The Maserati Merak SS was introduced in 1972 and production ran for ten years. The model was produced in very low numbers, under 2000 were ever made including 993 Merak SS models according to the Maserati owners club. The Merak has the Maserati designed quad-cam V6 engine and in comparison to the V8 powered Bora model running costs are low, there is room for small rear seats and handling is reported to be improved due to a lower weight and better front/rear weight distribution. The rare, Merak has a superb combination of beautiful Italian body styling with excellent performance offering high speed and impressive acceleration. This lovely, usable and very original example was last sold by us in 2014 and now has a recorded mileage of 22,000. When arriving with us four years ago the Maserati had a programme of work to including re-commissioning brakes, new steering joints, new suspension bushes and wheel bearings and we later had the engine stripped down and rebuilt with new main bearings, big endbearings, exhaust valves, valve guides, inlet valve stem oil seals, Omega pistons, all new gaskets, oil seals and water pump. Parts were all supplied by marque specialists McGrath Maserati and total expenditure of engine work was in the region of 8000. In 2014 the Merak had also been subject of a full professional re-paint and as a result the car has a stunning, deep paint finish and the bodywork is exceptionally straight with superb panels. Having been well garaged and only covering 1000 miles since, the Maserati still presents very well with a deep finish. We know the Maserati changed hands in 1998 with 13,000 miles recorded and by 2002 the car was sold again with a mileage of 16107. At this point, the car was taken to McGrath Maserati and substantial work was carried out to include new clutch, clutch release bearing, clutch cover and slave cylinder, replacement crankshaft spigot bearing, crankshaft rear main oil seal, lower wishbone bushes, re-faced flywheel, renewed gearbox input shaft, rearbrake pads, reconditioned rear brake calipers, re-conditioned LHM hydraulic pump and re-conditioned headlamp switch. Various other work was carried out during this time totalling in excess of 12000 including the above work. The Merak was treated to a full stainless steel exhaust system, some re-wiring work, re-furbished wheels, new head gasket set, rocker cover gaskets and reassembled camshaft chains. Since this work, just 5000 miles have been covered and only 1000 miles covered since the engine rebuild in 2014. Over the past two years the Maserati has been dry stored and as a result has been subject of some re-commissioning work over the summer of 2018. Over 15,000 has been spent on the car to include a brand new LHM tank, re-conditioned steering rack, steering rack ends and boots, front shock absorbers, front discs and pads, new brake disc bells, fuel tank sender unit, gear changes bushes, speedo cable, starter motor, a full service and a set of new tyres. On the road the MXI 514 is outstandingwith high performance, excellent running gear and is fantastic fun. The car is quick responsive and handles and brakes superbly. This rare model offers a superb driving experience and still represents excellent value for money. This Maserati Merak SS is ideal for regular use and ideal for collectors looking to purchase low production, high performance cars. These cars are in high demand and are sensibly priced in comparison to the model's competition. Price: 74,995

This top class Jaguar E-Type Series II FHC is a matching numbers car still finished in its original colour of Regency Red. The car was manufactured on the 26th March 1969 and has covered 83,000 miles from new with a well-documented history. The original service book accompanies the car detailing Resnik Motors Inc in Manchester, New Hampton supplying the car to its first owner, Dr W T Belger. A comprehensive US 1980's history also companies the E-Type and in 1989 the car was purchased by a private owner in Buckinghamshire who registered the car in the UK for the first time. The E-Type was subject of a RHD conversion and some restoration work on initial arrival in the UK and it was in regular use right throughout the 1990's and 2000's covering 10,000 miles. In 2011 the E-Type changed hands and was then subject of a two year rebuild, overseen by E-Type expert and Club Technical Director Ken Jenkins. The car was completely dismantled and treated to an engine rebuild (UK spec with high compressionpistons) gearbox rebuild and rear axle overhaul and conversion to UK spec, 3.07:1. Triple HD8 SU carburettors were rebuilt and fitted to the car, the Koni shock absorbers were re-used and the handling and grip further enhanced by Aston Martin DB6 chrome wire wheels with 215-65-15 tyres. All mechanical components were replaced or re-conditioned and the car finished to an exceptionally high standard. Whilst the body was stripped down, it was taken on by a Rolls Royce painter for preparation and paint finish and the interior was completely re-trimmed in Barley. Invoices for the work are in the history file, including the engine rebuild by Ken Jenkins. Since completion of this major restoration, the E-Type has only covered 4000 miles and is in truly exceptional condition. The bodywork is first class with excellent panel gaps and no corrosion issues. The paint finish gleams, chrome work is stunning and the re-trimmed upholstery still looks new, as do the DB6 chrome wires. The underside is top class, theengine bay beautifully detailed and clean, the spare wheel well perfect. On the road RRX 999H is outstanding with a gorgeous, fit engine holding excellent oil pressure and delivering impressive performance. The all syncro four speed gearbox is effortless to use with lovely smooth changes and the rebuilt UK rear axle is just perfect. The E-Type handles with perfection and the brakes are super efficient. The drive is quite simply sublime and is a truly superb experience. RRX 999H is a first class example with matching numbers, is finished in arguably one of the nicest colour combinations and has an exceptional bodyshell, stunning paintwork and trim. This is something very special and has been dismantled and rebuilt to the highest of standards. Price: 99,995

