  • Auction: 29th Aug/1st Sept 2019 - RM Sotheby's - Auburn Fall Auction

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION at RM Sothebys' Auburn Fall event, 29 August - 1 September 2019. Estimate:$1,200,000 - $1,500,000 647-horsepower, 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 Seven-speed dual-clutch transmissionBelieved to be the only 2017 example finished in Riviera BlueDesirable serial number 40 in homage to its GT40 heritage Believed to be the only road model released by the factory without rear NVH panel, exposing carbon-fiber tub With Ferrari in its sights after a failed takeover bid, the Ford Motor Company, under Henry Ford II, assembled the worlds best drivers and car builders in an effort to dominate global long-distance sports-car racing in the mid-1960s. The GT40 that bowed in May 1964 at the Nürburgring 1000 KM was the culmination of Fords project. Based on the mid-engined Lola Mk 6, the GT40 had a thumping American Ford V-8 heart and would go on to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans an incredible four consecutive years between 1966 and 1969.Over 30 years later, Ford found itself gearing up tocelebrate its 100th anniversary, and it turned to designer Camilo Pardo to recreate the magic of the GT40. The concept car that debuted at the 2002 North American International Auto Show in Detroit whet the consumer appetite for a full road-going revival developed with Carroll Shelbys insight. Just over 4,000 examples of the supercharged V-8powered car that largely kept to the original 1960s concept were built during a two-year production run. After the last reborn Ford GT rolled out of the Wixom, Michigan, assembly plant, it seemed as if Ford was done with mid-engined supercars. At the 2015 Detroit show, however, Ford stunned gathered media and enthusiasts across the world with the new Ford GT. This rakish sports car stuck to the mid-engined formula but now featured a 647-horsepower version of the automakers twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter Ecoboost V-6 engine, which came paired this time with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission supplied by Getrag. The powertrain is capable of catapulting the car to60 mph in less than three seconds and a top speed of 216 mph. Not just anyone could saunter into a Ford dealer and place an order, however. The automaker required those interested to apply for ownership and mandated that they keep their cars for an extended period. Ford plans to produce roughly 1,350 of these supercars through 2022.This 2017 Ford GT was special-ordered through Pat Milliken Ford of Redwood Township, Michigan. The GT offers the uniquely desirable serial number H040 in homage to its GT40 heritage. In its short life, the car has covered less than 2,900 miles. This example is finished in Fords Extended Color Palette 2, a $30,000 option. Painted Riviera Blue, it is believed to be the only 2017 GT finished as such and is accented beautifully by the exterior gloss carbon-fiber package, a $15,000 option. The GT rides on 20-inch gloss exposed carbon-fiber wheels wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. They are held on by titanium lug nuts and brought to a stop by Silver brakecalipers, all optional equipment which added another $15,000, $1,000, and $1,000, respectively, to the cars price tag. This Ford GT is believed to be the only road car released from the factory without the NVH panel affixed to the rear bulkhead, exposing the carbon-fiber finish. This was a competition-grade tweak to which Fords subsequent revised manufacturing processes spelled an end.The GTs interior is completed in Dark Energy and features an F1-inspired steering wheel, fixed carbon-fiber Sparco seats, and a 6.5-inch infotainment system powered by Sync 3. Factory-installed six-point harness anchors are the sole interior option, a $500 add-on. The car is accompanied by two keys, owners manuals, GT battery tender, air compressor, front license plate bracket, and optional serialized Ford GT black fitted indoor car cover.Included with the car is the Ford GT ordering kit and paint color samples of Riviera Blue, Mexico Blue, and Stealth Grey. Documentation includes the cars purchase information fromPat Milliken Ford, the cars window sticker, production photos from Multimatic Niche Vehicles (MNV), and shipment documentation proving it was delivered as a single unit direct from MNV.With its breathtaking performance, stunning good looks, and racing pedigree, the new Ford GT is a must-have for any Blue Oval collector or supercar enthusiast. To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/af19.

