1968 Triumph TR5 2500 PI manual / overdrive. Valencia Blue with Tan Leather upholstery and a Surrey top. The Triumph TR5 is a sports car built by the Triumph Motor Company in Coventry, England, between August 1967 and September 1968. Visually similar to the TR4 (also styled by Michelotti), the TR5 roadster sported Triumph's much more powerful 2.5-litre straight-6, fitted with Lucas mechanical fuel-injection and producing 150 bhp. Price pressures and tighter emissions standards in the U.S. resulted in a much less powerful carburetted version, the TR250, being sold on the North American market. At the time, fuel injection was uncommon in road cars. Triumph claimed in their sales brochure that it was the "First British production sports car with petrol injection". Standard equipment included front disc brakes, independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering and a four speed gearbox. Optional extras included overdrive and wire wheels. In 1968 the basic price of the TR5 in the UK was £1,260including taxes, with wire wheels being another £38, overdrive £60 and a tonneau cover another £13. The fuel-injected engine could propel the TR5 from 050 mph in 6.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 125 mph. The TR5 was produced in small numbers when compared with the later TR6, with just 2,947 units produced; the first car was assembled on 29 August 1967 and the last on 19 September 1968. Of these, 1,161 were destined for the UK market, the remainder were left hand drive and were exported to France, Belgium and Germany amongst other countries. This beautiful TR5 was subject to a total body off restoration in 1996 and is still in stunning order today with a large portfolio of photographs and receipts detailing the restoration and the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate. The history file also contains the original green log book and owners manual as well as a huge amount of bills and invoices dating back to 1976. It is an original UK supplied matching numbers right hand drive car andis well known to very respected TR Historian Roger Ferris. The cars underside is fully body coloured as are all wheel arches. The TR5 features many upgrades which have also improved the car to include a very rare aluminium Surrey top, Moss leather seats, Knock on Minilite alloy wheels, Spax suspension and a Bosch fuel pump. An expensive option that greatly added to the appeal of the TR5 was the unique Surrey top, a versatile hardtop arrangement consisting of an aluminium frame with a fixed rear window, a detachable metal roof panel and a simple soft-top for emergency use when the centre panel was removed. Available new or as an aftermarket option, the Surrey topped TR5s are in great demand today. Stylish, sporting and individualistic. This Triumph belonged to a prolific collector and is only available due to a change in circumstances. This car has not been offered for sale for many years and is fresh to the U.K market. Its high standard and reliability were confirmed on a recent test by ourselveswith the TR performing and handling exceptionally well, so far as to say its probably the best we have driven. Theres something about Triumph roadsters that means theyll never go out of fashion, and the TR5 is the one to have judging by the recent demand for this quintessentially British sports car. Absolutely any inspection is welcome and viewing is highly recommended. TR5's are in very high demand and prices rising rapidly, we see this car as a sound investment and one that will grace any collection or showground. All major debit cards accepted. Free delivery within the U.K mainland.

Ending a terrific line of models the TR6 finished production in 1976 and all subsequent models like the TR7 had unfortunately lost the Sixties feel and looks of the original TR range. So the TR6 was the end of an era of iconic cars. This example was produced in 1971 and is the revered 150bhp version with the Heritage certificate confirming it is an original Uk supplied rhd ,Signal red with overdrive car. Restored several years ago by a perfectionist she is the most perfect TR6 I have ever seen and likely never to be repeated. She was found abandoned in a London street complete with a tramp living in her! Once stripped down it was decided to embark on a project to restore to a stunning concours standard with no expense or detail spared. The panel fit ,detailing is outstanding and she has won many concours events over the past 6 years. This is a mighty performer with the slick overdrive gearbox meaning you can cruise at high speeds without stress. There is a history file accompanying the car including a full photographic record of the restoration, concours certificates, magazine articles, mots and invoices. To replicate this standard would cost over £60000 today plus a project car and I doubt if it could be as well executed as this one!

This top-class Triumph TR3A is an original RHD UK car still retaining its original engine, colour and registration mark. 612 PPD was first registered on the 6th May 1960 and supplied new it its first owner in the West of London who some years later re-located to the South Coast for retirement. The first owner kept the TR3A for 20 years and on the 26th January 1980 the car was sold to its second owner in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. Over the next four years the TR3A only covered 40 miles and in 1984 sold to its next long-term owner who over many years had the car fully rebuilt to a show standard condition. 612 PPD spent almost 30 years with its third owner and having rebuilt and enjoyed the car for many years, it eventually was in the hands of a Yorkshire based classic car collector who has displayed the car for the past few years. When purchased in 1984, the TR3A was MOT tested and then taken off the road by its new owner and eighteen years later in 2002 the car was finally ready for road use andshowing. Since completion in 2002, the TR has covered just 2000 miles so is today still in exceptional condition throughout. Whilst there are lots of invoices dated during the late 1980's, it was the late 1990's when the restoration really progressed. Records with the car detail the 2138cc power option spec liners were fitted to the engine and the cylinder head converted to unleaded. The overdrive gearbox was rebuilt, as was the rear axle and thousands of pounds worth of invoices detail lots of brand-new parts. The body has been completed restored, re-painted including underside, the interior fully re-trimmed, brightwork re-chromed, all new weather equipment fitted, and new chrome wires and tyres put on the car. Having covered so little mileage since rebuild, the car drives perfectly. Its fabulous on the road, the engine offers impressive performance, excellent oil pressure, the gearbox and overdrive are slick, and the car feels lovely and tight with a superb road holding. The wonderful drivingexperience is matched with fabulous appearance with a stunning paint finish, exceptional bodyshell, show class engine bay and the underside is exceptionally clean. The interior is of a very high standard and its clear this TR3A has been restored with absolute no expense spared. This TR3A is ideal for regular use and long-distance touring with the advantage of overdrive and the 2138cc liners and will appeal to collectors with its UK matching numbers and colour provenance. Price: 49,995
