1937 MG TA - Excellent restored example with MG Registration The replacement for the PB Series Midget came in the form of the all - new T Series model midway through 1936 This was an entirely new design with a 7 longer wheelbase and increased track, giving much improved comfort and considerably more room in the cockpit. The engine was now an OHV unit of 1.3 litres developing 50 bhp which gave a top speed approaching 80 mph. Priced at £222 ex works, the TA - is it became retrospectively known - represented very good value. Some 3003 were produced before production ceased in 1939 and the TB was introduced. This fine blue example was first registered on 1st March 1937. Acquired by the current family in 1991, the car underwent a chassis-up restoration during the 1990s and has been lovingly cared for since. It is to the original specification and is fitted with a delightful period radio, as well as the essential luggage rack. Bearing the original registration number of MG 5234, the car has the correct set of tools and a large file of documentation. For initial enquiries and to arrange an appointment to view - please call us on 01420-474919 or 07710-364945. Our Motor Cars are presented at The Garage in Hampshire, which is well-lit, dehumidified and has 24 hour CCTV.

1929 MG 14/40 Two-Seater with Dickey MGs exploits in motor sport commenced when Cecil Kimber entered a specially tuned and modified Morris in the 1923 Lands End Trial and winning a gold medal. By 1926, modified Morris Oxford 14/28 chassis were being fitted with special MG bodies. These cars still featured the Bullnose radiators and were most attractive, creating much interest among motorists seeking a sporting motor car with a reasonable price tag. When the Morris radiator was replaced with the flat type, the MG was designated 14/40 as opposed to the earlier title of 14/28. The 14/40 was referred to as the MklV, although confusion sets in when it appeared that some MKlll 14/28s also featured the new flat radiator. Sales were to increase rapidly as the MG established itself and a move to larger premises in Edmund Road, Oxford saw MG become more independent of Morris culminating in the formation of the MG Car Company in 1928. The 14/40 holds the honour of being the first MG to win a race and also the first model to carry the famous MG octagon badge on its radiator. Between 1926 and 1929, 851 examples of the 14/40 were produced in two-seater, four seaters and saloonette styles. Supplied new to a Mrs Margaret Eames and first registered in Staffordshire on 14th April 1929, this MG 14/40 is the Two Seat Tourer version. By 1936, the car was residing in County Cork, Ireland, where it was to have a further three owners before being acquired by Mr Tom Byrne of Carnew, County Wicklow. In 1981 it was purchased by a gentleman in Dublin, before passing into the next owners hands five years ago. During its time in Cork it was used on a number early rallies, including the first Munster Vintage Car Rally in 1956. Today, the MG remains in very good, smart order and runs well. It is one of just five examples of the 14/40 Two Seaters known to survive. A rare opportunity, this delightful early MG is offered with much documentation including the original drivers handbook. Additional photographs will be added as soon as she has been prepared. For initial enquiries and to arrange an appointment to view, please call us on 01420-474919 or 07710-364945.

1936 MG VA Saloon - Significant History- Olympia Motor Show Car We sold this car earlier this year - but due to personal circumstances - we are now seeking a new custodian for this fine motor car. Introduced for 1937, the VA series - or One and a Half Litre as it was officially known, was to be the replacement for the NB Series Magnette. Powered by a twin carburettor version of the Wolseley 12/48 engine, the MG VA was available in Tourer, Saloon and Drop Head Coupe versions. Presented for sale here is an historically interesting MG - this car bears chassis number VA 0251 and was the first ever example of the VA Saloon produced. the car was exhibited at the 1936 Olympia Motor Show and was also used by the factory for many publicity photographs and by the press for road test reports. During this period the factory fitted the registration number ABL 999 and a photograph of the car bearing this registration is included. There are several features which are unique to this vehicle and did not appear on production models two notable features being the fitment of twin spare wheels and the inclusion of the special Octagon type Lucas side-lamps, which had appeared on the MMM series MGs previously. In recent times, the original engine has been rebuilt and bored out to 1.7 litres as with the police specification VA models which were supplied to various constabularies. The car was discovered by a former owner in 1980 and subsequently exported to Holland where it underwent a meticulous restoration over the next ten years. During the Winter of 2008/2009, the original 1936 engine was rebuilt and together with the correct gearbox were refitted to the car. This MG VA was to return to the UK in August 2008 and with the help of the MG Car Club, the original 1936 registration number was returned to the car. Today the car presents in very good order a testimony to the quality of the restoration. There are many delightful period features and the original toolkit, workshop manual and various spares are also supplied. The original leather upholstery remains in extremely good condition and the whole interior exudes a delightful Art Deco ambiance. The car comes with extensive history and period information along with photographic records of the rescue and subsequent restoration. Early viewing is recommended. (Please note these photos were taken as she arrived today - she will be prepared this week). For initial enquires please call us on 01420-474919 or 07710-364945 Viewing by prior appointment please.
