is very nice, with the addition of a Retro Sound model one radio and a working CB system! The brakes and suspension have been overhauled, poly bushed suspension all round. The front discs are vented items. The TR has done 20000 miles since 2008, regularly serviced and receipts to show all work carried out. If you want a very presentable, superb driving TR5 then this is the one. The history file is fantastic, receipts going back to the early 70s, MOTs dating back to 1983. TR5 handbook is present in the file. All our cars are supplied with 12 months MOT, a full health check and service by partner company TR Enterprises. The lucky new owner will also benefit from 12 months of TR Register membership free of charge. Sensibly priced at only £48,995 - VIEWINGS STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT ONLY -

A wonderful opportunity to purchase what can be regarded as one of the very nicest useable genuine UK supplied TR5s on the market. Even better a car that still retains many of its original features too. So This is a UK supplied matching number TR5 supplied to you in its original factory colour combination of Royal blue coach work and shadow blue interior! Previously restored by TRbitz in 2011 to a standard spec including a full mechanical overhaul and body off repaint. The car was then used by the then custodian for 1000 miles before he sadly passed away. The car was then taken into its current ownership where the car has been used as intended covering over 13,000 miles in total since the restoration in 2011. No expense was spared getting the car to the desired spec! the original engine was removed and put into storage (still now with the car) in favour of a replacement unit to carry out modifications. These included a lightened and balanced crank, lightened flywheel, Carillo connecting rods, forged pistons, gas flowed head and a mild yellow piper cam with this the car also still operates with its original injection system producing roughly 170BHP which can still be easily increased if required. The addition of a pheonix tubular manifold, high output 60amp Alternator, kenlowe fan and rev limiter are also present too. All work was carried out by Enginuity further on from Enginuitys mechanical work the car was also subjected to a full bare metal respray again in 2017 to an excellent standard including the body being gapped to a fantastic standard. Further spec to this vehicle includes front and rear heated windscreens, rare factory steering wheel, standard TR5 shadow blue trim as per factory spec, wheel arch liners/protectors, Minilite wheels fitted with nearly new Michellin XAS tyres and a surrey top with hard and soft tops too! This is the perfect TR5 to be used for either summer days or European touring along with everything in between and has been built as a fantastic all rounder! £59,995 - VIEWINGS STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT ONLY -
