1928 Rolls Royce 20hp 3 position drophead by Wylder Chassis number: GWL35 Registration number: OU801 A beautifully proportioned & very versatile three position drophead by Wylder of Kew. This car started life as a Mulliner saloon & was rebodied to the format we see today in the 1930's. Wylder ceased trading in 1937 when they were purchased by Alpe & Saunders. This little 20hp has had vast amounts of money spent upon it 10 or so years ago by Tim Walker Restorations & also by Marque Specialists Ristes of Nottingham. These works included both a long rear axle & an overdrive unit making this the fastest & longest legged 20hp we have ever had pass through our hands. It cruises all day at a genuine 50MPH & when driving it back across the low countries via the Hook of holland we saw a Genuine GPS recorded 62MPH on a flat section of dutch dyke. The overdive is configured to work both in 3rd & 4th gears making the car very flexible & a pleasure to drive. At the same time a full engine rebuild was undertaken including boring the engine out & fitting new pistons etc. As a result the engine starts instantly & runs in complete silence. Both axles have been removed & the suspension fully rebuilt. The paintwork is a fetching maroon over black with a new beige double duck conertible roof having been recently fitted. Versatile in the extreme it can be used fully closed, half open or as a full convertible when folded down. The coachwork has particularly pleasing lines with tall side windows & a graceful curve to the door tops. A large & commodious boot is found at the rear of the car. The interior is lightly patinated brown leather throughout with thick wool carpets in a lighter brown edge bound in the seat leather. The dash is a highly figured burr walnut affair with a full set of peiod original instrumentation. Inside the glove box is a hidden but useful modern fuel gauge. A 12V USB charging port is also fitted under the dash to power new fangled modern conveniences. Having handled so many 20hp cars I have to emphasize just how well this one goes. Far faster indeed then many equivalent 20/25's. The light yet elegant coachwork cetainly helps the performance. This is one of the first 20hp cars to be fitted with the now familiar vertical radiator shutters. The king pins have been redone so the steering is light taut & direct as a 20hp ought to be. We collected the car in Belgium & drove it back to Grays via its own power via the Hook of Holland & Harwich; a trip which it completed with aplomb. Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this LHD 1958 Austin Healey 100/6 For Sale. The BN6 was the final development of the Healey 100/6 two-seater roadster before being replaced by the Healey 3000 (BT7) in 1959. Chassis no BN6-L/3516 was built at MG's Abingdon works between the 30th September and 2nd October 1958 and shipped to a dealer in San Francisco on the 13th of October. After 32 years of enjoying life in the States and with 54,000 miles on the odometer, this 'Big Healey' crossed the Atlantic once again and joined the collection of a Channel Islands resident who is a long-term Healey enthusiast. He decided to carry out a 'nut and bolt' restoration with great attention to detail hoping to achieve a Concours winning standard. The six-port, cylinder head has been reconditioned and converted to unleaded compatibility with new valves, valve seats, seals etc. The block was cleaned inside and out, re-bored to +0.020 and fitted with new pistons and rings and top end bearings. The crank shaft was within 0.0005 of original so polished only and refitted with new bearings, thrust washers, big end bolts and main bearing nuts. The timing chain and tensioner have been replaced and the water pump reconditioned. All oil and waterways in the block and cylinder head were cleaned and the core plugs renewed. The rear axle and differential were dismantled, cleaned and assembled using new parts where required, and the clutch and gearbox were fully reconditioned using new parts. The steering and braking systems have been completely overhauled and new tyres fitted. All electrical components have either been overhauled or replaced with new items including a complete new braided wiring harness. A new aluminium fuel tank has been fitted along with new fuel lines and fuel pump and the carburettors have been fully reconditioned and set up appropriately. A complete, stainless steel, exhaust system and brackets were fitted. Whenever possible, the original exterior trim has been re-chromed to a very high standard with new brightwork added only when necessary. The hood and tonneau cover are new, the side screens have been reconditioned, and the windscreen glass is new. The interior was completely retrimmed to an extremely high standard and features Navy Blue leather upholstery with white piping and well-fitted carpets in Navy Blue Finally, after weeks of preparation, the Healey was carefully repainted in period Ice Blue over Old English White and the tight shut lines and depth of finish will reward any inspection. This Austin Healey is as immaculate underneath as it is on top. Since this extensive restoration to Concours standard, the car has been driven approximately 200 miles in the Jersey sunshine and any little rattles or niggles eradicated. This Austin Healey comes to us in immaculate Concours condition and is in our showroom ready for viewing. 