Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1958 Jaguar XK150S 3.4 Litre Roadster For Sale. Registration: 655UYG Chassis no: T831551DN Engine no: VS1341-9 Body no: F16567 The ultimate expression of Jaguars fabulous XK series of sports cars arrived in 1957. The XK150 was a progressive development of the XK120 and XK140, retaining the same basic chassis, 3.4-liter engine and four-speed Moss transmission of its predecessors. It benefited from a new, wider body that provided increased interior space and improved visibility, courtesy of a single-piece wrap-around windscreen that replaced the XK140s divided screen. Cleverly, the new body used many XK120/140 pressings, the increased width being achieved by means of a 4-wide central fillet. A higher front wing line and broader radiator grille were other obvious differences, but the new models main talking point was its Dunlop disc brakes. Fade following repeated stops from high speed had been noted on the earlier, drum-braked cars, but now the XK had stopping power to match its prodigious straight-line speed. The XK150 was available at first only in fixed and drophead coupé forms; the open roadster version didnt appear until the following year. At 190bhp, the engines maximum power output was identical to that of the XK140, so performance was little changed. Special Equipment and S versions came with 210 and 250bhp respectively, the latter delivering an astonishing 0-60mph time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 136mph. This was achieved by the introduction of the Weslake-developed straight-port cylinder head, high-compression pistons, triple 2 SU carburetors and twin electric fuel pumps. The car regularly recorded in excess of 130mph in magazine road tests. The Jaguar XK150 is undeniably one of the worlds fastest and safest cars. It is quiet and exceptionally refined mechanically, docile and comfortable we do not know of any more outstanding example of value for money, declared The Autocar. This fantastic XK150S Roadster has in recent years had a full ground up restoration to the highest of standards and has covered just 425 miles since. The end result is truly remarkable with all the body gaps being millimetre correct. The underneath and wheel arches are as immaculate as the exterior which has an almost faultless high polish finish. Underneath the bonnet the same quality remains, not just to look at though, as soon as soon as you turn the key the 3.4 Litre Tri-Carb engine fires up and runs beautifully even from cold. Various modern upgrades have been fitted for ease with modern motoring, these include electronic ignition and power steering. A true masterpiece that really does need to be seen, this Jaguar is currently located in the owners climate controlled garage so please call and arrange a viewing. 265 RMV was first registered on the 21st May 1958 and was supplied new in Cornish Grey to Neil Tool Co Ltd, Tottenham, North London. The XK spent it's early life in London, Surrey and Essex but was off the road for around 30 years, discovered in a collapsed garage in 2002. From 2002 to 2005 the XK was subject of a 138,000 rebuild and transformation, creating a first class driving car that would perform, handle and offer the ultimate XK driving experience in comfort and style, more than capable of dealing with modern road conditions. A full body off restoration began and in order to achieve the very best results, a brand new powder coated chassis was purchased. All of the panel work was replaced and repaired where necessary and an early decision was made to remove the front wing side lights from the top of the wings as this was an area that encouraged corrosion. A spare wheel was carefully fitted and is accessible from outside under the boot floor. On completion the coachwork was refinished in theoriginal Jaguar colour of Cornish Grey. Mechanically, the original 3.4 litre engine was replaced with a rebuilt series three XJ6 4.2 unit and fuelled by throttle bodied fuel injection with PECO fuel injectors. Submersible fuel pumps deliver the fuel, whilst power is fed through a Jaguar five speed gearbox with S-type selector and 3:31 Power Lock differential at the rear. An engine management system controls fuel, ignition and cooling fans and Gaz coil over shock absorbers and springs have been fitted. Brakes are highly upgraded with a twin circuit hydraulic system with adjustable bias at the front and rear. Four pot callipers with vented and cross drilled discs are at the front and Series III XJ6 callipers at the rear. To accommodate the taller driver, a collapsible and adjustable steering column has been introduced and finished with a wood rimmed Mota-Lita steering wheel. New wire wheels and a set of 215/65/16 Pirelli P6000 tyres fitted. A bespoke wiring harness incorporates a twelve volt negativeearth system with electric rev counter and odometer that was zeroed at completion of the build. The front headlamps are modified original J type units now with halogen bulbs and side lights. An electric power steering system eases driving as does the two speed wiper motor system for clear vision in all conditions; air conditioning has also been added for comfort making the car ideal for some summer Continental touring, electric windows are another modification present. The interior has been trimmed using the finest quality materials. The seats are early XJS trimmed in red leather and incorporate headrests for safety. A digital radio and electric aerial provide the entertainment and two lockable compartments can be found behind the seats and the back panel folds down revealing the boot compartment. For additional convenience and security, the XK is secured by remote central locking and has the additional benefit of a Tracker. 