This 1979 matching numbers AMV8 Volante is presented in an original build combination of Windsor Red and Magnolia Hide with Burgundy piping. An extensive service history file details repair and maintenance work carried out by Aston Martin Works. With production of the DB6 MK2 Volante ceasing in 1970 market conditions meant that it was almost 10-years before a new convertible Aston Martin was built again. Unveiled in June 1978 the AMV8 Volante was an immediate success. By the mid-1980s the Vantage specification edition of the AMV8 Volante made it the fastest convertible in the world.

Aston Martin Works are delighted to offer an exceptional example of the iconic AM V8 Vantage. This late model Vantage is one of just 121 cars equipped with the most desirable X-Pack engine and 5-speed manual gearbox configuration, affording it the ultimate V8 Vantage driving experience. Supplied new in Leeds in August 1987, this matching numbers car is presented in its striking and original colour combination of Suffolk Red with a magnolia leather interior with red piping. The first owner had E77 BBB for eight years until the second owner acquired it in January 1995. Residing in Wolverhampton, the property developer applied his personalised number plate JR 6734 and was methodical about retaining paperwork relating to the car, a trait the subsequent owners fortunately copied. The third recorded owner purchased the car in March 1999 and he changed the number plate to PIW 500, after which the fourth owner from Hertfordshire took ownership in December 2001 and the number plate was changed to E885WOK.The last owner was to enjoy the Vantage longer than anyone before, having bought it in February 2005 and applied the appropriate number plate 691 AMX. He was clearly an enthusiast and an excellent custodian as it appears the car was maintained without a concern for expense. A brief summary of the works carried out by recognised Aston Martin specialists includes an engine overhaul in 2007, a transmission rebuild in 2009, a suspension overhaul and upgrade in 2005, a brake upgrade in 2011, a repaint of the body in 2013, and a retrim of the interior in 2015. Further works were carried out by Aston Martin Works in 2017 which included a new Nardi steering wheel and new tyres, as well as some other items. This fabulous car benefits from having an extremely generous history file, detailing its five previous owners and the meticulous attention they have paid to the car during its life. The file contains documents that are often sadly lost during the early life of a motor car such as the originaldealerreceipt note from the Reg Vardy dealership of Houghton le Spring near Tyne and Wear, and the original Warranty Card to the first owner in Kirby Overblow near Harrogate in Yorkshire, dated August 1st 1987. Accompanying these original documents are copies of previous V5's and V5C's documenting the previous owners and many expired MOT certificates since about 1992 documenting the mileage of the car. In addition to the all of these, there are a copious number of invoices from recognised Aston Martin specialists recording the maintenance work carried out on the car and correspondence from owners regarding the car. With just 74,000 miles from new, this original Right Hand Drive V8 Vantage X-Pack is a very special car that presents in wonderful condition and boasts an envious history file - it is a rare opportunity.

Chassis # R12159 Engine # V/540/2159/V - Recent fourteen-year ownership by an enthusiastic AMOC member - Wonderfully detailed history file containing MOT and maintenance records from 1983 - Multiple AMOC Concours entries, and appearances in magazines and on television - Former ownership by a famous film actor who is a connoisseur classic car collector and Aston Martin enthusiast - Piloted around Silverstone Circuit by Damon Hill with Sir Jackie Stewart for Sky Sports in 2014 - Supplied with a one-year Aston Martin warranty Detailed history Aston Martin Works are delighted to offer for sale this lovely and early AMV8 Vantage. Shortly after its production was completed in July 1979 and it was dispatched from the Newport Pagnell factory, the Vantage was sold and registered by the authorised dealership Reg Vardy on August 1st 1979. The car remains today in its original colour combination of Storm Red paint with a Beige leather interior. This Vantage has a very detailed history file containing alargequantity of maintenance invoices since 1986 from recognised marque specialists, with Aston Martin Works having known the car since 1995. Also contained is a list of former owners, and it appears the car spent its first few years in the north of England close to where it was supplied new until February 1984, when it was purchased from Reg Vardy of Newcastle by a gentleman in Surrey who brought the car to the south of England where it has remained ever since. The enthusiastic AMOC member owner took the car on the 1985 AMOC Golden Jubilee tour of Europe which lead the participants around France, Switzerland and Germany. You can imagine it roaring around the Alps, hopefully in a less aggressive and more politically correct manner than Rowan Atkinson recently did in the South of France in an identical AMV8 Vantage, as British Secret Agent Johnny English in the 2018 film Johnny English Strikes Again. After three-and-a-half years of enjoyable ownership, the arrival of a daughter necessitated the saleofthe Aston Martin and the purchase of something more family-friendly. The mention of the film leads us conveniently onto another owner; in November 1992 the car was acquired by a well-known film actor and discerning car enthusiast, who by coincidence (or perhaps not) played the part in 2018 of a British Secret Agent driving a red AMV8 Vantage. The history file boasts the majority of expired MOT certificates (as both copies and originals) from August 1983 which show the car was in regular use until 1995, when the odometer recorded just over 71,000 miles. After that, the distance covered between MOT's was just a few hundred miles, sometimes not even that. In June 2005 the most recent owner exchanged his 1980 V8 Saloon against the Vantage at his local Aston Martin specialist dealer, commencing what was to be an exciting fourteen-year relationship involving many Aston Martin Owners Club (AMOC) Concours events, and successes. High profile appearances were not kept only to the concours lawns, withtheowner enthusiastically exhibiting his cherished Vantage at the 2013 Aston Martin Centenary Celebrations in Kensington Palace Gardens, providing it to Sky Sports in 2014 for filming at Silverstone to celebrate fifty years of the racing circuit, and loaning it to Classic Cars Magazine in 2017 for a feature on the Aston Martin DBS and its subsequent derivatives. The Sky Sports production in 2014 is especially interesting as it required the car to be driven around Silverstone Circuit by Damon Hill with Sir Jackie Stewart in the passenger seat. There is much documentation in the history file referring to this exciting day at Silverstone. The aforementioned history file also contains a copy of the Factory Build Sheet, a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, copies of V5's and V5C's, AMOC Concours entry records and result sheets, a copy of the 2017 Classic Cars magazine, several AMOC magazines in which the car features, and some photographs. With such a wonderfully comprehensive historyfilewith records from when the car was just four years old, a detailed ownership trail including former famous ownership, and recent fourteen-year cherished AMOC member ownership, this AMV8 Vantage is a special car and is in a condition one would expect of an unrestored recent concours entrant. Having been exchanged at Aston Martin Works for a modern Aston Martin, this Vantage now awaits its next custodian.

