We are delighted to offer this show standard Triumph TR3A onto the market. We have known this car for one year having first seen the car at Malton Show in 2017 where it won 'Best in Show' The car had been subject of a sixteen year rebuild completed in 2016 and since then the TR3A has covered just 800 miles. A wonderful level of detail has gone into the restoration resulting in a first class car. The car has been completed with no expense spared and has been finished to a level that is difficult to achieve. Hours upon hours have been spent in the garage detailing and finishing the car ensuring its totally first class throughout. This Triumph TR3A is a matching numbers car, confirmed from its Heritage certificate. The car has also been painted in its original colour of Sebring White and is completely correct as it left the factory with Red leather trim. The car spent its first forty years in California, supplied new by California Sales Inc, San Francisco and its last owner in the US owned the car fortwenty years in San Jose. The TR arrived in the UK requiring full restoration and photos in the history file show the condition. The car was then fully stripped and treated to a top class nut and bolt restoration. Two years and 350 miles after the restoration the car is quite simply outstanding. The bodywork is exceptional, the paint finish first class, the chrome work perfect and the interior has been beautifully re-trimmed. Full weather equipment is with the car and the boot has been superbly trimmed and the engine bay is show standard. The underside of the car is as impressive with a lovely painted finish. Having been completely rebuilt mechanically, we can confirm the TR3A is top class to drive with excellent steering, handling, braking and the engine and gearbox are both superb contributing to a truly superb driving experience. Mechanical work included stripping and rebuilding the engine and upgrading it with oversized liners as per the TR3B and TR4 engine with a cc of 2138. SU specialistsrebuilt the carburettors, the gearbox was fully overhauled, electronic ignition and a stainless steel exhaust system fitted. The TR was further upgraded with rack and pinion steering and all the brakes and suspension were completely rebuild with all components replaced or re-conditioned. There is no doubt this car has had an unbelievable level of care put into the restoration and finding an example that has clearly been so passionately worked on will be very difficult to find. Finishing touches such as a fully complete correct and original tool roll are also present. Price: 54,995

1959 Triumph TR3A; 1959 Triumph TR3A finished in the original colour scheme of Pearl Grey with contrasting red upholstery. The restoration of this beautiful example that has recently been finished has been a labour of love by the last owner and is a credit to his expertise and attention to detail. The car is as good on the underside as it is on the body and the engine bay is sheer delight. Everything on this car is working correctly and the car drives at least as well as it looks. Pearl Grey was a discontinued colour at the time of the original build and hence it must have been specially ordered at the time. With this car is a file of invoices and many of the parts were supplied by marque experts Revington TR in Somerset. There is also a detailed resume of every stage of the rebuild of the car together with a set of detailed photographs. This is probably the very best TR3A currently on offer and still competitively priced for such a beautiful example at 39,950

The Triumph TR3A was built between 1957 and 1961 by the Standard Motor Car Company of Coventry as a two seater roadster, and boasted a number of cosmetic upgrades from the standard TR3. These included a wider front grill incorporating indicators, exterior door handles, lockable boot handle and an improved interior. With the TR3A, Triumph were genuinely able to rival MG and Jaguar offering practical, 100mph-plus, performance at a reasonable price. Powered by a 2 litre, 4 cylinder, engine developing just shy of 100bhp, the TR3A was capable of reaching 60mph in just under 11 seconds. Consequently, the TR3 was campaigned in various motor sport events including; Monte Carlo Rally, Tour de France, 12 Hours at Sebring and the Mille Miglia, achieving numerous outright, team and class victories. In 1959 Triumph even entered three extensively modified TR3s to the 24H Le Mans race. At one point during the race one of the cars was running in overall seventh place before being forced to retire due to mechanicalissues with just over an hour remaining of the race. The Triumph TR3A offered at Autostorico is a 1959 registered car finished in Old English White with Black leather interior. Showing an