The ultimate development of the sleek and exclusive Jensen 541, the 'S' model featured a wider track which allowed for a considerably roomier cockpit and improved road holding. The revised frontal styling was given a more conventional slanting radiator grille and the specification included a Salisbury limited slip differential. Powered by a modified version of the 4 litre Austin DS5 straight six engine fitted with triple SU carburettors the 541S was amongst the highest performance GT cars of its era. This model was also notable for being the first British car to boast seatbelts as a standard fitment and another 'first' was the use of Dunlop disc brakes all round. A Motorola radio was also a standard fitment. Between 1960 and 1963 just 127 examples of the 541S were built and only 20 were fitted with manual transmission with overdrive - this car being one such. Finished in metallic red with its original deep red leather upholstery and with just 52,800 miles to its credit, this excellent and rare Jensen has had just three previous owners. It was off the road in storage between 1985 to 2016 and was then carefully recommissioned and a high quality repaint carried out. A very rare opportunity to acquire a Jensen 541S with known history from new and such low recorded mileage. First registered in Surrey in May 1961, the car retains its original registration number and is offered with a large file of documentation plus the original and extremely rare instruction manual. Also included are several early service bills dating back to 1964. For more information and to arrange an appointment to view, please call us on 01420-474919 or 07710-364945. Viewing strictly by appointment please. We are located near Petersfield in Hampshire between the A3 and the A32.

FUE 53M was ordered on the 12th December 1973 and left the factory on the 26th February 1974, distributed to dealership Philip Mist Autos, Soho Hill, Handsworth, Birmingham. The car was supplied new to its first owner, W G Allen & Sons, Classic Works, Holyhead Road, Wednesbury in Staffordshire. From early records, we know the Jensen had covered 15010 miles by 1975. The car was extensively used throughout the 1970's and 1980's and by 1987 the car had covered 91823 miles and had two Wolverhampton based owners since being supplied to W G Allen & Sons. In 1989 the Jensen was purchased by Richard Calver, a well-known and respected authority of Jensen cars who published the book 'History of Jensen'. The car was purchased for 1200 as a non-runner and it was taken to Jensen for evaluation. The car was then subject of a restoration that included inner and outer sills, floor panels, new front wings, new inner box sections, front and rear lower panels, rear wheel arch sections, gearbox overhaul, new torqueconverter, brake discs, ball joints, handbrake caliper, brake pipes, suspension washers and bushes. 5000 of factory parts were purchased and all work was carried out by Ron Long & Sons Ltd on Dudley Road in Oldbury, West Midlands. The work was completed by May 1990 and then taken to the Jensen bodyshop to have the paintwork buffed properly. Some interior detailing work was also carried out. The Jensen was put back on the road on Friday 22nd June 1990 with 92806 miles recorded. The Jensen authority used the car for JOC weekend and later in the summer returned to Australia, leaving the car in the UK to be sold. The Jensen was sold in 1991 to a neighbour of one of our long term customers near Kidderminster, he covered just 1500 miles and then laid the car up for over 20 years. We recovered the Interceptor in late 2015 requiring re-commissioning work and quickly found a buyer, a long term customer of ours in Maidstone, Kent. Thousands of pounds were spent on the car to include a full strip down andre-paint in the Jensen colour Reef Blue. Chrome work was re-plated, the wheels re-furbished, all new seals, weather strips and rubbers fitted and interior work included a new headlining. The body on strip down was found in excellent order having been garaged since the major body restoration carried out in 1990. A mechanical program of work included new steering rack, starter motor, alternator, thermostat, thermostat housing and gasket, new water pump, coolant hoses, manifold to front pipe gaskets, fuel hose, gearbox tail shaft seal, gearbox sump gasket, diff nose seal, engine mounts, gearbox mounts, front and rear brake discs and pads, handbrake pads, brake flexi hoses, rear shock absorbers with new bushes, swinging shackle bushes and all new ignition and service items. The air-conditioning system was overhauled and is working, tyres were replaced and further improvement since leaving us include Edlebrock carburettor and lightweight aluminium manifold from Martin Robey. A tracker has also beenfitted and over 5,000 spent on restoring the seats in Connolly leather. Other more recent new parts include a windscreen and power steering hoses. Since this huge expenditure the Jensen has covered a further 500 or so over the past 18-24 months and was voted runner up to Best in Show at the 2017 Kent Classic Car Show where 600 cars attended. The mileage is today recorded 94,920 and the car is quite simply outstanding. The bodywork and paintwork are first class, the interior beautifully presented and having covered so little mileage since a major mechanical overhaul the car is mechanically excellent. The Interceptor drives superbly with fabulous power and performance and has been superbly detailed with a lovely under bonnet, boot with original jack and re-furbished wheels and brightwork. FUE 53M is a beautifully prepared example with excellent history, provenance and is a car capable to regular use, long distance touring and worthy of any collection. Price: 59,995

Cast your mind back to the late 60s the news a grim mixture of industrial strife and discord in the Middle East. No wonder we longed for an escape; and the cinema provided it. It was a world where supercars were celebrated and a Technicolor drive to the French Riviera in a massively powerful GT was the done thing. So the stunning Interceptor stared in many films with its beautiful Touring of Milan styling and unique back window design. The Interceptor was launched in 1966 as an up-to-date replacement for the fast-but-raw C-V8. Its all-steel body was as rigid as a monocoque and was a radical step for Jensen. Sadly, the Interceptor and Jensen in its initial incarnation after producing only 6,000 units petered out in 1976. However, just like Mike Tyson, it wasnt averse to the odd comeback: first during the 1980s and 90s, and again in 2007. Thats a reflection of the popularity of the Interceptor, and proof that were all suckers for a healthy dose of escapism. This beauty looks resplendent finished in original Yellow with black hide and is one of only 87 rhd UK supplied examples built She was a factory demonstrator for a year, even used in television programmes and celebrity loans. At a price of just under £10000 when new the convertible was a veritable bargain compared to the Rolls Corniche at £16000 ! She has enjoyed constant maintenance during the years all documented in the comprehensive history file and most Jensen specialists have been involved In the servicing inc Cropredy, Appleyard,Rejen etc. Original build sheets and invoices are filed confirming original yellow colour and engine from new and mots are also documented The condition today is a testament to their high quality of workmanship and she looks and drives extremely well On the road she is more GT than sports car, but great fun in the country and effortless in the city. Youll be amazed at how little it rolls in bends and how simple it is to accurately position and, with a good-sized boot and rear seats, its a car you can enjoy every day. Fuel consumption aside. For the money, theres little to touch an Interceptor and they have been undervalued for years and the classic car pundits are predicting a great investment opportunity. Supplied fully inspected ,serviced and with a 12 month comprehensive warranty.
