Restored by Porsche Centre Hatfield in 2014 as part of the Porsche Classic restoration competition, whereby each Porsche Centre is tasked with purchasing and restoring a classic Porsche model, this 911 2.4T Targa has been subject to a no expense spared restoration.
Originally finished in Sepia brown, it was supplied into Philadelphia, USA in 1973. It then made its way to UK shores in 1995, then sporting a white paint finish and was destined to be left in a garage unloved for the next 18 years.
It was then purchased by Porsche Centre Hatfield in June 2013 where it was treated to a comprehensive, and very well documented, restoration totalling over £65,000
As part of the restoration process, the engine was also upgraded. The work included an oversize re-bore with high-lift S camshafts, lightweight pistons, machined throttle bodies with S injectors and a modified oil pump. The cylinder heads were ported to 36mm, compression was increased by skimming the barrels and the crankcase was honed.
The car was also treated to some more modern twists that wouldnt have been available in period, these include red seat belts with matching stitching and dashboard details. Alcantara dashboard, door tops and door handles, and as a nod to the more modern Rennsports of today, this example has also been finished in Porsche Grey black, a colour originally found on the 997.2 GT3RS.
The Targa was then presented at the 2014 Porsche restoration event in Brands Hatch where it won the Fans choice award.
A structurally sound, restored early 911 Targa finished in a timeless colour which has covered under 1,000 miles since its restoration. Previously for sale when completed at £149,995, today it is far more competitively priced. Please call today to register your interest.
