This absolutely stunning Mini Cooper S MK3 left the assembly line at Longbridge on the 2 June 1971 and is 1 of only 792 manufactured for the British market. Looking completely of the era in timeless and unmolested Glacier White with Dark Blue interior it was the subject of a complete, body off restoration just a couple of years ago and has had very little use since. The interior has been totally re-trimmed to original specification including new carpets. It also has the original engine with a 'Downton' cylinder head, one of many produced for 'special tuning' as part of their tuning kits. With MOT certificate until July 2008, it comes complete with a very extensive history folder including invoices/MOT's and a Heritage Certificate. This must be one of the most desirable Minis on the road today and it's sure to generate a great deal of interest. 1998 Rover Mini Cooper S Touring in Tahiti blue with white roof, bonnet stripes and mirrors. This could well be the very best remaining Cooper S Touring in the World due to its condition and remarkable mileage of just 1060 from new. It was built under the supervision of Tony Franks, John Cooper's chief mechanic and workshop foreman at the John Cooper's Workshop. This is Car number 98-S-132 and has an upgraded engine with high lift rockers, larger inlet valves and a high compression cylinder head mated to a three branch exhaust manifold. Silencing is via a Janspeed silencer with twin upswept pipes exiting the rear which is still in great condition after 20 years. The S Touring was built with a higher ratio final drive of 4.2:1, enabling less engine revs at speed resulting in comfortable high speed touring, hence the Touring name. As part of the conversion the S Touring spec included an alloy filler cap, John Cooper chrome door treads, alloy signed door furniture and walnut door handles. This example also has a John Cooper sump guard, and very rare and special cream high quality leather seats with black piping. The interior is a special part of the car and due to being so immaculate sitting in it is a privilege. The mini was waxoiled underneath at John Cooper Garages in 2001 on just 241 miles and as a result the underneath has been fully protected and shows no signs of any corrosion. It has been serviced by its 3 owners 7 times with stamps in the book on each occasion. I also have every past MOT, both sets of keys and a nice history file inc John Cooper Garage brochures. The exterior paintwork is all original and immaculate as are the wheels and chrome trim. Driving this mini is where it all comes together. As soon as you start the engine the distinctive sound of the Janspeed exhaust is there and it revs so freely. As soon as you accelerate down the road the first this that hits you is the refinement and quality of this mini as well as the way it builds its revs and propels you down the road. As soon as you let off the throttle the pops and bangs put and smile of your face and you really know what driving fun is all about! I cant think of a more exciting investment opportunity than this. To be lucky enough to own a 20 year old Cooper S Touring from John Cooper Garages on just 1060 miles makes this a once in a lifetime opportunity.
