Introduced to the model range by Aston Martin in 2011, the Virage and convertible version, the Virage Volante, were positioned between the DB9 and DBS models. To us, the Virage hasnt yet been fully appreciated; not only one of the best looking Gaydon Era Aston Martins, but also a model enhanced by a number of performance upgrades, making it a significantly more dynamic car to drive than its DB9 cousin. Produced for just over a year, only 369 Virage Volantes were produced at the Gaydon factory, making it one of the rarest models of that era. All Virage Volantes, including our example, were supplied with the six-speed Touchtronic 2 transmission and with Aston Martins Adaptive Damping System (ADS) and Carbon Ceramic brakes. Engine performance was uprated on the Virage model to 490bhp. The superb example we are now delighted to offer was first supplied in September 2011 and is finished in Meteorite Silver with Obsidian Black hides and a black hood. In addition to the standard, luxurious Virage specification, this particular example benefits from optional extras including uprated alarm system, Aston Martin 700w Premium Audio, black brake calipers, piano black veneers, front parking sensors, Sports seats and 20 inch 10 spoke diamond turned wheels. Used sparingly by its two former owners, this car has covered just 13,500 miles from new. Benefitting from a full Aston Martin Main agent service history and presenting in exceptional condition throughout, this Virage Volante is now ready to be enjoyed this forthcoming motoring season. We certainly cant imagine a finer model in which to complete that long awaited European tour!

Announced in April 1972, the AM V8 is an extensively modified version of the DBS V8 which was announced in September 1969. Externally, the grill was entirely new, no longer sweeping across the complete front but now tailored between the head lamps reminiscent of the earlier six cylinder models such as the DB3S. The engine, was by then the well tried and tested all alloy V8 designed by Tadek Marek that had made it's first appearance in January 1967 at the Racing Car Show in London and raced by Lola in their Type 70 Mk III GT. The AM V8 series III was introduced in London, August 1973. The important mechanical difference was the replacement of the Bosch fuel injection system by four twin-choke down draught Weber carburettors, which produced a notably smother performance at low engine speeds with greater flexibility. To accommodate the carburettors, the bonnet bulge had to be deepened slightly and it was continued as a low bulge, to the trailing edge. Improvements were also made to water, oil andautomatic transmission cooling and a new insulation material was used for the engine bulkhead and under the bonnet. There are detailed improvements inside the car, revised front seats; passenger's door locked, electrically, from driver's side; revised switches and heating controls: fuses below the glove compartment; larger ashtray; fuel tank redesigned to increase luggage space. The Autocar road test (September 6th 1973) of a car with automatic transmission, gave 0 to 60 m.p.h. in 6.2 seconds and a maximum 146 m.p.h. Summary:; The market for Aston Martin V8's is strengthening and this car offers an outstanding opportunity for any buyer. A low mileage validated by comprehensive record of service and maintenance builds real value into what is an appreciating and popular model of Aston Martin. Vehicle History; The original Service Voucher Book for this car notes that it was supplied to its first owner, A Pearson of Kenilworth by The Aston Martin Centre of Sutherland Avenue, Coventry. The delivery dateis noted as 18th April 1975. The next significant date in the history file for the car is a receipt for 11,050 signed by Mr. Pearson, for the sale of the car to its second owner, The Walford Manufacturing Company of Birmingham represented by their Managing Director Peter Clasper. The car remained in Mr. Clasper's stewardship, transferring ownership from his company to his personal name in March 1990, until his recent and sad demise. The Executors of his will asked Byron International to sell the car on their behalf which we did in 2013. Acquired by the current owner following an engineer's report, the car has been fastidiously maintained since with diligent repair to the sills and around the off side chassis leg. The owner has also kept a personal log of mileages and weather conditions for all journeys under his stewardship.

![CDATA[One of the first new models to be launched following the acquisition of AML by Company Developments, the Aston Martin Vantage debuted in May 1972. Sharing the same chassis as the V8, (complete with twin seven-inch headlamps and more traditional grille), it was essentially an AMV8 with a 6 cylinder engine, even the chassis number prefix is AM. Equipped with independent front suspension, a De Dion rear axle, power-assisted rack and pinion steering and four-wheel disc brakes. Notable as the last Newport Pagnell car to carry the legendary Tadek Merak designed 3995cc DOHC straight-six engine, the Aston Martin Vantage was predominantly specified in triple Weber carburettor tune (325bhp, 290lbft) and could be had with a choice of five-speed manual or three-speed automatic transmission. A capable and refined 2+2 grand tourer that was reputedly capable of over 140mph, it was visually distinguished by the fitment of wire wheels. Only in production for a single year, just 70 or so are thought to havebeen made. This wonderful example of this rare model is presented in dark Olive Green with a tan leather interior. Its 3995cc litre matching numbers engine is mated to an automatic transmission and a considerable amount of money has been spent to maintain this beautiful British classic in the condition you see today. The car comes with a good history file including MoT certificates dating back to 1975 and various invoices. A Heritage Trust certificate accompanies the car which is important with any Aston Martin of this era and these DBS models are rare, sought after and still fun to drive, turning heads today as it did back in the 1970s when manufactured. The previous owner owned the car from 2013 until recently and during his ownership the Aston Martin was repainted to Olive Green from red with many parts being replaced including boot springs, radiator, new alternator and belts. Some re-chroming was also carried out and alloy polishing of parts where required, new vacuum and heater valves, newexterior door handles and a refreshing of the tan interior. As well as new tyres all round, all air, fuel and oil filters were replaced. ]]