265 RMV is absolutely outstanding to drive and offers a relaxed andcomfortable experience with the car staying in a straight line without having to make constant inputs to the steering. All gauges record correct temperatures and pressures and performance is something quite special. The engine is perfect, it sounds wonderful and under acceleration is quick offering impressive performance and is a car that keeps up with modern traffic. The five speed gearbox is a delight up and down the gears and the car handles perfectly. Since completion of the rebuild, 11,500 miles have been covered since completion of the rebuild proving this is a car ideal for regular or even everyday use. This impressive rebuild has been carried out by a well respected XK specialist and some exceptional engineering and workmanship has gone into this car. Include the purchase of an XK150 FHC needed restoration, a project like this today would cost in the region of 200,000. The fact that is has been completed over 12 years and has covered 11,500 miles should give real confidence that this is nowa well used, proven car that really offers an incredible driving experience. The XK attended Goodwood Revival last year and is without the doubt the very best driving XK we have ever experienced. If looking for a classic Jaguar with modern performance, comforts and modifications, this should be the car to buy. Price: 149,995

This is an incredibly special car with low mileage, matching numbers, factory colour combination and a wonderful original upholstery. Further still, it is one of very few factory produced Automatics and is quite simply sensational to drive and absolutely perfect for relaxed, long distance touring. UWK 398 is a car we know well having previously sold it to one of our long term regular customers, a Northamptonshire based Jaguar collector. UWK 398 left the factory in Cream with Red upholstery and was one of just 595 LHD DHC automatic examples ever supplied. UWK 398 was supplied new by Jaguar Cars New York and first registered to D B Ortman. The Jaguar spent 41 years with the same family in the U.S before being sold to the UK with a guarantee from the dealership that the car had only covered a genuine 29000 miles. This XK150 now has a recorded mileage of just 31200 having had substantial programme of restoration work and some use in the UK since. The car is finished in Cream/Old English White with Redupholstery as it left the factory and presents beautifully with chrome wire wheels and recently replaced Black mohair hood and cover. In 2013 a Bristol based restoration Company stripped this car to bare metal, carried out new metal work as required and completely re-painted the car in Old English White. The interior was sympathetically restored with original door cards being rebuilt using aged, factory fitted covers, new kick panels and furflexes have had to be made and the original sixty one year old leather seats are still in the car. A brand new hood and lining was trimmed and fitted and a new boot mat supplied and fitted. A new spare wheel board was made up and a set of stainless steel wire wheels were supplied with brand new Blockley radial tyres. The original wheels and tyres have been left with the car, the original Dunlop Roadspeed tyres giving the car further provenance. Front and rear bumpers and over-riders were re-chromed finishing off the exterior beautifully. A major programme ofmechanical work was also carried out and this included removing and stripping the gearbox and re-conditioning the torque converter. The steering was professionally converted to RHD and the cylinder head was uprated to 'Big Valve' head with new valves and seats to unleaded specification. The block was cleaned out and core plugs were replaced, the carburettors were upgraded to HD8 2' and new timing chain, tensioner and guides were fitted. The thermostat and housing, fan belt, plugs, distributor cap and HT leads were replaced, the radiator re-conditioned and a Kenlowe fan fitted. The braking system was treated to all new brake hoses, servo, Zeus brakes front and rear, new master cylinder and new discs and pads all round. The rear axle oil was replaced, rear shock absorbers replaced and all new front suspension bushes, ball joints and bearings fitted. A new stainless steel exhaust system with six branch manifold was fitted, new Xenon headlights fitted and all the loom and electrics checked through. Anupgraded heater was also supplied, as well as a new electronic fuel pump and sender unit. After some time off the road, the fuel tank was also flushed, cleaned and sealed and various rubbers replaced. As expected with such a comprehensive mechanical overhaul and restoration, the XK150 is truly outstanding to drive. The automatic gearbox is incredibly smooth, it really is impressive and far more advanced than one would expect from 1958. The engine is tremendous with wonderful power, performance and acceleration. The car sounds truly outstanding and feels tight, precise, accurate and is a delight to drive. UWK 398 has so much to offer with a top class bodyshell, stunning underside, such strong mechanical condition having had a very expensive programme of work and of course, the trim, with a nice mix of new and original that reminds us the car is 61 years old. The boot area is exceptionally clean, the engine bay presents beautifully, and the car has a true, impressive feel and presence. Price: 119,995
