1926 Vauxhall 30/98 OE The Vauxhall 30/98 OE has been one of the cornerstones of the VSCC since the inception of the Club and we are pleased to offer this well-documented and fully sorted example, which is in excellent all-round condition. Smartly finished in grey with black wings and red leather interior the car is of striking appearance. Rebuilt some 20 years ago (fully documented), with a replacement Julian Ghosh chassis (ROE17/OE232) and an Eric Peppercorn replica Velox body. The engine was rebuilt by Alistair Templeton and the gearbox by Hulks Engineering including all new gears and shafts, whilst the rear axle was overhauled by Ian Polson. Car has been fitted with a Peugeot front axle with 16 inch Perrot Brakes. Since completion, the car has been enjoyed and used for many VSCC rallies, hill climbs and sprints with notable success. It also travelled to the Fluella Pass Hill Climb in Switzerland and has toured Northern France and has also achieved first class awards in two Welsh Rallies. The current custodian has spent in excess of £65,000 on the vehicle by the present owner - over the last few years to ensure that the car drives superbly and it has proved to offer excellent reliability during long distance touring. There are two extensive files of documentation provided with this car including a VSCC Buff Form, photographic evidence of the rebuild and numerous bills, drawings and technical information. This car represents exceptional value. For initial enquiries please call us on 01420-474919 or 07710-364945 Viewing by prior appointment please. Introduced at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show as the 901 following Peugeot's complaints about the use of '0' model numbers. The early cars featured a short wheelbase chassis, a smooth 'flat six Boxer' engine and two-litre capacity that gave the car excellent performance. The preceding Type 356's rear-engined layout was retained but the 911 switched to unitary construction for the bodyshell and dropped the 356's VW-based suspension in favour of a more modern McPherson strut and trailing arm arrangement. The 911 model quickly found success with its great looks and outstanding performance with the capability to be a grand tourer or circuit race car. The 911 first appeared in the 1965 Monte Carlo Rally with victories coming in the 1966 and 1967 European Rally Championship. In 1968, the 911 emphatically established its credentials as a frontline rally car, works-entered 911s winning eight of the 15 European Championship rounds, firmly placing the 911 as a mainstay in historic rallying. Manufactured inJune 1966, this 1st Series Porsche 911 wood-dash was delivered new to Teaneck, New Jersey, USA. Recently the 911 has been extensively restored including a full engine and gearbox rebuild, a respray in the original Polo-Red livery, re-chroming of the brightwork, a new black leatherette interior and a renovation of all the instruments. The body and paintwork were carried out by 'Vehicle Experts Ltd., Europe, while the original matching numbers engine and gearbox were rebuilt by marque specialists in the UK. Completed to a very high standard, the vendor reports circa £70,000 has been spent on the restoration which was undertaken with the closest attention to detail. Baring the original specifications from new including the wood dash and steering wheel, this rare example is presented in very good order throughout and would be a great addition to any serious collection. This Porsche is offered with a copy of the old US Title and EU Customs duties paid documentation.]]

  • Auction: 6th/7th Mar 2020 - RM Sotheby's - Amelia Island Auction

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE at RM Sothebys' Amelia Island event, 6 - 7 March 2020. One of just 500 675LT spiders builtTrack-tuned, ultra-high-performance version of McLarens second modern supercarPresented in as-new condition; driven only delivery miles When automakers talk about taking lessons learned on a racetrack and applying them to production cars, few are as serious as McLaren Automotive. The British manufacturers rebirth as a builder of sports cars stemmed directly from decades of circuit-racing dominance with the striking 650S that bowed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2014.Sharing only its name with the wild McLaren F1 of two decades prior, the 650S paired a carbon-fiber chassis with active aerodynamics and a twin-turbo V-8 engine. A year later, McLaren took an even bigger step forward with the 675LT, the first McLaren since the F1 GTR nearly 20 years prior to bear the Longtail nomenclature. The 675LT amplified what McLaren learned developing the 650S. Focused on track racing, the 675LT upgraded every functional item from its 650S sibling. Its upsized carbon-ceramic brakes bring the car to a halt even faster, while special 10-spoke alloy wheels, weighing almost 1.8 lb less than those fitted to the 650S, help reduce unsprung weight. Additional use of carbon fiber sliced the curb weight even further. In short, McLaren took a scalpel and sharpened it.A year after the 675LT debuted, McLaren added an open-top spider version with a folding hardtop that allowed for sunbaked sprints to 60 mph in under three seconds. The 675LT spider offered here is one of 500 examples produced. Finished in Special MSO Bourbon paintwork and complemented by Carbon Black upholstery, it is striking to behold. The McLaren is optioned with $23,468 in MSO touches, including carbon-fiber wipers and mirror arms as well as the exterior and interior carbon-fiber upgrade pack for $10,690 and $6,270, respectively. Showing only delivery miles, 60 at the time of cataloguing, it is truly in as-new condition andready for top-down, open-road motoring at its most exciting. To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/am20.

We are proud to offer this magnificent Jaguar XK120 up for sale. The XK120 is a true 1950's style icon. First revealed in 1948 and manufactured up until 1954 the XK120 was revolutionary and the fastest production car available at its reveal. The curvaceous lines and promising performance figures caused a sensation upon its debut appearance and the car sold very well after being put in production shortly after. The XK120's played a huge part in the development of Jaguar race cars with three modified variants entering the 1950 24 hour Le Mans race and other examples entering the Mille Miglia and RAC Tourist Trophy. This particular example was manufactured in 1953 and supplied new to the USA finished in Pastel Blue. The car was imported to the UK and has subsequently had a no expensive spared attitude approach adopted to restore and upgrade the vehicle to a fast road but equally useable specification. During the extensive restoration the car was converted professionally to RHD. The quality of thecraftsmanship is confirmed by a comprehensive inspection by our in-house technicians. We have photos displaying the restoration work previously completed. The straight six Jaguar engine has been bored out and modified for fast road use. The car pulls very well with strong power though all of the gears. Uprated to a 5-speed gearbox this XK120 instantly becomes more drivable. The uprated gearbox makes this car even more useable on road trips or road rally's with its touring capabilities improved. Further upgrades including disc brakes all round give confidence to the driver and an added element of safety to the classic design. If you have any further questions feel free to call us on 01279 813907 Viewings are by appointment only.
