The Ferrari F355 was built from May 1994 to 1999 and was an evolution of the 348. It is a mid-engine, rear wheel drive, V8-powered, two-seat coup. At launch, two models were available; the coup Berlinetta and the Targa topped GTS. The Spider (convertible) version was introduced in 1995. One major difference between the longitudinal V8 in the 348 and that in the 355, apart from the displacement increase from 3.4 to 3.5 litres, is that the F355 features a five valve per cylinder head that is considerably more powerful, producing 375bhp. The nomenclature does not follow the formula from the previous decades, i.e. engine capacity plus cylinder number for example, the Ferrari 308 name comes from three litres plus eight cylinders, and same for the 328, 348, 512 etc. This time, Ferrari used engine capacity plus number of valves per cylinder, as they were proud to boast about this technological advancement, so the name 355 equals 3.5 litres engine capacity and five valves per cylinder. This example wasoriginally supplied by Ferrari Deutschland through Tamsen Ferrari on 30/06/1997 and was swiftly imported into the UK later that year. Servicing has been carried out by a mixture of known specialists and Ferrari Dealers and there are 11 stamps in total with many supporting invoices. The last keeper has written a letter detailing the service record and a synopsis of works carried out including rectification of 'all of the usual bits', ie The wingsplits and 2x cylinder head rebuilds in July 2017 (with the belts obviously being changed at this time). Supplied with all keys, handbooks and an annual service within the price.....

The Ferrari F355 Berlinetta was introduced at the 1994 Geneva Motor Show; the highly demanded successor to the now ageing 348. The 355 was not only a stark improvement stylistically on the 348, but it also saw a number of technical improvements, such as power steering and electronically controlled damping. The F355 name referred to the new 3.5-litre V8 engine with 5 valves per cylinder; a unit capable of propelling the beautiful Pininfarina-styled body to 60mph in under 5 seconds and top speed in excess of 180 mph. Further, the motor is responsible for what remains today one of the finest engine notes ever to come from Maranello. In 1995, Ferrari revealed a race-spec F355 Challenge model to be used specifically in the Ferrari Challenge race series. This involved a $30,000 factory-to-dealer upgrade kit. This upgrade package encompassed a large number of modifications to the standard F355 Berlinetta including a roll-cage, bucket seats, competition steering wheel, lightweight exhaust, rear wing, competition clutch, competition springs, and a lightened front bumper. The F355 Challenge was also given new 18' Speedline magnesium wheels that were wrapped in Pirelli racing slicks, whilst upgraded Brembo brakes, carried over directly from the F40 helped improve the car's stopping power. Just 108 original F355 Challenge cars were produced in total, all fitted with the iconic 6-speed gated manual transmission. The car we are delighted to offer is an EU supplied example that raced within the Ferrari Challenge series for Team Ferrari Eberlein with the Gentleman driver Dieter Weigl. The car benefitted from a full engine out service at an official Ferrari Dealer in Austria with invoice in October 2015. The car is also fully street legal, making it a great opportunity to obtain a highly collectable Ferrari that can be enjoyed thoroughly on both the road and track!

Finished in Rosso Corsa and Nero with a desirable 6-speed manual gearbox UK-supplied, right-hand drive showing just 12,600 miles Offered with a UK V5c. MOT tested until 23/04/20 Full cambelt service by Greypaul Edinburgh Ferrari in October 2018 The Ferrari F355 is now considered a modern classic, so beautiful, so well-engineered and so well received that it marked the beginning of the end of the old-guard `Ferraristi' philosophy that the only 'real' Ferraris were ones with 12-cylinder engines. The F355 Berlinetta burst onto the world stage in the Spring of 1994, with the Targa GTS and Spider following in 1995. The new car shared almost exactly the same dimensions as its predecessor, the 348, yet it was virtually a new car, as its flowing coachwork indicated. Many hours of wind tunnel testing influenced the harmonious shape which incorporated an F1-style flat bottom with channelled airflow generating enough downforce to offset any lift. The F355's name is derived from its 3.5-litre V8 engine andfivevalves per cylinder - as denoted by the `Cinquevalvole' inscription on the rocker covers, and this longitudinally mounted power unit generates an impressive 374bhp at a spine-tingling 8250rpm. The con-rods are titanium alloy, the clutch is housed in magnesium alloy, and the Bilstein shock absorbers use electronic sensors to provide active damping. In 1994, the Ferrari F355 was a technological tour de force. Around Ferrari's 1.86 mile Fiorano test track, the F355 was two seconds a lap faster than the 12-cylinder, 512 TR and that level of performance, combined with its sensational shape, ensured its success on the world stage. This particular example is a right-hand drive 1997 Ferrari F355 Spider registered in the UK on 21/04/97 to its first owner. Finished in Rosso Corsa with a Nero interior, this striking car is fitted with the more desirable manual gearbox and was specified from new with air conditioning, a stereo CD player, and black brake callipers. Accompanying the car is the service bookwhichrecords the latest service in October 2018 carried out at Graypaul Edinburgh Ferrari where the car was the recipient of a major service including cambelts, resulting in an invoice of £2,699.The car has had four former keepers and is supplied with a UK V5c, an MOT until 23/04/20, its original handbooks in their leather wallet and its toolkit. This, highly sought-after, 6-speed manual F355 Spider finished in a classic colour combination is now showing just 12,600 miles and is undoubtedly one of the finest 355s on the market today

The Ferrari F355 was introduced in May 1994, as a direct replacement for the Ferrari 348. Initially the F355 was only available with 6 speed manual transmission but in 1997 the Formula One style paddle gear shift developed by Ferrari and Magneti Marelli was launched. The emphasis behind the Pininfarina designed F355 was to improve performance, as well as drivability across a wider range of speeds and in different environments including lower city speeds. The F355 was built around a steel monocoque with tubular steel rear sub-frame. The 355 offered fully independent front and rear suspension with coil springs over gas-filled telescopic shock absorbers, electronic control servos and anti-roll bars. Aerodynamic design for the car included over 1,300 hours of wind tunnel analysis. The car incorporates a Nolder profile on the upper portion of the tail, and fairing on the underbody that generates negative lift when the car is at speed. Apart from the displacement increase from 3.4 to 3.5 litre, the major difference between the V8 engine in the F348 and F355 is the introduction of a 5-valve per cylinder head, hence the name F355 3.5l and 5 valves per cyliner. This new head design allowed for better air intake and resulted in a more powerful engine producing 370bhp at 8,250rpm, this resulted in a 0-60 mph of just 4.6 secs and onto a top speed of 183mph. As with all Ferraris only the best materials available at the time were used in their no expense spared production. The Ferrari F355 F1 Spider offered here at Autostorico was supplied new in April 1998 by Tamsen Ferrari Germany. Finished in Nero with Nero leather, this lovely example has covered a mere 21,209 miles and has been well maintained with the last service having been carried out by Autohaus Ferrari at 20,320 miles. This striking example offers such specification highlights as; Red brake calipers, Climate control, Original Ferrari tool kit, CD changer, Electric windows and Remote central locking. Viewing strictly by appointment only.
