A California car, this car was in the noted Blackhawk collection for many years in Danville California, prior to finding its way back to its home shores a couple of decades ago. This is a very original & honest car in fine order throughout & has not been the recipient of major restoration work. The interior is delightful & has a lovely feel to it. The car is finished in Jaguar cream with a red interior as specified on the heritage sheets. The paint has one or two minor age related cracks that do not detract in any way from the lovely overall appearance of the car. The car starts readily & the 3.4 litre motor pulls well & has good compression. Being an overdrive car it is long legged on the road running well in modern traffic. It sits on wire wheels retained by knock-off hubs. A full stainless steel exhaust has also been fitted along with recent master & slave cylinders. New brake pads & discs have also been fitted. Overall this is a good original car in fine order rather then a concours fresh out of restoration car. As such it has a lovely feel to it so missing in redone cars. The car comes with a good assortment of bills attesting to regular no expense spared maintenance since its return to the UK. ![CDATA[The Jaguar XK150 was manufactured between 1957 and 1961 and despite having a family resemblance to the XK120 and XK140, the XK150 was radically modernised. A one piece windscreen replaced the split screen and the wing line no longer dropped as much over the doors. The bonnet was widened, opened down to the wings and on the roadster, the bulkhead was moved back four inches to make the bonnet longer. In the interior, the XK140's walnut dashboard was replaced by a leather trimmed unit. The standard engine, the same as fitted to the XK140, was the 3.4 litre DOHC Jaguar straight-six rated at 180bhp at 5750rpm. Either wire wheels or disc wheels could be specified and the suspension and chassis were very similar to that on the XK140. These were high performance, well appointed sports touring cars and could cope with long distances with alacrity.Having been manufactured on 14th July 1958, this genuine righthand drive XK150 is presented in resplendent RAF blue with contrasting grey leather interiorand navy blue carpets. This XK150 has had some recent restoration work over the past few years and clearly to a very high standard. Showing 75,000 miles, we are informed by our vendor the engine runs and starts perfectly and has been recently fettled. This Browns Lane Jaguars is supplied with a stainless steel exhaust system, Kenlow fan, chrome wire wheels with Verdensten tyres and upgraded Cooper Craft front brake calipers originally an automatic example this Coupé was also converted to manual gearbox. In addition NNJ 535 has benefitted from a replacement headlining and front windscreen whilst recently the bumpers and overriders have been re-chromed and various brightwork restored. A genuinely lovely and well prepared XK150 that we are informed wants for nothing. This example would look equally at home at any classic car show as it would do touring the great British countryside, bristling with charm and Jaguars typical effortless elegance.]]

Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1958 Jaguar XK150S 3.4 Litre Roadster For Sale. Registration: 655UYG Chassis no: T831551DN Engine no: VS1341-9 Body no: F16567 The ultimate expression of Jaguars fabulous XK series of sports cars arrived in 1957. The XK150 was a progressive development of the XK120 and XK140, retaining the same basic chassis, 3.4-liter engine and four-speed Moss transmission of its predecessors. It benefited from a new, wider body that provided increased interior space and improved visibility, courtesy of a single-piece wrap-around windscreen that replaced the XK140s divided screen. Cleverly, the new body used many XK120/140 pressings, the increased width being achieved by means of a 4-wide central fillet. A higher front wing line and broader radiator grille were other obvious differences, but the new models main talking point was its Dunlop disc brakes. Fade following repeated stops from high speed had been noted on the earlier, drum-braked cars, but now the XK had stopping power to match its prodigious straight-line speed. The XK150 was available at first only in fixed and drophead coupé forms; the open roadster version didnt appear until the following year. At 190bhp, the engines maximum power output was identical to that of the XK140, so performance was little changed. Special Equipment and S versions came with 210 and 250bhp respectively, the latter delivering an astonishing 0-60mph time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 136mph. This was achieved by the introduction of the Weslake-developed straight-port cylinder head, high-compression pistons, triple 2 SU carburetors and twin electric fuel pumps. The car regularly recorded in excess of 130mph in magazine road tests. The Jaguar XK150 is undeniably one of the worlds fastest and safest cars. It is quiet and exceptionally refined mechanically, docile and comfortable we do not know of any more outstanding example of value for money, declared The Autocar. This fantastic XK150S Roadster has in recent years had a full ground up restoration to the highest of standards and has covered just 425 miles since. The end result is truly remarkable with all the body gaps being millimetre correct. The underneath and wheel arches are as immaculate as the exterior which has an almost faultless high polish finish. Underneath the bonnet the same quality remains, not just to look at though, as soon as soon as you turn the key the 3.4 Litre Tri-Carb engine fires up and runs beautifully even from cold. Various modern upgrades have been fitted for ease with modern motoring, these include electronic ignition and power steering. A true masterpiece that really does need to be seen, this Jaguar is currently located in the owners climate controlled garage so please call and arrange a viewing. 