Background:; Following the success of the Limited Edition V8 Coupe, the new 'Vantage' style V8 Coupe was introduced on the 5th of March 1996, at the Geneva Motor Show, alongside the DB7 Volante. Whereas all ten of the Limited Edition V8 Coupes shared many external features with the preceding Virage, the new V8 Coupe reflects the overall design themes and the smooth flowing aerodynamic lines of the Vantage, as was the case with most of the suspension system. However, it has its own distinctive design radiator intake, six spoke 18' x 8.5' alloy road wheels, and circular auxiliary driving lamps integrated within the front spoiler. Special compound 255 / 50 ZR18 Pirelli P Zero tyres were developed for the new model. The quad cam engine has 4 valves per cylinder, (last used by Aston Martin in 1921-2) and produces 350 horsepower. This was a further development of the now legendary Tadek Marek designed all alloy V8, with its racing pedigree. Improved cylinder heads, camshafts and pistons were fitted, together with an 'Alpha Plus' electronically controlled engine management system. According to Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd., the new V8 Coupe could reach 60 M.P.H. in less than 6.0 seconds and has a maximum speed in excess of 150 m.p.h. Naturally with the use of a three way catalytic exhaust system, the engine runs on unleaded fuel. However, for countries where leaded petrol is still the norm, a non-catalyst system was available. In effect, it is a 'worldwide' engine compatible for all markets. The 4-speed automatic transmission is electronically controlled with Sport and Touring modes. Anti-lock AP / PBR brakes are fitted to all four wheels, with ventilated discs and four pot callipers. With a servo-assisted tandem master cylinder, the brakes are independent front and rear, controlled by a Bosch 4 channel ABS system. The power assisted rack and pinion steering is speed sensitive. The rear axle is fitted with a limited slip differential. All body panels are hand crafted in aluminium. Requiring tenConnolly hides each luxurious interior could be tailored to individual tastes. Burr Walnut is used for the facia panel, centre console and door cappings, and Wilton carpet for the floor covering. There are a minimum of twelve separate coats of paint applied to each complete body. There is power assistance for the adjustment of the driver and front passenger seats. A sophisticated climate control system is provided together with a stereo, radio, cassette and CD player. For the final touch of luxury, cruise control is fitted for long distance touring. Summary:; Over the past 2/3 years, the market has come to recognize the value of the classic V8 Coupe. Some of the last hand-built Aston Martins from their traditional home at Newport Pagnell - they are identified as landmark cars. In conversation with a previous Registrar of the AMOC, the current owner discovered that the paint finish on the car, Montrose Blue, was a unique choice - the only car produced in that colour - add an appropriate number platethat stays with the car and you have a very special car. But the real reason this car will be chosen by its next owner is its outstanding condition, its history and the pleasure derived behind the wheel - a useable and beautiful classic Aston Martin. Vehicle History; One of the very last of the hand-built Aston Martins, this lovely car was registered first by Grange Aston Martin as a demonstrator on 29th September 1999 and remained in their care until August of the following year when it was transferred to the appropriately named Peter James Bond!; He owned the car for two years before selling it to Jonathan Durden who owned the car for just over a year before it was registered in the name of dealer, Lancaster Cars who then sold the car in September 2004 to the current owner. A businessman with offices in London and New York, the car has divided its time between the owner's London home and a discreet storage facility in Hampshire while the owner is the other side of the Atlantic - this wouldaccount for the fact that although it has been the owner's main car, the mileage total remains modest. But modest mileages have not stopped the regular maintenance of the car and, as a result she presents beautifully and drives perfectly. It is perhaps a mark of that excellence that returning to his car outside his apartment in London, the owner found a postcard on the screen. It was from John Heffernan who with Ken Greenley designed the car for Aston Martin alongside the contemporary Bentley Continental - he remarked on how nice it was to see one of 'his' cars being used.

David Browns ambition to take Aston Martin to new heights required a more powerful V8 engine to replace their established straight six. Whilst the DBS went into production in 1967 it wasnt until two years later that the car received the new, more powerful, V8. The V8 powered DBS ensured Aston could offer one of the fastest production cars in the world. Unfortunately, this was not enough to return Aston Martin to profit and as such David Brown sold the company to Company Developments in 1972. After Company Developments acquisition of Aston Martin work started on a comprehensive facelift of the DBSV8. The main visual differences were the adoption of single headlamps and a revised front grille. Now known as the AMV8, the car retained the Bosch mechanical fuel injection system until August 1973, when four twin choke Weber carburettors were fitted, together with updates to the interior trim, a bigger bonnet bulge to clear the carburettor air box and a re-designed fuel tank to allow more luggage space. Powered by the Tadek Marek designed all aluminium 5.3 litre V8 engine producing in excess of 310 bhp, the AMV8 was capable of accelerating from rest to 60 mph in just 6.1 secs and on to a claimed top speed of 140 mph. The Aston Martin V8 offered here at Autostorico is 1974 Series III example which was supplied new in the UK. Finished in Blue metallic with Blue leather interior this rare manual car has covered 121,912 miles. This collectable Aston Martin is made rarer still by the addition of a factory fit sunroof. The car has been in the same family ownership for the last 17 years and during that time has benefited from a mechanical overhaul. The current owner has had the car out in Sardinia for the last two years and has recently driven the car back to the UK without it missing a beat. Whilst the car is mechanically sound it would benefit from some cosmetic attention as the body work is starting to show signs of corrosion. The car comes complete with an owners manual and history file detailing mechanical works completed over the years by the likes of Pugsley & Lewis Ltd, Trinity Engineering and Mike Morgan. The car is also supplied with a number of previous MOTs to corroborate the mileage. Viewing strictly by appointment only.

1973 ASTON MARTIN V8 AUTO COUPEFinished in wonderful California Sage metallic (pale green) with full black leather trim. Originally supplied to Hexagon of Highgate London and according to the V5, there have been 5 further keepers. The vehicle has travelled a total of 66000 miles from new in its 45 years. This we believe to be correct and there are several previous Mot certificates supporting the mileage. The vehicle is MoTd until Jan 2019 without advisories however a new one will be provided when purchased. The car, in our opinion, is in excellent condition throughout. It is the more powerful model with the 5340cc V8 Aston Martin Lagonda engine with the 4 twin choked carburettors. The valuable registration number UUC 7M is included in the sale and is transferable. This vehicle is also road tax exempt. The features include: leather trim, door mirrors, dark tinted glass, twin fuel tanks, reclining seats, PAS, centre console, original radiomobile radio and 8 track player with extra speakers, electricwindows, inertia reel seatbelts, cigar lighter, map light, heated rear window, twin exhausts and V8 alloys in silver and white, The history folder includes: current V5, current and previous MoTs dating from 1982, original sales brochure, invoices totalling circa 11,000 for maintenance and upkeep over the years, inspection report, warranty booklet, Aston Martin Heritage Certificate 2016 (Number AMHT/2016-0087) and the original V8 Aston Martin instruction manual. In addition, there is an Aston Martin extended warranty some 18 pages long stating that this warranty is transferable. However, the validity of said document should be checked out. This is an iconic model of Aston Martin synonymous with James Bond. This model was also used in the TV series The Persuaders, featuring Roger Moore. The values of Aston Martin DB5s and DB6s are reaching astronomical levels and we feel that the V8 version represents particularly good value in a rising market.01202 709407 OR 07785500990
