Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1916 Packard Twin Six Typhoon For Sale. This Series One Packard Twin Six was first owned by an Australian, and was originally fitted with a tourer body. Returning to England in the 80s and being laid up until purchased by the current owner in 2012. With the body being unusable he decide to set about recreating the Typhoon Body from original pictures, only making subtle changes to please the eye. The result is truly remarkable with a huge open wheeled racer that looks fit for Goliath. The overall condition is exceptional with not even a drip of oil on the 6950cc, 3 bore, 5 stroke engine. The engine is mounted to a 3-speed gearbox and an overdrive addition on 2nd and top gears allowing an increased top speed and taking the strain from the engine, the Typhoon really is a pleasure to drive on the road with a more than acceptable cruising speed as well. The dashboard is made from beautifully varnished wood adorned with period Jaeger instruments and three switches for fuel, ignition and overdrive. The front seats are finished in period styled button leather with the drives seat fitted to adjustable rails. Removing the rear compartment cover unveils a beautiful single rear seat, covered with the same button leather, there is also a selection of tools and a custom fitting cover. The car have been loved and used in various events including Beaulieu, Prescott and even took 4th place (out of 200) in the 2017 Brooklands Double Twelve Event. In our showroom and ready for viewing. 1952 Packard 200 Deluxe Touring Sedan. Gallant Green with grey upholstery. The 1951 Packard 200 and 250 were introduced as Packard's least expensive model range on August 24, 1950, taking the place of the low-line Packard Standard models which were eliminated for the 1951 model year. The 200 debuted as part of the fully redesigned Packard line, attributed to John Reinhart. Replacing the bulbous 1948-1950 Packards in the 22nd and 23rd Packard Series, Reinhart's "High Pockets" design was more formal than its predecessor, and would serve Packard until the end of the 1956 model year when true Packard production ceased. This 200 was fully restored before arriving in the U.K in 2016. The 4.7 V8 engine is super smooth and when ticking over is almost silent. The manual gearbox is also in great order selecting all gears with no issues. On test drive the car performed well with plenty of power, no diff or axle noises and quite content in modern traffic. The paintwork is very sharp and gives a beautiful sheenand all the brightwork sparkles showing no signs of degrading or pitting. The interior is fresh with no rips, tears or any sagging. The car starts on the button and is a real pleasure to drive and is just waiting to be enjoyed by its new owners. Now MOT and Tax exempt this must be the best value way to own a classic car. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major credit and debit cards accepted. Delivery and shipping can be arranged.

A very rare Packard "shovel nose" produced for just two years. The powerful 5.2 litre straight eight is a paragon of smoothness & power. This car has had extensive works done to it starting with an engine rebuild & culminating in fresh paint in dark blue & black along with a retrim in pale blue leather. As a result the car is in superb order starting readily & showing a surprising turn of speed in modern traffic conditions. The coachwork is Packard's own 2 door coupé with a dickey seat fitted to the rear. About 500 examples are thought to have been produced. Long, low & rakish it typifies Americana of the period in the best Capone style. In addition to the fresh paint & interior, new tyres have also been fitted. The brakes have also had a thorough overhaul as has the fuel tank & assorted engine ancillaries. A new clutch was also fitted during the refurbishment process. The car is thus ready for extended touring & long distance use. Only when you drive one of these Packard's do you realise quite what superb cars they are.

1939 Packard Super Eight Touring Sedan Chassis number: 1 272-2339 Registration number: 125XUP A concours example with over 200k spent on its restoration. You have to see this car to appreciate how good it is. The car needless to say, is in nut & bolt brand new condition. This Packard has covered less then 1000 miles since restoration & really ought to be run in gently over the next 500 miles. • Auction: 18th/19th Jan 2018 - RM Sotheby's - Arizona Auction