690 KVA was manufactured on the 28th April 1960 and is a genuine UK, matching numbers car. The car was distributed from Ritchies, Glasgow on the 13th May 1960 and spent most of its life in Scotland. In 2012 we collected the Jaguar north of the border and sold the XK to one of our long term customers of twenty five years, a South Yorkshire based Dentist. Our Sheffield based customer owned the XK for five years and last year we sold the car to another long term friend of the business, a prominent South Wales JEC member and collector. During the early 1990's 690 KVA was subject of a major rebuild by one of Scotland's top restoration firms. The car was fully rebuilt mechanically, fitted with Vicarage Power Steering and the body restored then painted in Jaguar Cotswold Blue and the interior trimmed in Grey leather. Classic Restoration then winter stored the XK for almost twenty years. The XK only had summer use and just 4500 miles were covered to 2012. the During its five years in South Yorkshire, thecar covered a further 1000 miles and was subject of around 4,000 of further work to enhance the car. Vicarage Ltd supplied parts to service the power steering with a new alternator belt and power steering pump belt, Guy Broad supplied upgraded rear brakes, electronic ignition, a negative earth Facet fuel pump and poly wishbone bush set. Jaguar specialists M&C Wilkinson have stripped down the front suspension, installed new stub axles, new bearings, replaced top ball joints and re-shimmed bottom ball joints. Since last year the XK has been treated to electronic igntition and has atteneded several shows in South Wales. 690 KVA comes back to totally on the button and in glorious condition. It drives superbly with a wonderful engine holding excellent oil pressure. The four speed Moss gearbox is delightful to use, the overdrive comes in smoothly and with upgraded brakes, rebuilt front suspension and Vicarage power steering the car is just fabulous to drive as expected with less than 6000 miles sincerebuild. The XK presents incredibly well with a stunning glass finish. The Cotswold Blue paintwork is excellent, the body is sharp with lovely panels and chrome work including wires is very impressive. The engine bay presents well as a usable and superbly restored car and the underside is smartly presented and in excellent order. The re-trimmed upholstery has aged nicely with impressive leather, high quality carpets, headlining door cards and dashboard. This is a car that really does drive as well as it looks and should prove a fabulous purchase. Price: 89,995

This is a truly outstanding car and most certainly an XK150 3.8 FHC of significant interest. This very late Jaguar XK150 was manufactured on the 10th June 1960, despatched on the 24th June and distributed by Henly's Limited, London to Stubberfields Garages, St.Leonard on Sea, Sussex. PDY 840 left the factory in the special-order colour of Pippen Red with Black leather upholstery, limited slip differential and non-overdrive gearbox (now fitted with 5 speed gearbox, original gearbox with the car). This is one of only 656 cars produced in this specification and is the 102nd from last made by Jaguar. Jaguar records show the car was purchased by Mr W.T.M Jennings of GT Jennings & Co Ltd, Camber Beach Works in Rye, Sussex and he owned the car until 1970. The XK was then sold to its second owner, a publican in a village near Towcester, Northamptonshire who kept the car for 33 years. Whilst a publican, he was also a car dealer and repairer and obtained many cars for his own personal use, PDY 840 being oneof them. The third owner was based in Lancashire and having been off the road for several years, the car was sympathetically restored due to being purchased in remarkably original condition. On inspection prior to restoration the whole under body and chassis were found to have been oil sprayed regularly accounting for the remarkably well-preserved condition. The body was totally stripped down to bare metal and photographs are present showing the sensational body shell right down to metal. The condition of the body is quite remarkable for an original UK car and it was fully re-painted in its special-order colour of Pippen Red. The interior was found beautifully original with patina and did not require work and some of the chrome work was renewed. Mechanical work included some carburetion work, a new brake servo unit, 'Kevlar' water hoses, renewed servo pipes, new clutch, clutch master cylinder, re-conditioned steering rack, new gear lever bushes, new rear axle bearings, seals, one half shaft, newover axle flexi pipe, rear brake callipers and handbrake mechanisms were cleaned, greased and re-shimmed and lock wired and new 'Mintex' brake pads were fitted. After five years of reliable use, the XK went further north to Edinburgh for three years and in 2013 was sold by us to the last owner, a Jaguar enthusiast based in Wiltshire who has enjoyed covering several thousand miles in the car and attending and occasionally winning shows. The XK was the People's Choice winner at the Downton Engineering Works event and two years running won Best in Class at the Bath Festival of Motoring. Since we last sold the XK150 in 2013 it has been further improved with electronic ignition, five speed gearbox, all new chrome wire wheels and tyres and shortly before we sold the car, the beautiful original upholstery was improved with a new headlining. Over the past five years the XK has covered in the region of 4000 faultless miles and has been a delight to own. Whilst the car was sympathetically restored in 2004,it does still retain a very original feel to it. It's remarkable the original Black leather seats are in the car and still look lovely, the whole interior is largely original and clearly indicate this has always been a car cherished and nurtured. The body is still excellent, the Pippen Red paintwork nicely mellowed fourteen years on since being re-painted and the chrome work gleams. As when we sold the car in 2013, it drives tremendously well but is further enhanced with the five speed gearbox conversion. The 3.8 engine unit delivers impressive performance, its quick, responsive, sounds wonderful and the car is ideal for long distance touring with its 3.54:1 ratio Salisbury Thornton Axle giving a 'long legged' sporty drive. PDY 840 is a great car in every respect and one we are delighted to welcome back after five years in the South West. This car will not disappoint and opportunities to find an XK in such a rare special order colour will not be easily repeatable. Not only does the car have someinteresting history and provenance, it's a very correct car, as it left the factory with the exception of some sensible upgrades (original parts with the car).
