Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1958 Jaguar XK150S 3.4 Litre Roadster For Sale. Registration: 655UYG Chassis no: T831551DN Engine no: VS1341-9 Body no: F16567 The ultimate expression of Jaguars fabulous XK series of sports cars arrived in 1957. The XK150 was a progressive development of the XK120 and XK140, retaining the same basic chassis, 3.4-liter engine and four-speed Moss transmission of its predecessors. It benefited from a new, wider body that provided increased interior space and improved visibility, courtesy of a single-piece wrap-around windscreen that replaced the XK140s divided screen. Cleverly, the new body used many XK120/140 pressings, the increased width being achieved by means of a 4-wide central fillet. A higher front wing line and broader radiator grille were other obvious differences, but the new models main talking point was its Dunlop disc brakes. Fade following repeated stops from high speed had been noted on the earlier, drum-braked cars, but now the XK had stopping power to match its prodigious straight-line speed. The XK150 was available at first only in fixed and drophead coupé forms; the open roadster version didnt appear until the following year. At 190bhp, the engines maximum power output was identical to that of the XK140, so performance was little changed. Special Equipment and S versions came with 210 and 250bhp respectively, the latter delivering an astonishing 0-60mph time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 136mph. This was achieved by the introduction of the Weslake-developed straight-port cylinder head, high-compression pistons, triple 2 SU carburetors and twin electric fuel pumps. The car regularly recorded in excess of 130mph in magazine road tests. The Jaguar XK150 is undeniably one of the worlds fastest and safest cars. It is quiet and exceptionally refined mechanically, docile and comfortable we do not know of any more outstanding example of value for money, declared The Autocar. This fantastic XK150S Roadster has in recent years had a full ground up restoration to the highest of standards and has covered just 425 miles since. The end result is truly remarkable with all the body gaps being millimetre correct. The underneath and wheel arches are as immaculate as the exterior which has an almost faultless high polish finish. Underneath the bonnet the same quality remains, not just to look at though, as soon as soon as you turn the key the 3.4 Litre Tri-Carb engine fires up and runs beautifully even from cold. Various modern upgrades have been fitted for ease with modern motoring, these include electronic ignition and power steering. A true masterpiece that really does need to be seen, this Jaguar is currently located in the owners climate controlled garage so please call and arrange a viewing. The Jaguar XK150 was introduced in the spring of 1957, as a replacement for the XK140 and was available as a fixed and drophead coupe. Whilst the 150 was similar in design to the outgoing model it was considerably more refined. A one piece windscreen replaced the split screen and the wing line no longer dropped as much over the doors. The bonnet was widened, opened down to the wings and on the roadster, the bulkhead was moved back four inches to make the bonnet longer. In the interior, the XK140's walnut dashboard was replaced by a leather trimmed unit. The launch specification of the XK 150 included SU carburettors, four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, independent front suspension with wishbones, coil springs, torsion bars and anti-roll bar, rigid rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes. In 1960, Jaguar increased the engine size to 3781cc, providing the cars with a class-leading 220 bhp. The optional 150 S variant, was tuned to develop 265 bhp enablingit to reach 60mph in just over 7 secs and onto a top speed of just over 135 mph. The Jaguar XK150 3.8 S Drophead Coupe offered here at Autostorico is 1 of only 69 original right hand drive examples, with a genuine 48,219 documented miles. This stunning car is finished in Mist Grey with Red leather interior and French Grey hood. Having left the factory on 10th December 1959, Chassis No: 813223 was first registered as OVL 150 and delivered to its first owner, a Lincoln-based company by the name of Jackson Hardware Ltd, just prior to Christmas. The second owner to acquire the car was Coventry based Ben Martin in 1964. A little over a year later Mr Martin sold the car to John Ward, who worked for the famous Patrick Collection. The car remained in Wards ownership until his death in 1980 but remained in the Patrick Collection museum until it was sold in 1994 to Bernie Ecclestone. Ecclestone kept OVL 150 for the next two years as part of his own private collection. The car changed hands again in 1996 bought by Mr David Stanley who meticulously maintained the Jaguar regardless of cost.In 2004 the car underwent a sensitive restoration with works including; Repaint in original factory Mist Grey and a documented mechanical overhaul including an engine rebuild. The interior still remains totally original with irreplaceable carpet mats and leather seats. Passing through several further owners this stunning XK150 boasts 16 chromed wire wheels, factory limited slip differential, 4 speed manual gearbox with overdrive and its original tool roll. Supplied with an extensive history file including a current V5 registration document, previous MOTs, heritage certificate, numerous invoices and a photographic record of the repaint and engine rebuild. This stunning car offers the purchaser an opportunity to own a unique example of a true British classic, which will certainly appreciate further over time. Viewing strictly by appointment only.