1949 Bentley Mark 6 Standard Steel Saloon Chassis number: B58FV Registration number: 0AYN834 Over £100,000 was spent upon this car on a photographic restoration in 1997 to make the car as new. Since then it has coverd just a few thousand miles & has been always garage kept. The resotation was carried out by Prescott Restorations & there are copious bills, notes & Photographs on file attesting to the exhaustive & comprehensive works completed. The car is finished in traditional sable over sand paint with new dark brown hides to the interior. All woodwork has been removed & refinished to a mirrow lke shine. The restoation was done for a Belgian gentle man of means & the car still wears its yellow continental headlights. This is an utterly rust free car that has had the body corrosion cut out & fully attended to in addition to the chassis & engine being rebuilt. Not an easy car to fault. Simply put, this is a faultless car that has had eyewatering money spent upon it. It wants for nothing & drives beautifully. Currently part of a small collection in the process of being disbanded, the car will be with us in the first two weeks of August. Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1930 Packard 733 RS Golfers Coupe For Sale. Registration: BF 8602 Engine no: 293269 Chassis no: 2750 Mileage Shown: 49,175 The Packard Motor Car Company was one of the longest-lasting of the original American independents. Founded in 1899 in Ohio by the Packard brothers and George Weiss after the latter was frustrated when his suggestions on how to improve his own Winton automobile went ignored by the company. Packard would go on to make startling inroads amongst wealthy Americans by concentrating almost exclusively on high-end cars. Eventually, the automaker would find a broad audience in Europe and Asia as well for its exquisitely styled and powerful vehicles. By the time the Depression hit, Packard was able to leverage its unique single assembly line system (with all cars based on the same basic platform) to ride out the economic chaos and in fact while away the malaise by producing some of its most opulent models. The Packard offered for sale is indicative of this unusual strategy. Featuring an inline or 'straight' eight-cylinder engine good for between 90 and 110 horsepower from its 5.4 litres of displacement, the '733' in its name denotes its overall length of 134.5 inches. This particular model could be had with and without a roof, as well as in sedan, limousine, and even seven-passenger editions, deftly illustrating the interchangeability of Packard parts on its one-platform system. A four-speed manual transmission was standard with the vehicle, alongside drum brakes at all four wheels. The 733 was a very popular model for the brand, and the fact that Packard was able to sell just over 28,000 vehicles in 1930 a mere one year after the stock market crash was a minor miracle. This striking example comes to us in overall great condition, originally built in America and most of its life has been spent in Canada. A full restoration was undertaken in Canada during the previous owner 30 year ownership. The Brown and Cream exterior has help up in great condition, the matching roof and luggage box are showing some lovely patina, the fabric has begun to age, and in doing so has improved the appearance. There is a Golf bag side door to the passenger side; this allows access to a generous storage compartment behind the drivers seat. There are Tiffany signatures on many features including the running board plates; these were designed by the iconic luxury company. All of the chrome around the 733 is in good condition; there is also a folding trunk rack to the rear to allow for more storage. The back of the rumble seat has minimal wear, it would appear that it has barely used to sit on, and most likely was used for storage instead. During the restoration the interior was re-trimmed in buttoned and fluted velour, this was completed to a high standard and is still in good condition. The matching numbers 5.4 litre, straight 8 fires instantly, and idles with ease. Driving down the road it is clear the maintenance has been to a high standard, the engine is smooth and responsive; this certainly is an excellent driving machine. Other features include: One shot lubrication system, going to 42 points along the chassis. Trippe twin fog lights. Packard hand operated spot light. Packard See Right wheel mounted wing mirrors. Door mounted wind wings with opening front screen. Original stainless steel Packard Goddess with radiator cap. Correct lights front and rear. 6 volt system with electric fuel pump feeding auto vac. Jaeger 8 day clock. This is a well sorted Packard Coupe which runs and drives amazingly, in our showroom and ready for viewing. Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1958 Alvis TD21 Coachwork by Graber LHD For Sale. Registration no: TBC Chassis no: 25971 Graber commission no: 722 Mileage: 83,000 Price: 90,000.00 The first production Alvis to be styled by Swiss carrossier Graber appeared at the Paris Motor Show in October 1955. Based on the existing TC21 'Grey Lady' chassis, the newcomer brought a much-needed injection of Continental style and modernity to the Coventry manufacturer's range. Lighter, stiffer and with a much smaller frontal area than the traditionally styled Grey Lady, the Graber Alvis enjoyed much improved handling and a higher maximum speed in excess of 100mph. The first Graber-styled model - the TC108G - was built by coachbuilders Willowbrook, before production switched to Rolls-Royce's in-house coachbuilder Park Ward on the introduction of the restyled TD21 for 1959. The TD21 retained Alvis's torquey, 3.0-litre, overhead-valve six, which in up-rated form now came with 120bhp courtesy of a redesigned cylinder head. Inside, there were improvements to the accommodation, with increased headroom and legroom, especially in the rear. Lockheed servo-assisted disc brakes were an option, becoming standardised for 1960. The Motor magazine summed up the TD21 thus: 'As a perfectly serviceable everyday car with extra "chic", extra performance, and high standards of comfort and safety, its appeal to a select but important clientele should be strong.' Although Park Ward was entrusted with the production models, this left-hand drive example has coachwork by Hermann Graber, who continued to offer his own versions on the TD21 chassis. The TD21 is offered in excellent condition having received an extensive restoration from marque experts Earely Engeneering. The Graber bodylines are truly mesmerising and complimented by the Ice green paintwork, which also flows through the interior. The interior is also finished to a high standard with fluted leather to the seats, and a quilted transmission tunnel. A beautiful wooden Nardi steering wheel has been fitted, the original also comes with the car. To drive she is beautiful, the 3.0 litre engine has been well maintained and is strong with plenty of torque. The power all runs through the 5 speed Getrag gearbox which is incredibly smooth, before you know it you are in top gear and cruising along comfortably. The current Dutch owner has used her for several tours. A subtle EZ power steering system has been fitted for ease and wire wheels for aesthetics. In our showroom and ready for viewing. Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1963 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Standard Steel Saloon For Sale. Chassis no: SCX 797 Engine no: SX 398C Body no: 6609 Registration: 6621 DF Mileage: 28,000 Facing increasing competition from faster rivals and with development of its ageing six-cylinder engine nearing its end, Rolls-Royce turned to V8 power as the 1960s approached. The V8 was, of course, the predominant power unit in Rolls-Royce's most important export market - the USA - so it was only natural that the Crewe firm would study the best American designs - principally those of Chrysler and Cadillac - for inspiration. Introduced in the autumn of 1959, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II and Bentley S2 appeared externally unchanged from their 'Cloud and S-Type predecessors, though the duo's performance was considerably enhanced by the new 6,230cc aluminium-alloy V8 engine. Although wider and shorter than the 'six' it replaced, the new power unit fitted relatively easily within the engine bay, relocation of the steering box from inside to outside of the chassis frame being the most obvious alteration to the previous arrangements. Externally the new models appeared virtually unchanged, while beneath the skin Rolls-Royce's own four-speed automatic transmission was now the only one on offer and power steering was standardized. Launched in 1962, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III and its Bentley S3 equivalent employed the 6.2-liter V8 engine introduced on the 'Cloud II/S2 - though with larger carburettors, new distributor and raised compression ratio - and came with a four-speed GM-derived automatic transmission as standard equipment. Most obvious among many changes from the preceding models was the adoption of four-headlamp lighting, the absence of sidelights from the wing tops, and a slightly lower radiator shell. Inside there was improved accommodation with separate front seats and increased room for rear passengers. Notable as the last mainstream Rolls-Royce to employ a separate chassis, the Silver Cloud III proved immensely successful both at home and abroad, remaining in production until the autumn of 1965. This magnificent example is one of the most spectacular Cloud IIIs that we have handled, having only one owner from and covered a scant 28,000 miles. The car is pure and untouched, never needing paint, trim or wood work this is an original car in excellent condition. The paintwork is finished in Astral Blue over Shell Grey with a faint light blue coachline, the interior is beautifully covered in light blue Connolly Vaumol leather and carpet. Mechanically she is sound having always been maintained, it is a true delight to drive on the road, you get a real essence of how it would feel driving away from Crewe in 1963. This Cloud comes with a plethora of documents including a specially ordered road map from the AA giving directions to the Crewe factory, the original RR guarantee, Silver Cloud brochure, various invoices and Mots. This original Silver Cloud III truly is a piece of history, she is sitting in our showroom and ready for viewing. A gallery of large high-resolution pictures may be viewed on our website.
