1936 MG VA Saloon - Significant History- Olympia Motor Show Car We sold this car earlier this year - but due to personal circumstances - we are now seeking a new custodian for this fine motor car. Introduced for 1937, the VA series - or One and a Half Litre as it was officially known, was to be the replacement for the NB Series Magnette. Powered by a twin carburettor version of the Wolseley 12/48 engine, the MG VA was available in Tourer, Saloon and Drop Head Coupe versions. Presented for sale here is an historically interesting MG - this car bears chassis number VA 0251 and was the first ever example of the VA Saloon produced. the car was exhibited at the 1936 Olympia Motor Show and was also used by the factory for many publicity photographs and by the press for road test reports. During this period the factory fitted the registration number ABL 999 and a photograph of the car bearing this registration is included. There are several features which are unique to this vehicle and did not appear on production models two notable features being the fitment of twin spare wheels and the inclusion of the special Octagon type Lucas side-lamps, which had appeared on the MMM series MGs previously. In recent times, the original engine has been rebuilt and bored out to 1.7 litres as with the police specification VA models which were supplied to various constabularies. The car was discovered by a former owner in 1980 and subsequently exported to Holland where it underwent a meticulous restoration over the next ten years. During the Winter of 2008/2009, the original 1936 engine was rebuilt and together with the correct gearbox were refitted to the car. This MG VA was to return to the UK in August 2008 and with the help of the MG Car Club, the original 1936 registration number was returned to the car. Today the car presents in very good order a testimony to the quality of the restoration. There are many delightful period features and the original toolkit, workshop manual and various spares are also supplied. The original leather upholstery remains in extremely good condition and the whole interior exudes a delightful Art Deco ambiance. The car comes with extensive history and period information along with photographic records of the rescue and subsequent restoration. Early viewing is recommended. (Please note these photos were taken as she arrived today - she will be prepared this week). For initial enquires please call us on 01420-474919 or 07710-364945 Viewing by prior appointment please.

1937 MG TA - Excellent restored example with MG Registration The replacement for the PB Series Midget came in the form of the all - new T Series model midway through 1936 This was an entirely new design with a 7 longer wheelbase and increased track, giving much improved comfort and considerably more room in the cockpit. The engine was now an OHV unit of 1.3 litres developing 50 bhp which gave a top speed approaching 80 mph. Priced at £222 ex works, the TA - is it became retrospectively known - represented very good value. Some 3003 were produced before production ceased in 1939 and the TB was introduced. This fine blue example was first registered on 1st March 1937. Acquired by the current family in 1991, the car underwent a chassis-up restoration during the 1990s and has been lovingly cared for since. It is to the original specification and is fitted with a delightful period radio, as well as the essential luggage rack. Bearing the original registration number of MG 5234, the car has the correct set of tools and a large file of documentation. For initial enquiries and to arrange an appointment to view - please call us on 01420-474919 or 07710-364945. This exceptional original right hand drive MGA Coupe was built between the 2nd and 8th April 1957 and exported new to Switzerland where it has been for the majority of the past 61 years. The MGA was supplied new with wire wheels and kilometres speedo. The MGA has been registered in Switzerland since new and has been meticulously maintained and pampered throughout its life and was also subject of a 1990's restoration. Swiss traffic regulations are extremely strict on car quality, maintenance and overall condition and a stringent Matriculation roadworthy process and check must be carried out to keep the car on the road. This car also has a valued Swiss veteran status meaning it has been subject to a more detailed examination. The MGA has spent most of its life in the sunny region of the southern Swiss Alpes and we are told the car has had just three owners in its lifetime. The last owner, one of our regular customers based in both Switzerland and the Netherlands bought the MGA in 2014. He and hiswife bought the car as a wedding present and it spent most of its time at their Schwyz property and it has been used sparingly in both Switzerland and Holland. They found the car in Ticino whilst enjoying a drive around the Lago Maggiore, the MGA was in the display at the Classic Bugatti Garage Belotti in Locarno in Southern Switzerland. The Bugatti Garage had the MGA displayed with other numerous classics and were convinced of its premium quality and overall excellent condition having known the car very well. The quality of this MGA is first class with exceptional paintwork and bodywork. We know from the history file the car had substantial work during the 1990's and it still retains a beautiful, deep paint finish with superb panels and gaps. The engine bay is superbly presented yet still very usable and the underside is absolutely first class. On arrival the MGA was submitted to our workshops for a check over and we can confirm the car is in excellent mechanical order. The engine is superb withexcellent oil pressure, the four speed gearbox is strong with excellent syncromesh and the brakes, steering and suspension system are all working perfectly. The interior has recently been treated to re-trimmed leather seats and new door cards giving the car an all-round first class finish. The MGA will be UK registered for its next owner if staying in the UK. Price: 34,995