690 KVA was manufactured on the 28th April 1960 and is a genuine UK, matching numbers car. The car was distributed from Ritchies, Glasgow on the 13th May 1960 and spent most of its life in Scotland. In 2012 we collected the Jaguar north of the border and sold the XK to one of our long term customers of twenty five years, a South Yorkshire based Dentist. Our Sheffield based customer owned the XK for five years and last year we sold the car to another long term friend of the business, a prominent South Wales JEC member and collector. During the early 1990's 690 KVA was subject of a major rebuild by one of Scotland's top restoration firms. The car was fully rebuilt mechanically, fitted with Vicarage Power Steering and the body restored then painted in Jaguar Cotswold Blue and the interior trimmed in Grey leather. Classic Restoration then winter stored the XK for almost twenty years. The XK only had summer use and just 4500 miles were covered to 2012. the During its five years in South Yorkshire, thecar covered a further 1000 miles and was subject of around 4,000 of further work to enhance the car. Vicarage Ltd supplied parts to service the power steering with a new alternator belt and power steering pump belt, Guy Broad supplied upgraded rear brakes, electronic ignition, a negative earth Facet fuel pump and poly wishbone bush set. Jaguar specialists M&C Wilkinson have stripped down the front suspension, installed new stub axles, new bearings, replaced top ball joints and re-shimmed bottom ball joints. Since last year the XK has been treated to electronic igntition and has atteneded several shows in South Wales. 690 KVA comes back to totally on the button and in glorious condition. It drives superbly with a wonderful engine holding excellent oil pressure. The four speed Moss gearbox is delightful to use, the overdrive comes in smoothly and with upgraded brakes, rebuilt front suspension and Vicarage power steering the car is just fabulous to drive as expected with less than 6000 miles sincerebuild. The XK presents incredibly well with a stunning glass finish. The Cotswold Blue paintwork is excellent, the body is sharp with lovely panels and chrome work including wires is very impressive. The engine bay presents well as a usable and superbly restored car and the underside is smartly presented and in excellent order. The re-trimmed upholstery has aged nicely with impressive leather, high quality carpets, headlining door cards and dashboard. This is a car that really does drive as well as it looks and should prove a fabulous purchase. Price: 76,995

A California car, this car was in the noted Blackhawk collection for many years in Danville California, prior to finding its way back to its home shores a couple of decades ago. This is a very original & honest car in fine order throughout & has not been the recipient of major restoration work. The interior is delightful & has a lovely feel to it. The car is finished in Jaguar cream with a red interior as specified on the heritage sheets. The paint has one or two minor age related cracks that do not detract in any way from the lovely overall appearance of the car. The car starts readily & the 3.4 litre motor pulls well & has good compression. Being an overdrive car it is long legged on the road running well in modern traffic. It sits on wire wheels retained by knock-off hubs. A full stainless steel exhaust has also been fitted along with recent master & slave cylinders. New brake pads & discs have also been fitted. Overall this is a good original car in fine order rather then a concours fresh out of restoration car. As such it has a lovely feel to it so missing in redone cars. The car comes with a good assortment of bills attesting to regular no expense spared maintenance since its return to the UK.