![CDATA[The Virage was Aston Martin's replacement for the decades old V8 models and introduced at the Birmingham Motor Show in 1988. This V8 powered car was intended as the company's top model with their 6 cylinder 1994 DB7 slotted below it but this V8 model (by then in Vantage form) remained the exclusive, expensive and hand built king of Astons. The Virage was a large, heavy car in spite of its all aluminium body, but the 32-valve 5.3 litre V8 engines elevated its performance to sports car levels. 'Acceleration just never seems to run out', claimed Sports Car International on a first test. They also praised the 'eager and quicker revving' nature of the engine with its Callaway designed heads and Weber Marelli fuel injection. 'Nothing sounds quite like an Aston V8, they concluded. The Virage Volante convertible debuted at the 1990 Birmingham Motor Show with production examples beginning in 1992 featuring 2+2 seating. Sources claim that between 224 and 233 examples had been produced when theseries ended in 1996. Registered on 25th September 1992 this example is presented in an extremely rare finish of Suffolk red with cream leather and boasts just two previous owners. This collectable Aston Martin Virage Volante has undergone a full body restoration to an extremely high level and the results are extremely satisfying. Mechanically the car is described by the vendor as perfect, having received a top end rebuild and the interior is as new. The restoration process importantly retained all factory specifications and thus the car has the original matching numbers engine and gearbox. The vendor describes the comprehensive body restoration as a 'better than the factory finish' and adds that the full onboard computer has been rebuilt at an extraordinary cost with all electrics comprehensively checked, as the modern (at the time) electronic systems were a weakness that Vantages suffered from. Within the history file this example has all the original manuals, wallets and two keys. This car, withfour brand new original tyres and with a tonneau cover is ready to drive and enjoy. Only 233 Virage Volantes were manufactured and sold by Aston Martin and with later examples creeping up in price, any Volante looks to be a sound future investment proposition. In particular, this vehicle, with its outstanding condition, is a wonderful opportunity for the serious investor or collector to acquire one of the last hand built cars made by Aston Martin.]]

![CDATA[The six cylinder William Towns styled DBS had been around for a couple of years anxiously awaiting the V8 engine that had been especially designed for it. In early 1970, the DBS V8 was finally ready to become one of the fastest cars available at the time. The 5.3 litre Tadek Marek-designed engine was able to develop around 320bhp, which gave the ability to reach 160mph; all this with space for four people. Demand for the car was great with production reaching 402 examples within just two years. From April 1972, the DBS V8 received a mild restyle and a new name. The 'DB' was dropped as David Brown had sold the company and the car became known simply as the 'Aston Martin V8'. The most visible change was the adoption of two 7' quartz iodine headlamps and black mesh grill, the design of which was the work of the original designer, William Towns. This Aston Martin V8 was first registered on the 19th October 1973 and, importantly, is a manual gearbox example and one of just 258 made with factoryair conditioning. Offered in Mendip Blue with blue leather upholstery, this example is in fabulous condition and has had just three owners from new. In 2016, the current vendor decided to commission Trinity Engineering of Chobham, Surrey, to undergo a full shakedown on the glorious V8 engine. What started as a shakedown swiftly developed into a minor restoration resulting in a final bill just shy of £22,000. Invoices in the history file from Trinity show works including; to the engine, an updated viscous fan, refurbished radiator and a full engine service including synchronising the throttle butterflies and setting the throttle position. A new clutch master cylinder was also fitted, the differential assembly was removed, new drive shaft bearings fitted together with new wheel bearings and propeller shaft. The steering rack was replaced and the brake system completely overhauled. All electrics were checked for operation before a few minor cosmetic works were carried out and then returned to thevendor. With recent work to such a high standard and fitted with its original engine, this Aston Martin V8 is a particularly attractive proposition and epitomises everything about a British built grand tourer of the seventies. A current MoT test certificate, valid until September 2018 with no advisories, can be found in the history file as well as a new service invoice from Trinity Engineering, All give confidence to the gorgeous sound of the V8 engine. The armchair like seats and the tactile switchgear all contribute to the effortless power and style of this beautiful motor car.]]
