This is an exceptional, rare and significant car that comes with great provenance. Our Aston Martin Virage Volante factory Wide body was first owned and first registered by Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd with their very own factory display plate 'AM V8'. Aston Martin Works confirm in writing this car was first owned Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd presumably for marketing and display purposes given internal invoices on file for valeting is charged out to the Marketing Department. We know the registration mark 'AM V8' was used at the time for factory 'showcase' demonstrators at various European Motor Shows and this car was used to showcase the new factory Widebody specification that was available for a further cost of in the region of 60,000. Owners of these cars could return their cars to the factory for this very special upgrade but naturally it is the genuine factory original Widebody cars that are the more desirable and valuable. Only 26 factory built Widebody cars were ever produced and further provenancewith this car is in the fact that it is the first vehicle built with the improved specification and this is shown in the parts manual where this car, chassis number 60193 is referred to at the top of some pages as the start point of where specification changed. Not only does this car hold exceptional provenance, it has only covered a genuine 24,000 miles from new and comes with its original handbooks and service book, spare keys, letter from Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd confirming warranty repairs and mileages in the cars early life, the majority of main dealer receipts and invoices and even a compliment slip to the last owner from the Factory Master Technician who conducted the original PDI. The certificate of ownership confirms the car was registered new 'AM V8', owned by Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd, Newport Pagnell and on the 12th January 1995 the car was PDI inspected by G.Higgs. The first service was conducted on the 20th February 1995 by Aston Martin Works at Newport Pagnell where it has beenmaintained for most of its life. The service book has been stamped at Newport Pagnell at 4730, 5495, 6567, 7211, 8389, 10598, 12908, 13991, 14624 and at 15293 miles Aston Martin HWM Walton on Thames serviced the car. The Aston Martin was back with the Works at Newport Pagnell at 18022, 18877, 19797 and 20690 miles meaning the car had fifteen Aston Martin main dealer services in the first 20,000 or so miles, fourteen of those being with Aston Martin Works. More recently, in 2017 at 22912 miles the Aston Martin had over 10,000 spent with prominent Aston Martin classic specialists in the South of England.
