1924 Vauxhall 23/60 OD 'Kington' Tourer - A fine, imposing & powerful Vintage motor car! The 23/60 was introduced in July 1922 as the successor to the Vauxhall 25hp model that had proved its mettle during the Great War and had established Vauxhall's name as a byword for strength and dependability. The engine was essentially the same unit as the 25hp version but with overhead valves. This motor car - a 1924 'Kington' Tourer, was imported from Australia in 2013 and subsequently underwent considerable restoration, which included removal of wings, running boards and valences for repair as required. A total repaint was then carried out and the non original vinyl interior trim was removed and the car then retrimmed in brown leather to the correct pattern. A major mechanical service was carried out, including a refurbishment of the carburettor and renewal of the main jet. Additional work has included a rewire using correct cloth covered cables, re-nickel plating of all brightwork and fitment of new side lamps. The petrol tank has been replaced with a new stainless steel item. A pair of new 23" straight sided wheels were fitted to the front and the other three wheels were shot blasted and powder coated. New tyres have been fitted all round. The history of the car (chassis OD949) has been traced back as far as possible and a dating certificate confirms the year of manufacture as 1924. The Australian history goes back to the 1950s, when the car was owned by Percy Hunter, a well known racer and preparer of Vintage cars at the time. The current owner purchased the car from the widow of the gentlemen who had owned it since the '60's. At that time had the crankcase from an OE 30/98 and the gearbox from an E Type 30/98, but the cylinder block, bore size and OHV cylinder head were original OD23/60, giving a slightly larger capacity than the standard 4 litres, as the stroke is 10mm longer. A fine, imposing and powerful Vintage motor car, ideal for long distance touring and events, it has a very good hood and a full tonneau cover. There are a set of 20" wheels included, along with a hub puller. For more information and to arrange an appointment to view please call us on 07710-364945 or 07979-244195. We are based near Petersfield in Hampshire - just 10 minutes from the A3 - all viewings by appointment please.

Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1920 Vauxhall 30-98 E-type Velox Tourer For Sale. This well sought after 30/98 known as a gentlemans fast touring car which is known as being one of the fastest and cars of its era, with the handling qualities to match. Each model was delivered with a guarantee that it could achieve 100mph in stripped form. The early post first World War 30-98 bodies are arguably the prettiest and most appealing of all 30/98s, with the side valve E-type engine, the car sitting on beaded edge wheels & tyres. A no expenses spared restoration was undertaken by the previous owner who ordered a ground up concours with every aspect of the car being fettled to the highest standards. The trim work was sent to the renowned James Pearce, he fabricated the complete interior and even sent a letter to the owner stating how happy he personally was with the work. This charming Vauxhall also comes equipped with a full tonneau which can also be used as a half or ¾ section for solo driving. The body and chassis restoration was completed by well know Vauxhall restorers Alistair Templeton and Julian Ghosh who completed their work to concours standards, this is easily shown by the smooth lines of the body and the paint finish which has lasted 17 years so far and is still holding up to a higher standard than many fresh restorations. The engine rebuild was entrusted to marque specialist Phil Hill who has vast experience with rebuilding pre-war Vauxhall engines. Along with the correct 3:1 ratio rear axle the engine was fully rebuild to original specification. This is a great opportunity to own a VSCC approved 1920s car which is eligible to all events including, sprints, races, rallies, trials and of course hill climbs which thanks to the 30-98s torque are completed effortlessly and theres no need to panic coming back down as thoughtfully this Vauxhall is fitted with larger 16 finned Alfin type rear drum brakes. We can proudly say that this iconic British car is sitting in our showroom in fine order and ready for viewing. 1959 Vauxhall Cresta PA. 2262cc. Mountain Rose & Ivory with grey upholstery. The PA Cresta, announced 2 October 1957, is probably the best-known version. It mimicked the American fashion for tail-fins, wrap-around windows and white-wall tyres, taking its cues from the 1957 model Buick Special announced twelve months before the Cresta, though understated compared to the Cadillacs and Buicks of the time. All factory-built PAs were four-door saloons: the estate cars were converted by Friary of Basingstoke, Hampshire and are rare today. The PA Cresta had independent front suspension using coil springs and an anti-roll bar with a rigid axle and semi-elliptic leaf springs at the rear. The Lockheed brakes used 9 in drums all round. Carried over from the last of the E series cars, the 2,262 cc six-cylinder engine had pushrod-operated overhead valves and a compression ratio of 7.8:1 (a low compression 6.8:1 version was available); it produced 82.5 bhp (61.5 kW) at 4,400 rpm. A single Zenith carburettor was used. The transmission had three forward speeds. It was well equipped with leather and nylon upholstery for its bench front and rear seats and woven pile carpet. A heater was fitted as standard. The radio remained an option on the home market. Other options included fog lamps, reversing light, locking filler cap and external mirrors. In order to keep the front floor clear to seat six people the handbrake lever was mounted under the dashboard and the gearchange lever was column mounted. The car could be ordered painted in either single or two tone colours. A PA tested by the British magazine The Motor in 1958 had a top speed of 89.8 mph (144.5 km/h) and could accelerate from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 16.8 seconds. A petrol consumption of 25.2 miles per imperial gallon (11.2 L/100 km; 21.0 mpgUS) was recorded. The test car cost £1073 including taxes of £358. They tested the 2.6 Litre version with overdrive in 1960 and found the top speed had increased to 94.7 mph (152.4 km/h), acceleration from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) to 15.2 seconds and fuel consumption improved to 26.8 miles per imperial gallon (10.5 L/100 km; 22.3 mpgUS). The test car cost £1077 including taxes of £317. The car without overdrive cost £1014. This car has been lovingly restored and presents in super condition today as the photographs show, during the restoration many parts were renewed to include the steering, suspension, brakes, clutch and battery. The wheels were re-furbished, window rubbers replaced, a new wiring loom and new tyres. The car drives just as you would expect with a crispengine and smooth gearbox and is more than happy in modern traffic. Although now MOT and tax exempt a fresh MOT will be applied upon sale. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major debit cards accepted. Delivery can be arranged.
