![CDATA[The Jensen FF is a four-wheel drive grand tourer produced between 1966 and 1971. It was the first non all-terrain production car equipped with four-wheel drive and an anti-lock braking system, the Dunlop Maxaret mechanical system, used hitherto only on aircraft, trucks, and racing cars. The use of four-wheel drive in a passenger car preceded the successful Audi Quattro & Subaru by many years. The letters FF stand for Ferguson Formula after Ferguson Research Limited who invented the car's system. The FF is related to the similar-looking, rear-wheel drive Jensen Interceptor but is five inches longer and mechanically very different. The FF can be distinguished from the Interceptor by a few styling cues; the most obvious being the twin (rather than single) diagonal air vents on the front wing just rear of the wheel-arches. Originally registered to Janeen Sebag-Montefiore in 1969, the Sebag-Montefiore family were partners with the Rothschilds in the world of banking. Purchased from EverReadyGarage Ltd in Dublin, they looked after the car until they closed in 1980 and subsequently one of their mechanics looked after the car until recently. Janeen Sebag-Montefiore sold the car in the late 1970s and the Jensen spent a number of years in storage before being purchased by Robert Wootton, an Irish musician and entrepreneur. Some two years ago the vehicle was purchased by the vendor and immediately underwent restoration work. Presenting now in delightful condition, this Jensen FF is in a factory one off blue with grey leather trim. Extensive work has been carried out to ensure this handsome example is ready to be used and enjoyed by a new owner immediately. Jensen FFs are very rare; this Mk.I example is one of only 198 examples manufactured, they have a reputation for being outstanding to drive with road holding commensurate of four-wheel drive vehicles. Now registered on UK number plates, this Jensen is one of the best examples we have seen for a long time. ]]

Now Available at Peter Vardy Heritage we are proud to showcase the 1975 Jenson Interceptor a true gentleman's express. A total of 6,408 Interceptors were produced between 1966 and 1976 of which only 509 were Convertibles. These cars were designed by Carrozzeria Touring with the bodies being made of steel and, in May 1972, the RHD models had increased their engine capacity to 7212cc. This Interceptor comes with an extensive history file that includes numerous invoices, receipts, old MOT certificates and it also includes the Jensen Interceptor handbook and Convertible supplement along with a workshop manual for the car. The indicated mileage of this gorgeous-looking Interceptor is just 25,000 - a plausible though unwarranted figure supported by the sheer quality of the interior, engine bay and underside of the car. The automatic gearbox and torque converter have been replaced in recent times, though just 4,000 miles have been covered in the last 16 years. Finished in lustrous metallic blue, andtrimmed in black leather, this lovely combination of British engineering and American muscle would surely grace any classic car collection and represents a fantastic 'blue chip' investment opportunity. The Jensen Motor Company was started by Alan & Richard Jensen in 1934 producing Jensen-Fords using Ford V8 chassis. In 1936 they started producing their own cars and some commercial vehicles during the war years. The 541 was first produced in 1953 and the car described below was first registered in 1956. It was acquired by the last owner in 2010 as a 'Barn find' requiring total restoration in order to return it to its former splendor. It was an excellent basis on which to begin as it had only had 5 owners and the mileage was apparently low. The body was removed from the chassis and stripped back to bare firbreglass before being proffessionally repainted to the highest standard in the original Old English White. The chassis was found to be in a sorry state and has necessitated major restoration and once the fabrication was completed it has been correctly powder coated and was returned to perfect condition before the car was re-assembled. The 4 litre, 6 cylinder Austin engine and gearbox wereentrusted to the renowned and sadly missed Dennis Welch who did a fabulous job and the engine has been upgraded to 'Fast road/rally' specification. Other items addressed duing the rebuilding process were steering and brake components all rebuilt or replaced with new, exhaust replaced with a new stainless steel system, all glass and perspex has been replaced and new rubbers fitted, the doors were completely rebuilt using new frames and other componant parts, all of the chromework has been rechromed or replaced, a new wiring loom has been fitted and all electrical components rebuilt or replaced, a new fuel tank has been fitted together with appropriate new fuel lines and new electric fuel pump. A new water radiator has been fabricated to the correct pattern but with additional capacity and all hoses replaced. The car now sits on brand new 16' chrome wire wheels with stainless steel spokes and new Avon Turbospeed tyres. Finally the interior trim has been completely replaced in burgundy Connelly hidewith Wilton carpet throughout and the trimmers work is to the highest standard. If you are seeking a Jensen 541 and you require the best then look no further. This car is sensibly priced at 72,500 and is bound to continue to appreciate.

1974 Interceptor 3 7.2 Automatic Finished in grey metallic with red leather interior 84,000 recorded miles Registered new on 1st February 1974, records show that it was first registered official Jensen dealer T.G.Reynolds Ltd of Cambridge as their demonstrator vehicle. Originally finished in Havana brown but change to the far more desirable shade of metallic grey whilst undergoing a body restoration by the highly regarded Jensen body specialist Colin Holley/C&H Autos in 2006. As testament to the quality of Colin's workmanship, the bodywork is still gleaming over 10 years later. Since then the vehicle has been maintained by renown Jensen specialist Richard Appleyard Engineering from where there are several invoices on file. Since acquisition Avantgarde have carried out a very thorough programme of work which has included commissioning a full re-trim in red leather, extensive under-bonnett detailing which has involved the removal and refinishing/re-plating of many components, the results of which arestunning. A very well sorted Interceptor which benefits from a host of upgrades which bring this vehicle up to date. This includes an uprated air conditioning system which uses a more efficient, modern rotary-type compressor, Fosseway Performance big brake kit and 17' alloy wheels in the original 5-spoke design. A most attractive Interceptor.