  • Auction: 16th/17th Aug 2019 - RM Sotheby's - Monterey Auction

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION WITHOUT RESERVE at RM Sothebys' Monterey event, 15 - 17 August 2019. Less than 100 miles from newRare Midnight Blue with white racing stripesEquipped with all four available optionsFords modern classic Designed and built to celebrate Ford Motor Companys 100th anniversary, the GT was an instant classic the moment it was first unveiled to the public. Not only did the GT pay homage to the original GT40 that took the checkered flag at the 24 Hours of Le Mans four years in a row, but it was also a true world-class supercar. At its heart was Fords all-aluminum 5.4-liter V-8 equipped with a Lysholm twin-screw supercharger, capable of producing 550 hp and 500 ft.-lbs. of torque. While Ford was hoping for the car to compete directly against the Ferrari 360, F430, Porsche 911 Turbo, and Lamborghini Gallardo, which it did in terms of list price, the GT was in another league altogether in terms of outright performance. With a top speed of 205 mph and a 060 sprint of 3.3 seconds, the GTwas a closer competitor to Porsches Carrera GT and the Mercedes-McLaren SLR.Finished in Midnight Blue with an Ebony leather interior, this handsome GT is equipped with all four available options: painted racing stripes, forged aluminum BBS wheels, red-painted brake calipers, and the upgraded McIntosh stereo. Pampered and fastidiously cared for since new, this Ford GT remains in pristine original condition, having only been carefully driven less than 100 miles since it rolled off the Ford assembly line.Even with the new Ford GT in production, the GT of 20052006 remains highly desirable and has proven to be one of the most collectable cars built in the 21st century. This example is presented in like-new condition and with less than 100 miles on its odometer. It can be driven and enjoyed or kept and preserved as one of the most significant and exciting cars built by Ford in its storied 110-year history. This car represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the finest Ford GTs available. To view thiscar and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/mo19.

  • Auction: 16th/17th Aug 2019 - RM Sotheby's - Monterey Auction

To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION at RM Sothebys' Monterey event, 15 - 17 August 2019. The only 2017 GT finished in Beryllium OrangeHighly optioned, including carbon-fiber wheelsA stunning example of Fords flagship supercarLess than 400 miles from new Fifty years after Ford won the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans with the GT40, they unveiled their new GT at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit with the intention of claiming a class victory at the Circuit de la Sarthe in 2016, to great fanfare within the automotive community. While the 2005 Ford GT was a retro-inspired homage to the original GT40, the new GT was a futuristic interpretation using cutting-edge design elements throughout its construction. The new GT engine is based on the 3.5-liter V-6 engine from Fords best-selling F-150 but with upgraded turbos, an aluminum intake manifold, unique camshafts, and a custom dry-sump lubrication system. Despite being a relatively small V-6, power output came out to an impressive 647 horsepower. Thedriver and passenger sit in a radically designed carbon-fiber monocoque chassis with lightweight aluminum front and rear subframes. Every exterior body panel is made of carbon fiber with a distinctive aerodynamic channel running from the rear of the doors to the rear of the car. Being race-bred, the car sits on a pushrod suspension system using active aerodynamics with a hydraulically adjustable rear wing. Depending on the driving mode, ride height and downforce can be adjusted for optimal performance. Curb weight of the GT is only 3,354 pounds, and power is put to the road through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. High-tech features included a phone app that allows you to lock, unlock, start, and stop the engine as well as report on current mileage and any service or recalls through a GPS tracking system.Ford has planned for only a single-car-per-day production assembly to ensure each GT is up to their utmost standards. The initial allocation process for the GT was extremely selective, withowners having to apply to Ford, proving their case for why they should be allowed to buy the GT. After an agonizing wait, the owner of this GT was one of the lucky few who were able to buy one of the first examples. The owner of this Ford GT was given one of the first allocations for the GT with direct delivery on 5 August 2017. Unlike the 20052006 GT that offered only four options, a wide range of choices was available for the new GT, including custom paint finishes. This allowed owners to personalize their cars to their exacting specifications. This example is finished with a one-off Beryllium Orange, similar to the shade featured on the Saleen S7. The extended color pallet option was $30,000, so many owners chose to specify their cars within the standard range of colors. Two gloss black stripes run down the length of the car, and each body panel was protected with LLumar paint protection film before it was driven. All exterior carbon fiber, including the optional carbon wheels, were ordered witha gloss finish, and the interior was finished in a two-tone combination of black and white. Today this Ford GT has less than 400 original miles and is offered in virtually as-new condition and without encumbrance. All factory recalls have been performed, and the transferable Ford warranty is valid until 5 August 2020. Born and bred on the racetrack, the Ford GT is a must-have for any enthusiast of modern supercars or champion of American motorsport.
