![CDATA[Only available between 1964 and 1966, the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTC was launched to make the transition from the ageing Giulia Spider to the, as yet to be ready, Duetto. The Giulia GTC is a four-seater convertible derived from the Giulia GT. Conversion of the coupé to cabriolet was done by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan and involved strengthening the structure to retain rigidity after removal of the roof. It was the last project carried out by Touring before the firm folded in 1966.Only 1,000 were ever produced with just 99 being right hand drivemaking them very desirable indeed. Chassis 760043 is an original UK supplied GTC, first registered 17thFebruary 1966 having been completed at the factory on 23rdJune 1965. The current owner bought the car in a sorry state in 1982 and set about restoring the car as a labour of love over the following two years. The project was completed to a high standard with a full bare metal, nut and bolt restoration being undertaken. The car underwent furtherrefurbishment in 2010 for the Alfa Romeo Centenary in Milan, including a full interior re-trim. Originally Verde with tan interior, the vendor opted to change the colour combination to classic Alfa Romeo AR501 Rosso Alfa Red with black interior whilst he had the chance. The car was featured in the July 2016 edition of Classic and Sports Car Magazine. The car is in superb condition starting on first turn with its 1570cc engine ticking over as smoothly as a sewing machine. Having been loved and cared for by the same owner for the past 35 years, the car is highly original with all correct interior and exterior trim including original dashboard, gauges, map light, steering wheel and wing. Needless to say, 760043 comes with a very complete history including confirmation email from Alfa Romeo archives stating the cars production information. Included in the documentation are also copies of all the former keepers making the car traceable right back to its first owner as well as service history and pastMoT test certificates. The car comes supplied with a V5c registration document and current MoT test certificate valid until 28thJune 2018.]]

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta was a family of cars built by Alfa Romeo from 1954 to 1965 which included a 2+2 coupe, a 4-door saloon, estate, spider, Sprint and Sprint Speciale. During its production run 177,690 Giuliettas were built before it was succeeded by the Giulia in 1962. The first example to be introduced was the Giulietta Sprint 2+2 Coupe that debuted at the 1954 Turin Motor Show. Designed by Franco Scaglione at Bertone, the car was produced at the coachbuilders Grugliasco plant near Turin. The following year the Sprint was joined by the 4-door saloon before the introduction of a two-seat Giulietta Spider featuring bodywork by Pininfarina. A facelifted version of the Berlina was produced in 1959; this featured a repositioned fuel pump and fuel door as well as a revised front end, recessed headlights, new grilles with chrome frames and two horizontal bars. This car is equipped with the 80bhp 1,290 cubic centimetre DOHC four-cylinder engine with a light alloy block and hemispherical cylinderhead. Power is transferred to the wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission, while hydraulic drum brakes and worm-and-sector were responsible for stopping and turning respectively. The car underwent restoration in the years prior to 2009, at which point the previous owner took ownership and put less than 1,000 miles on it following its full mechanical and body rebuild. Work carried out during the middle of 2017 included new door seals, new battery, installation of hand throttle and choke cables, replaced clutch release bearing, check and adjust ignition timing, geometry tuning, handbrake system overhaul, new brake master cylinder, new washer fluid bag, pump and cap, new inlet manifold gaskets and replaced fuel filter. All this to say that this example is one of the finest driving examples available anywhere today, one of Alfa Romeo's purest driving experiences!