indicated 91,336 miles this solid, rust free example underwent a full body off, restoration in late 1990s by Northern TR centre. Further restoration works include; brake overhaul, Full engine rebuild including unleaded fuel upgrade, suspension overhaul, upgraded rack and pinion steering, new electric fuel pump and the addition of an electric cooling fan. Other specification highlights include; original steering wheel, Jaeger period dials, tonneau cover, hood and various spare parts. This late Triumph TR3A was despatched on the 27th July 1961 and registered in 1962. The car was sold new by Standard Triumph Motor Company Inc, Boston, USA and from the vehicle Heritage Certificate the car was shipped from Southampton to USA aboard the vessel 'American Guide'. The TR3A was ordered new with heater, whitewall tyres and tonneau cover. Our TR has spent most of its life in the US, and it wasn't until the summer of 2014 the car made its way back to the UK. The car arrived in the UK in excellent mechanical order, in well-presented condition. The vehicle was soon sold to an Italian Doctor, a collector based in the North of Italy. Since then the car has been further improved with paintwork, ensuring it has a stunning, gleaming finish and some chrome work. Since coming back from Italy, in 2017 the TR has had 9000 spent on a full right hand drive conversion to include new steering column, steering rack and outer and inner steering shafts. Further recent work includes re-trimming the seats, dashboard and original steering wheel and new over-riders. Mechanical work includes new front brake calipers and brake pads, rear brakes shoes and wheel cylinders, rebuilding carburettors, new thermostat and electric fan, new control box, wiper arms, clutch pipe and new accelerator pedal. On the road the car performs superbly and handles superbly. The engine sounds terrific, holds excellent oil pressure and feels very responsive. This lovely RHD Home Market Triumph TR3A was built on the 2nd February 1959, despatched on the 13th February 1959 and supplied new by Macharg, Rennie and Lindsay Limited in Glasgow. Our TR3A was supplied new in Silverstone Grey with Red vynide upholstery, Black hood, disc wheels and registered new WGB 546. The car today retains a great deal of originality and is a superb driving, beautifully aged honest example that looks a real time warp in good cosmetic order and is exceptionally strong mechanically. We can trace mileage back to 34702 in 1988 confirming to us the car has covered 20,000 miles in the past thirty years. There is an impressive, comprehensive history file detailing expenditure throughout the 1990's and in 2001 the TR3A was treated to a light body restoration that included new sills and wing sections. The car was then treated to a re-spray in its original colour of Silverstone Grey and a photo record of the work is with the car. It would appear this is the cars only real restoration asit retains so much originality and the original seats would suggest this has been a very well-kept car that has likely covered low mileage as suggested by the history file. From 2012 to 2016 WGB 546 was kept off the road unused and in late 2016 the car came to us in part exchange. We spent in the region of 6,000 on the car that included five new tyres, wishbone and inner arm bushes, new front brake discs and pads, steering rack conversion (original steering box still with the car), replaced the differential nose seal, new engine mountings, new thermostat, thermostat housing and gasket, new coolant hoses, re-conditioned radiator, new cooling fan, new distributor cap, HT leads, coil, rotor arm, all fluids replaced, fuel filter changed, a new dynamo and regulator box fitted and the flasher unit and indicator switch were also replaced. A new set of sidescreens, a brand new hood, door locks and new windscreen seals were also fitted. Since late 2016 the TR3A has been in Halifax with long term customersand is absolutely on the button and driving lovely. The engine sounds terrific with very good oil pressure, it runs and performs superbly. The four-speed gearbox changes up and down smoothly, the steering is far more advanced than standard and the car handles and brakes well. WGB 546 looks like an original car with its nicely aged yet bright 17-year-old paintwork, panels are lovely and straight, gaps are very good and the brightwork in fine fettle. The interior has an ultra-original, honest feel and is lovely throughout, the gauges all work and the weather equipment is excellent. This is a fine example, its very correct, largely original and drives superbly. The car presents well and it has the provenance of being a UK car retaining its original registration mark, original colours and many original features. Price: 29,995
