![CDATA[The Jaguar Mk. II was built as a successor to the 2.4 and 3.4 litre models which were manufactured between 1957 and 1959. It was a handsome, powerful and good handling saloon which was offered with a choice of three six-cylinder twin cam engines; 2.4 litre, 3.4 litre or 3.8 litre. Raced by all the top drivers of the day including Graham Hill, Roy Salvadori and Michael Parkes, the Mk. II has scored victories throughout saloon car races in the sixties and was also raced across Europe in the Tour De France and Monte Carlo rally. This 1964 Jaguar Mk. II was registered in the Netherlands in 1990 and almost immediately after that, was subject to a complete nut-and-bolt restoration which was fully documented with photographs. These images, included in the history file, immediately show the high standard of restoration this vehicle has been treated to. Every inch of the car, including bodywork, engine, drivetrain, upholstery, woodwork and chrome has been checked and where necessary given a newlease of life in the best way possible. The 2.4 litre engine has been completely taken apart and overhauled, including the four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. After the bodywork was completed, it received a bare metal respray in a beautiful and elegant metallic blue, even underneath. The grey leather upholstery, which of course has been completely renovated as well, matches perfectly with the exterior and has helped to achieve the sophisticated look and feel of the original car. The restoration took almost nine years at a total cost of around £70,000 and, despite being completed some time ago, it has been perfectly maintained. Therefore this beautiful Jaguar still looks, drives and handles like it left the Browns Lane factory only yesterday.]]

![CDATA[The 2.4 saloon of 1955, retrospectively known as the Mk. I, had been a major step for Jaguar, marking the change from a coachbuilt chassis to one of unitary construction. It was a necessary move however, Jaguar being aware there was a strong market for a more compact saloon than the big Mk. IX. Powered by a 2,482cc version of the superb twin cam straight six XK engine, the 2.4 offered luxury, performance and value for money. Using coil spring/wishbone front and semi-elliptic spring rear suspension, it possessed fine road manners and proved a great success, both on and off the track, particularly when it became available with the 3.4 litre engine in February 1957. It was in October 1959 that the Mk. II version appeared, making a good car even better. Similar in appearance but with a much larger glass area, it boasted a wider rear track to improve road holding together with minor front suspension changes to reduce body roll and all round disc rather than drum brakes. Engine options includedthe 120bhp 2.4 litre, the 210bhp 3.4 litre and, for the first time the 220bhp 3,781cc unit of the Mk. IX. Considered by many in Jaguar circles to be the best combination for the iconic Mk. II Jaguar, this example is offered in opalescent metallic blue and is a matching numbers 3.4 litre manual with overdrive motorcar. This example is in splendid condition throughout and was originally supplied to Jaguar Export in South Africa in November of 1965, this can be identified by the Dating Certificate found within the history file. Upon inspection, the car starts on the button with a fabulous note produced from the exhaust and engine. During our appraisal we were given the opportunity to raise the car and we were delighted to see the underneath presents as impressively as the remainder of the car and contained within the boot is the spare wheel. We are informed between 2015-2016 the car was restored which included a new wiring loom and retrim with new chrome to complement the paintwork and optionalWebasto sunroof. This is a great example of an iconic Mk. II with the best combination of the larger and powerful 3.4 engine coupled to the manual gearbox and working overdrive. With an attractive estimate this is a great drivers' car which is sure to be a solid investment.]]