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE at RM Sothebys' Arizona event, 18 - 19 January 2018. Estimates:$350,000 - $425,000 Some of the most rare and desirable Darrin Packards are the 1941 and 1942 models, featuring the new, up-to-date Clipper-inspired styling with the models signature extended hoodline, low veed windshield, and cut-down doors. As before, these automobiles were essentially hand-built to individual customer order; just 35 were produced in 1941.The DeAtley Darrin was sold new on 29 May 1941 to Howard Viet of Pebble Beach, California, by Stahl Motors of Monterey. Mr. Viet owned the car until his passing in the early 1950s, after which his widow sold the car to Mark Raggatt of Carmel, a longtime family friend. Mr. Raggatt exhibited the Packard at the Pebble Beach Concours dElegance in 1956, when it was largely still a small local charity car show.Subsequently, the car passed through the hands of early Packard enthusiasts Patrick Young and Tom Mix, then several Midwestern collectors, including the late Harold Mistele. In 1990 it was purchased by Bill Weltyk of Oak Brook, Illinois, who sourced a correct 1941 engine block (replacing the 1948 block in the car), which was completely rebuilt, and had the engine compartment detailed and fitted with new wiring. Much of the chrome work was refinished or replaced, and the body professionally stripped to bare metal, blocked and sanded, and refinished in the year-correct color of Saratoga Beige, with a new leather interior and wood-grain and plastic dashboard, per original specifications.Neil DeAtley acquired the Packard in 2007 from well-known specialist Tom Mix, and it has been maintained in his distinguished collection for over a decade. It was occasionally driven and shown in local CCCA Arizona Region activities, and has been well maintained in beautiful overall condition. This is a particularly beautiful and well-kept Darrin, long considered among the most well preserved and to have the best-known ownership history of any surviving1941 model. It would be an ideal addition to any distinguished Packard collection, or, alternatively, a superb CARavan automobile, offering outstanding performance that is some of the best of its era.To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/AZ18.

  • Auction: 18th/19th Jan 2018 - RM Sotheby's - Arizona Auction

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE at RM Sothebys' Arizona event, 18 - 19 January 2018. Estimates:$50,000 - $70,000 After World War II, Packard took opportunity of its extraordinary brand loyalty by offering a new wood-trimmed model, ideal for a wealthy owners country house. The new model was dubbed the Station Sedan, and was essentially a Standard Eight sedan that featured beautifully hewn white ash paneling over an all-steel body, a unique semi-fastback roofline, and rear quarter panels. While it looked for all the world like the woodies of old, wood played a structural role in only the tailgate, which pioneered the two-piece gate that would become a feature of most all 1950s wagons. The model was lush, evocative of a bygone era, and one of Packards most elegant offerings. Unfortunately, the buying public for the model just was not there. The vast majority of Station Sedans were produced in 1948, with leftovers being re-numbered to sell in 1949 and, finally, in 1950. Very few have survived, making this last of the wood-trimmed Packards a great rarity. The Station Sedan offered here was purchased by its current owners in 2007 from Dennis McKrown of Sunset Beach, California, and received over $2,000 in service work in 2014. It is finished in the correct factory color of Egyptian Sand with an authentic brown vinyl and cloth interior, and appears to have been well maintained for decades, as inspection indicates that all of the body wood remains original factory timber from 1948. The car is equipped with a factory-installed AM radio and heater, overdrive, and amber fog lights, and its odometer notes 18,826 miles at the time of cataloguing. A period McKeown Surf Boards sticker on the rear windshield is a charming touch. This is a wonderful, honest Station Sedan for highway cruising in sunny climes. To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/AZ18.

  • Auction: 18th/19th Jan 2018 - RM Sotheby's - Arizona Auction

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION at RM Sothebys' Arizona event, 18 - 19 January 2018. Estimates:$225,000 - $275,000 This 136-inch-wheelbase Packard Standard Eight was bodied by Hermann Graber, who enjoyed a reputation as Switzerlands finest coachbuilder for decades. In many ways, its styling resembles a downsized version of a Mercedes-Benz 500 K of the period, as it has broad chrome beltline molding, sweeping fenders, and a blind-quarter top with landau irons, as well as an elegant rounded trunk. The interior is beautifully appointed, with finely tailored leather upholstery and armrests built into the door panels, which are beautifully capped in walnut. The overall effect is of traditional Packard construction but with a distinct European touring flair. The car was discovered in London in 1972 by popular American tenor and automobile collector, Sergio Franchi. Franchi loved the Packards lines and brought it home to the U.S. with him. The Packard was beautifully restored in its present two-tone blue liveryby Ted Billing, of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, who was, at the time, very well respected for his quality work.As it felt very modern for its time, and was very reliable, the Graber-bodied Eight became a favorite CARavan car for Sergio and Eva Franchi, and it was enjoyed on the road until Mr. Franchis untimely passing in 1991.Today the Packard continues to wear a well-maintained restoration, with such wonderful touches as dual side-mounted spares and chrome trim strips that descend over the trunk and accent the beltline treatment. The car is fitted with dual fog lamps and dual horns, ideal for the touring purposes for which it has so long been enjoyed. The Graber Packard could be happily shown or, more appropriately, returned to the road, where it could be enjoyed in the manner of its famous and passionate longtime owner. To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/AZ18.
