US export returned to RHD during its restoration with a colour change from SableEngine rebuilt in 2008 and converted to UK spec with triple SU carbs and a stainless exhaustBrakes, suspension and rear axle have all received attention during the past 5 yearsSupplied with UK V5c, Heritage Certificate and MOT'd until 9.7.18Some cars need no introduction and the Jaguar E-Type is no exception. The Series II Jaguar E-Types that were produced from 1969 to 1971 can be identified by their open headlights (no longer with glass covers), a wrap-around rear bumper with the tail lights now underneath, and the front indicators were larger and similarly repositioned below the slightly heavier front bumpers. The cooling was much improved helped by the enlarged 'mouth'. Series II cars also feature twin electric fans and uprated brakes. The engine is easily identified visually by the change from smooth polished cam covers to a ribbed appearance and for US-spec cars, twin Stromberg carburettors were used. Theinteriorand dashboard were also redesigned, with flick switches being substituted by rocker switches to meet U.S regulations. This particular 1970 Jaguar E-type Series II Fixed Head Coupé was dispatched from Browns Lane on 13th November 1970 finished in Sable over a Cinnamon leather interior. In left-hand drive form with a manual gearbox, it was destined for distributor British Leyland, New York. The early part of its history in the States is unknown, but we know that it returned to the UK and was registered with the DVLA on 14th October 1988. From 1997 to 2011 the car was subject to a rolling restoration and was converted to right-hand drive, with the bodywork fully restored and freshly painted in Carmen Red. In 2008, the engine was fully rebuilt to UK specification including triple HD8 SU carbs and a stainless steel exhaust. A photo album logging much of this work accompanies the car.The owner, prior to our vendor, carried out a host of mechanical work from 2012 - 2016 which included; a specialistrearaxle rebuild with 3.07:1 ratios and speedo recalibrated to suit, overhauled calipers with new brakes discs and pads, new Gaz adjustable dampers on the front, poly-bushed front and rear suspension, new steering rack and track rod ends, a period radio/cassette, and service items such as fluids and filters. Much of this work was carried out by specialist Racing Green for which a £3,200 bill is included in the history file. Eagle-eyed E-type enthusiasts will notice that this car has a plastic leaping-cat emblem located on the side of the bonnet along with a narrow strip of chrome trim around the nose - late Series II features according to the Jaguar E-type Restoration and Originality Guide by Dr Thomas F. Haddock. This lovely E-type, now finished in Carmen Red with a Cinnamon and Biscuit interior, is supplied with its Jaguar Heritage Certificate (matching numbers), a UK V5c, an MOT until 9th July 2018, the restoration photo album, and a host of invoices from various parts suppliers. With JaguarE-typeprices continuing to soar, this Series II FHC is in fine usable condition and represents superb value in today's market.

CKL are pleased to offer this remarkable Jaguar MKII 3.8, a real icon for motoring history. The Jaguar MKII made its first appearance in 1959 and was quickly voted car of the year. The MKII came with 3 engine options: 2.4, 3.4 or 3.8, with the 3.8 being the fastest production saloon car of the time. The Mk2 (1959-1967) 3.8 Litre with the 220 bhp engine was capable of accelerating from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 8.5 seconds and could reach a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h). Due to its high speed and acceleration capabilities, the MKII became highly popular with the Police Force, which at the time was subject to the all-new motorway. It wasnt long before the MKII would find itself on the track and would capture the attention of period racers such as Graham Hill and Jack Sears. This LHD MK2 was subsequently imported and sold by legendary distributor Delecroix in Paris. It was restored in the late 1990s while under the ownership of Toulousain French Rally driver Claude Desperon (Targa Florio revival 2000, Sicily 3rd Rallye Pyrénées Auto Autosur Classic, both in Porsche Carrera RS 2.7) and who, notably, raced this Mk2 in the 7th tour dEspagne (2005). Offered in British racing green, with tan leather trim and wire wheels, it has a four-speed gearbox with overdrive. It is fitted with power assisted steering, oil cooler, electric fan, dual fuel pumps, in-engine bay fire extinguisher system, Terratrip Rally Computer and a limited slip diff. The current owner (son) brought the car to the UK in 2015 from the French Riviera with the intention of rallying it in Continental Europe. As a four-door saloon with left hand drive, it is infinitely more comfortable to rally than an open two-seater, whilst still being very quick. Approximately EUR10,000 has been spent on the car since being brought to the UK, mainly with Jaguar racing specialist CKL. It is reluctantly being sold because the owner is unable to rally it, as originally intended. Please dont hesitate to contact us if you require any further information.