This is a truly wonderful find and most certainly a car for the discerning buyer who understands the rarity, value and qualities in finding a car so original and correct. Not only is this genuine 3.5 Litre DHC Jaguar MKIV the most original 1940's or 1950 'Jaguar we have seen, it has only covered a genuine 78,000 miles from new and has never required dismantling or fully restoring and is a true time warp in strong mechanical condition. LHU 616 was first registered on 31st August 1948 and left the factory in Suede Green. It was supplied new by Western Motors (Bristol) to Benjamin Escott Fish in the affluent suburb of Redland in Bristol. The first owner was very elderly and in June 1949 the Jaguar was sold to A.W Kelly in the Ashley Down area of Bristol. Nineteen years later in 1968 the Jaguar sold to J.A Venn just a mile or two away in the Bristol 9 area. In 1970 LHU 616 was registered to its fourth owner in the City of Bath and until 2015 the Jaguar had been owned by the same family, husband andthen wife. Three years ago we sold the Jaguar to the last owner who has covered around 1000 faultless miles in the car and we are now delighted to have this wonderful Jaguar back with us. This is such a special car in terms of its originality, low mileage and the long term family ownership further enhances the desirability of this rare DHC Jaguar. LHU 616 has a comprehensive history file that includes 30 MOT certificates dating back to 1968. The Jaguar has had brief spells off the road but was regularly used for short journeys with the mileage from the early MOT's at 74558 to today's mileage of over 78,000 proving this. We also have 30 tax discs dating back to 1953 and a Bath and West Chronicle newspaper article related to the car in 1989. Further paperwork tells us the Jaguar was entered in the Jaguar Driver's Club Concours d'elegance rally at Beaulieu in May 1992 and the vehicle took second place. The Jaguar Driver's Club correspondence from the early 1990's also confirm the car as original withspecial original equipment in place to include Ace wheel discs, mounted hand lamps and windtone horns. The last owner treated the Jaguar to a rebuilt set of wire wheels and new tyres, Ace wheel discs are still with the car. We have receipts for various maintenance and service items over the years but the most significant invoices dates back to the 1980's when the Jaguar engine was subject of a major rebuild. The engine was totally stripped down and block was treated to new liners and new pistons. The block face was surface ground and worn camshaft bearings replaced. The crankshaft was re-ground and main and big end bearings were replaced. The timing chain was also replaced and the cylinder head was rebuilt with new valves and guides. The oil pump was stripped and rebuilt and all new gaskets fitted. Further mechanical work at this point included a new clutch, radiator, water pump rebuild and new kingpins. We can report that today, LHU 616 drives superbly with a strong engine holding excellent oilpressure. The car cruises comfortably, handles and steers well and brakes are efficient. The four speed gearbox changes up and down smoothly and the Jaguar is a true delight to drive. Whilst covering very low mileages annually, the Jaguar has been used regularly over the past three years and comes to us on the button and driving superbly. LHU 616 has so much character, patina and honesty. The paint is old, faded and there are areas that have had local paintwork many, many years ago and we've have long considered painting the car and taking it to a top class finish. Considering there may not be another highly original example like this in the World, we've decided to leave the paintwork alone and leave this decision to the next custodian. We would enjoy being involved in any cosmetic improvements so we are happy to discuss painting the car for the next owner if desired. Importantly the body is excellent, strong and has straight panels and it is clear the car has had a sheltered life. It has never beenleft to deteriorate, get damp and has clearly spent most of its life in a dry garage. The underside is excellent, the car structurally strong and the bright work not perfect but on the whole, very good. The car has an older hood in very good order with no tears and the interior is just an absolute delight. The leather is totally original and wonderful with lovely aged creases and nicely faded colour. It looks how it should; it has the smell of original leather and is very impressive. Door cards are original, woodwork is lovely and original, the correct gauges are in excellent order, the tool kit is in place and the carpets are very good consdering their age. This really is a remarkable find and there are not many 1940's Jaguar's with this level of originality left. With only around 184 genuine RHD 3.5 DHC's ever made, LHU 616, number 79 offers a wonderful opportunity for the collector and enthusiast. Price: 99,995
