The 911ST was a low volume competition special that found considerable success in circuit racing and rallying in the early 1970's. Produced by the Porsche motorsport department, it was sold as an upgrade kit for the 911S and T production models to circumnavigate homologation issues and allow customers to purchase the companys latest products for Group 4 competition. The factory produced a few works cars, but as is still the case today with current motorsport 911s, most were supplied to privateer teams. Originals featured highly developed small capacity engines producing 230 -250BHP depending on capacity, impressive horsepower from 2.3 2.5 litres at the time; however, they were never intended to be a road car and would make an unpleasant and unhappy companion on our often, congested tarmac today. This replica is based on a genuine LHD 1972 911 with a side `oil klapper` and is a car we first purchased from Switzerland back in 1999. It was fitted with a tired but genuine 1974 Carrera MFI engine, full 3.0 RSR bodywork and was generally, a very sound, drivable unfinished project. We originally sold the car to a local garage proprietor who fancied finishing the car himself, but ten years later, we ended up re acquiring the car, abelite now stripped and certainly requiring completion. Another one of our customers heard that we had the car standing in the corner and persuaded us to sell it to him for his own personal project. This time the car was stripped, rebuilt and turned into the car you see today. Inspired by the Group 4 ST circuit racers, the solid bare shell was adorned with steel rear arches, composite ST front arches, bumpers, bonnet and engine cover before being painted in a period creamweiss. The interior was fitted with a half roll cage, lightweight door cards lightweight carpets, momo prototipo and period lightweight seats that offer superb driver comfort. Whilst it was his dream to complete as much of the car as he could himself, working commitments eventually meant it was dropped to Francis Tuthill Porsche in Oxfordshire for completion. The suspension and brakes were restored and fitted with turbo track rods and later anti roll bars before a full geometry set up was carried out. The original magnesium gearbox and Carrera 2.7 MFI motor were also stripped and rebuilt, while the ZF LSD was inspected, cleaned and reassembled. The car was then fitted with genuine anodised 8x15 front and Minilte 9 x15 rear wheels and a period 3 exit exhaust system to complete the look. Although we have yet to weigh this car, its certainly lighter than an RS lightweight and is very likely to be close to 900kgs. Couple this with a rebuilt genuine Carrera 2.7 MFI engine, crisp shifting magnesium cased gearbox mated with a ZF limited slip differential and you have a road legal period 911, that will keep your eyes wide open on your favourite twisty road. With genuine examples being so limited and out of reach for the enthusiast, this car stimulates all of the senses, with the look and drama of an original ST, but at a fraction of the outlay.

![CDATA[For the privateer in the mid-1970s who wanted to go sports car racing (and, in particular, one who wanted to compete successfully at the famed 24 Hours Le Mans race), there was really only one viable option, the Porsche RSR. Introduced in 1973, the RSR was a factory-built racing car based on the 911 chassis. These were not converted road cars, rather purpose-built competition models designed and built from the ground up for serious racing use. In 1974, the factory made significant changes to the car including fitting a new 3.0 litre engine, wider wheels with centre lock hubs and improved aerodynamics. The result was a car that would dominate the GT category and challenge for overall wins around the world. The iconic Rennsport Porsche 911's are being built to bespoke specification in the heart of the Cotswolds, a continuation of over 25 years working on air-cooled 911s. Engineered by some of the most experienced Porsche technicians in the country, in a state-of-the-art building that createsthe perfect working environment, it ensures a stunning final appearance and superb quality from start to finish. This example is a rebuild of a 1985 original 930 a 3.3 litre, intercooled turbo. This 930 turbo RSR was originally a dry-use only, Gulf State lefthand drive with a great history, converted into a 1973 Carrera 2.8 RSR specification, with a fully galvanized body-shell. Completed in 2017 after a full body restoration by Rennsport, C58 XLY is finished in stunning classic Ivory, with Mexico blue decals and Fuchs 15alloy wheels (9' front and 10' rear). The sunroof has been restored to full working condition and brand new lights were fitted, front and rear, with chrome surrounds and metal chrome horn grills. The door handles were stripped and triple chrome-plated and front and rear screens replaced with the correct polished inserts. To complete the finish, the door frames and window trims were polished to match, along with genuine Porsche chrome flag mirrors. The underside of the car is in thesame condition as the top, being correctly anti-stone-chipped and sprayed in the body colour. The interior has been tastefully backdated with the correct salt n pepper lightweight Perlon carpet set complemented by brand new period blue tartan RS touring seats. The car also features factory fitted air conditioning and correct lightweight RS specification door cards with electric windows. After being showcased by Rennsport to demonstrate their bespoke build and restoration talents, this example and its sister car, a 1979 930 Turbo Rennsport RSR, were offered for sale in late 2017; both cars were snapped up immediately but due to the purchasers circumstances changing, we are delighted to have been given the opportunity to bring C58 XLY to the market today. The quality of the build and finish is as staggering as the ferocious performance producing an estimated 380 bhp and sounding every bit as good as she looks - all this in a car that weighs just circa 1,250 kg compared to a modern day Porsche 911 at1,745 kg.This is a rare opportunity to purchase a car to enjoy immediately without the usual wait for your Rennsport built Porsche to be finished. A flawless finish matched to precision engineering combined with an on-the-road 911 experience second to none, the new owner is sure to be the envy of many a Porsche and classic car enthusiasts, viewing is strongly recommended. ]]