Having covered just 14,000 miles from new, this 'Prince of Wales' AMV8 Vantage is beautifully finished in Rolls Royce Graphite Grey with Burgundy Hide upholstery. Covering only 500 miles during its prior ownership after being acquired in May of 2000, this motor car is well maintained and was factory-serviced by Aston Martin Lagonda in its earlier years, including a front suspension service in 1994, air conditioning service in 1996, and the installation of a 3.06:1 final-drive ratio and a recalibrated speedometer. At the request of HRH Prince Charles this AMV8, widely regarded as the pinnacle of AMV8 production, had the Vantage high-performance engine upgrade, flared wheel arches, 16-inch Ronal wheels, a Nardi wooden steering wheel, front overriders and black chin spoiler, and the bonnet bulge. Inside, Prince Charles requested recessed switches in the fine-grained dashboard. Elegant and classic, the design impressed the then CEO of Aston Martin, Victor Gauntlett, so much that he ordered a 'PoW'specification car for himself. Over a production run of two years, just 27 examples were built.

Chassis # V8/11763/RCAS Engine # V/540/1763/S - Manufactured in 1977 and delivered new to a lady in Jersey in January 1978 - Finished in its wonderful original colours of Madagascar brown with a fawn leather interior - Accompanied by a superlative history file with the original service books, most MOT certificates, copies of V5 registration documents, and an enormous number of maintenance invoices - Several long-term owners, with the second owner enjoying the car for twenty years - Repainted in 2002 (16,000 miles ago) by a well-known restoration company and remaining in excellent condition - Supplied with a one-year Aston Martin warranty. Detailed History This beautiful V8 Saloon Automatic was manufactured during 1977 and finished in the wonderful colour combination of Madagascar Brown paint with a fawn Connolly leather interior, just as it presents now. Chassis 11763 was supplied by St. Helier Garages of Jersey and first registered to a lady on the island on January 1st 1978, and judging bytherelatively high mileage covered in the car's first year it seems the V8 was used primarily for journeys around England rather than Jersey. The first service was carried out by Aston Martin Lagonda on January 12th 1978 at 1,260 miles, the second service by Aston Martin authorised dealer Clifford Sales of Southampton on June 17th at 5,089 miles, and the third service by St. Helier Garages on November 20th at 15,925 miles. In the Spring of 1979 Clifford Sales Limited had presumably acquired the Aston Martin from the lady as they registered it in the UK in their name and offered it for sale. Cuttings from the newspaper featuring the advertisements for the car are included in the history file. After having the AA conduct a Vehicle Inspection Report (on file) on the V8 in July 1979, the V8 was acquired by a gentleman in Stanmore, Middlesex. The sales invoice (on file) from Clifford Sales Limited records the odometer reading as just 17, 217 miles, and initially the car was registered to hispropertydevelopment company in August 1979, but in June 1989 he registered it in his own name. He was clearly very fond of the car and fastidious in his retention of documentation, which included keeping a note book recording the dates of use, the mileage covered, and the fuel used for each journey he undertook during his twenty years of ownership. In May 1999 the car was acquired by someone in Pinner, Middlesex, who recorded the odometer reading as 85,245 miles at the time of purchase. It is possible that this person knew the vendor as they lived less than five miles from each other. Two years later in April 2001 the car moved to a new owner in Glasgow, Scotland, who in the Autumn of 2002 had a well-known Scottish restoration company carry out a repaint of the car in its original colour. After seven years in Glasgow, in October 2008 the car was purchased by a lady in Colchester, Essex, who, after another seven years sold the car to the current owner in Yorkshire in June 2015, where it joinedtheirsizeable collection of Aston Martin and other classic cars. Cars rarely have such a superlative history file as this wonderful Aston Martin V8 Saloon Automatic. The file is packed with a copy of the original Build Sheet, three service books with both authorised dealer and specialist stamps along with notes detailing the work carried out, a large quantity of maintenance invoices and correspondence between owners and authorised dealers and specialists, copies of previous V5 registration documents provided by the DVLA detailing a complete ownership record, and almost every MOT certificate from its first one in December 1980 (at 29,719 miles), as well as the aforementioned documentation. Now showing 104,700 miles on the odometer, this wonderful motor car is in excellent condition and ready for a further owner to enjoy.
