1979 Ferrari 308 GTB; 48,400 miles from new; Finished in Rosso Chiaro with VM890 Connolly leather interior; One of only 211 dry sump, carburettor models produced in RHD for the UK market; Supplied new on 13th June 1979 by Maranello Concessionaires to a Mr Pedrozolli of Walton-on-Thames. The original invoice is on file (not a photocopy) and shows that Mr Pedrozolli specified air conditioning, wide wheels and front fog lamps, all bringing the total cost new to 18,184. He owned the car for many years and it was transferred into his wife's name on 17th September 1985. The car was eventually sold and purchased by a Mr Holmes of Abergele who was a short-term owner having the car for a little over a year. The next owner a Mr Wills of Bolton took ownership on 30th October 1995 and owned the car for nearly 6 years. Ferrari main agent JCT600 take car of servicing during his ownership. On 10th September 2001 it was purchased by a Mr Dalby of Marple, at this stage the mileage was just 22,500. He had the carserviced by renowned Ferrari Specialist Nick Cartwright. When Mr Dalby decided to sell, it quickly found a new owner through Nick Cartwright Specialist Cars. The invoice is on file and shows that the mileage was still only 22,928. The new owner, a Mr Sergio Rainsford, is clearly responsible in no small part for the vehicles current condition, along with his continued care and servicing with Nick Cartwright. In 2004 he enjoyed some concours success with the car at a Ferrari Owners Club National Event. He owned the car for nearly 10 years and had clearly enjoyed driving it as well as looking after it, as when the next owner purchased it on 18th May 2013 it had covered some 41,000 miles. On 26th November 2014 it was purchased by the last owner, a gentleman from Caterham, Surrey. Another enthusiast who was also not afraid to drive the car but equally not afraid to spend money on its upkeep. He entrusted servicing to another highly regarded Ferrari specialist Barkaways, who ensured it was turn-key readyfor European driving holidays when needed. This bought the mileage up to the current total of only 48,400. Offered with a huge file of history which includes invoices dating back to the aforementioned new car purchase invoice and old MOT's. The original service book is still present along with all other handbooks in the original pouch and there is a recent letter from The Maranello Concessionaires Archive confirming that the vehicle is numbers matching. An unmolested car that has benefitted from ongoing maintenance with caring owners rather than restoration. An original red example that has never been any other colour and still retains its original factory interior. This surely ranks as one of the best unrestored dry sump GTB's in the country. 1979 Ferrari 308 GTB; 48,400 miles from new; Finished in Rosso Chiaro with VM890 Connolly leather interior; One of only 211 dry sump, carburettor models produced in RHD for the UK market; Supplied new on 13th June 1979 by Maranello Concessionaires to a MrPedrozolli of Walton-on-Thames. Supplied new on 1st May 1987 by Ferrari main agent Stratton of Wilmslow to a local Mr Esterkin of Atrincham, Cheshire. Mr Esterkin did not keep the car for very long, presumable taking advantage of a then over-list premium. On 19th August 1988 Stratton's sold the car on to another local, a Mr Webster of Macclesfield. Mr Webster owned the car for 12 years, during which time he had the vehicle serviced and maintained by Stratton's. Records show that on 25th May 2000 the car was purchased by a Mr Collins of Sutton Coldfield. He also entrusted servicing to his local Ferrari main agent, Evans Halshaw of Birmingham, which was latterly taken over by Stratstone. The last owner Miss Smith purchased the car in 2006 and also entrusted servicing duties to Stratstone, which in turn again changed to Graypaul Ferrari. Miss Smith being a fastidious owner adhered to the manufacturer recommended maintenance schedule and had the car serviced every year regardless of mileage. A very desirable pre ABS model offered inthe right colour combination. Supplied new on 1st May 1987 by Ferrari main agent Stratton of Wilmslow to a local Mr Esterkin of Atrincham, Cheshire.
