The 1966 London Motor Show saw the launch of the Jensen Interceptor, designed by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan. Jensen's new model saw a radical change after the fibre glass body construction of the CV8 and 541 models. The Interceptor featured an all steel body and the chassis featured independent front suspension with a live rear axle and disc brakes all round. The Chrysler 7212cc V8 engine was used offering outstanding performance, and the interior was finished to an incredibly high standard featuring Connolly leather and Wilton carpets. The Interceptor was built to a high specification with electric windows, power steering and air-conditioning. In 1969 saw the launch of the Interceptor II which saw minor changes to the cars frontal styling and interior and a further update was seen in 1971 with the introduction of the MKIII model featuring alloy wheels and larger capacity engine offering 330bhp. This beautifully presented Royal Blue example was supplied new on the 19th October 1973 firstregistered 999 SPC. The Jensen was supplied new by Charles Follet Ltd, London to a Mr Laubscher Esq in Kensington, W8. The Jensen was ordered new from the factory in Mustard with a Black vinyl roof and Black leather and in the first two years covered around 8000 miles and paperwork with the car confirms various early warranty work to include a new wiper rack, fan switch, dip switch, flasher unit, new pinion oil seal, new half shaft oil seals and new exhaust silencer. Having later changed hands, the Jensen was re-registered RUF 787M and we know from paperwork with the car that a lady owner in Somerset owned the car during the late 1990's and early 2000's. She sold the Jensen in 2002, the car then having another Somerset based owner who during his time of ownership had the car fully re-painted in Royal Blue. In 2011, the Jensen was sold to an Isle of Man based Estate Agent who played a key role in the Isle of Man classic car scene. From 2011 to 2018 the Jensen was on the Isle of Man and severalinvoices from Jensen specialists Richard Appleyard Engineering Ltd are with the car. It would seem the Interceptor had gentle use, attending many of the Isle of Man classic car events before returning to UK mainland in 2018. The car was delivered to Richard Appleyard Engineering and put through a program of work to include a new steering rack, new alternator, new front suspension poly bushes, two uprated window cogs, a new electric choke and new Wilton carpet set. In the region of 5,000 has been spent on the car but due to a change in circumstances, the new owner has not used the car and it stayed in storage until we collected it from the Derbyshire based specialists. The Jensen has arrived with us in lovely condition, presenting exceptionally well with a stunning, deep Royal Blue paint finish. The bodywork is excellent with structurally superb straight panels, an excellent underbody and no major blemishes or concerns. The chrome work is all of a high standard, alloy wheels are in lovely conditionand the under-bonnet area presents well. The Black leather trim has beautifully aged and whilst we cannot guarantee the mileage, the largely original trim does fit with a recorded mileage of little over 70,000. The leather is clean, smart, well presented, the headlining is in lovely order and the dashboard and walnut are in very good condition. Having inspected the Jensen in our workshop, we can confirm it has a strong 7212cc engine that holds impressive oil pressure reading 70psi under acceleration on a mechanical gauge. The engine offers impressive performance, the automatic gearbox changes perfectly up and down the gearbox and the car drives incredibly well. Having not been used over the past 12 months or so, the Interceptor will be freshly serviced and supplied with 12 months MOT and warranty within our asking price. This is a very sharp, well presented and incredibly usable Interceptor III that should offer excellent value. Price: 49,995

Now Available at Peter Vardy Heritage we are proud to showcase the 1975 Jenson Interceptor a true gentleman's express. A total of 6,408 Interceptors were produced between 1966 and 1976 of which only 509 were Convertibles. These cars were designed by Carrozzeria Touring with the bodies being made of steel and, in May 1972, the RHD models had increased their engine capacity to 7212cc. This Interceptor comes with an extensive history file that includes numerous invoices, receipts, old MOT certificates and it also includes the Jensen Interceptor handbook and Convertible supplement along with a workshop manual for the car. The indicated mileage of this gorgeous-looking Interceptor is just 25,000 - a plausible though unwarranted figure supported by the sheer quality of the interior, engine bay and underside of the car. The automatic gearbox and torque converter have been replaced in recent times, though just 4,000 miles have been covered in the last 16 years. Finished in lustrous metallic blue, andtrimmed in black leather, this lovely combination of British engineering and American muscle would surely grace any classic car collection and represents a fantastic 'blue chip' investment opportunity. OJF 789F was supplied new to Charles Follet Limited, Berkeley Street, London, finished in White with Black trim and power assisted steering on the 25th June 1968. A copy of the original invoice, Jensen Motors Ltd guarantee claim form and early maintenance records with Jensen Motors are with the car. We are pleased to report this lovely early Interceptor is still in its original colours and specification, and appears to be correct, unmolested and remarkably original with a mileage of 96,750 that is highly likely to be genuine. History and paperwork with the car tells us the mileage was 82,019 in 1986 and a further 14,000 miles were covered over the next ten years. In 1996 OJF 789F was placed in a central heated garage where it spent 18 years off the road. Having been dry stored for so many years, the car was treated to a brake overhaul and some light re-commissioning and MOT tested in November 2014 at 96,304 miles. 200 miles were covered over the next year, the Jensen MOT tested again in early 2016with 96593 miles. Since then, the MKI Interceptor has been owned by a Harrogate based collector who has dry stored the car. The car has arrived with us presenting as a very honest, original looking car requiring some light re-commissioning having once again spent some time in storage. OJF 789F looks very smart with attractive, high quality older paintwork and smart chrome, has a beautifully aged original trim with superb Black leather seats, good quality door cards and walnut dash. The V8 engine is strong and in very good order, as is the gearbox. We are happy to sell the Jensen in its current condition at the listed price, or alternatively MOT test, service and carry out any required re-commissioning work for an agreed fixed cost. OJF 789F is a beautiful looking, impressive car, and finding honest, largely original early examples can prove very difficult. This is a car that should be enjoyed on the open road, it would be fabulous for long distance touring so we hope its next owner begins to coversome serious miles after just 400 miles in the past 23 years. The Jensen Interceptor Mk. III was introduced in 1971 and was fitted with a 7.2 litre, V8 and included air conditioning as standard. In 1974, the convertible was manufactured with only 506 units produced. The Interceptor was not a shape that took readily to being converted to a soft top therefore the whole rear end of the car was restyled with more square-cut lines and a traditional boot lid. This restyling was a complete success giving the car a very balanced profile, especially with the roof down. Jensen had switched from glassfibre to steel for its car bodies. The Interceptor took its styling cues from the Brasinca Uirapuru, with a distinctive large, curving wraparound rear window that doubled as a tailgate. The original specification included electric windows, reclining front seats, a wood rimmed steering wheel, radio with twin speakers, reversing lights and an electric clock. Power steering was included as standard from September 1968 with the convertible version as one of Jensens mostsought-after models. Originally registered on 15th May 1974 and supplied by Guy Salmon Ltd., this Interceptor Convertible is a delightfully handsome example and is finished in metallic blue with cream leather interior and a blue hood. The cabin of a Jensen is an area of beauty with an array of dials and switches. The original service books are present together with letters from Jensen Motors Ltd and a Statement of Origin. The 7212cc, V8 engine sounds superb and we are advised she drives with no known faults. The vendor has owned the car since 2006 and she has always been garaged, the only reason for selling this Interceptor is due to lack of storage space. With only four former keepers, clearly this has been a much loved and well cared-for example throughout its 45 years on British roads. The exceptionally low mileage is indicative of how well this Jensen has been looked after.]]
