This particular 1971 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet enjoyed long-term enthusiast ownership for the last 30 years. It was owned by an East Coast collector for the past two decades, and before that, it was located on the West Coast with a collector for 10 years. This example is presented in wonderful condition after undergoing a no-expense-spared restoration to show quality by Road Scholars, of North Carolina. During the restoration, the engine was removed, the car was stripped to bare metal, and it received new paintwork, chrome, a new exhaust, and a new convertible top. The interior was completely reupholstered, and the car was fully detailed throughout, including the undercarriage and the engine bay. Finished in dark blue over a tobacco leather interior and currently showing 57,200 miles. The car retains a proper set of tools, a jack, and an owner's manual. When new, the 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet was considered by many to be the finest automobile in the world. Today, that belief remains true for manyMercedes-Benz enthusiasts. Its design is truly timeless and exhibits class and character all its own. This example would be the perfect acquisition for the individual looking for a sophisticated automobile that will never go out of style.

Introduced in 2000 at Paris International Motor Show the 550 Barchetta Pininfarina commemorated the 70th anniversary of Pininfarinas existence. Hugely in demand, the Barchetta production was limited to just 448 examples of which only 42 were constructed with Right Hand Drive. This car was first owned by long term Ferrari enthusiast, car collector and guitar legend, Eric Clapton before passing hands latterly to The Whos formidable writer and performer, Pete Townsend. A Rock Star car in many respects, the 550 model heralded a return to front engined Ferrari manufacture some 23 years after the last production front engined Ferrari, the 365 GTB4 Daytona. The 550 title derived from an engine displacement of 5.5 litres, the Barchettas V12 unit produces 478bhp and propels the car through its manual 6 speed transaxle, on to a top speed of 186 mph. Finished in classic Blu NART with Tan hides, this open car is equipped with a fitted Tonneau cover and removal canvas roof. Superb in all respects, the current condition of this rare RHD Barchetta is a tribute to its former keepers, whose careful use and attention to the car is evident. Supplied with original Ferrari book pack and service book, original tools and a comprehensive history file, we wonder which star will next claim ownership?

Codenamed W113, the encore to the Mercedes-Benz 190SL and 300SL was first introduced at the 1963 Frankfurt Auto Show as the 230SL. As neither the hairy-chested beast exemplified by the 300SL or the boulevard tourer of the 190SL, the new 230SL placed more of an emphasis on safety and comfort. It had the added distinction of the first Mercedes-Benz automobile to be fitted with an alternator as standard equipment. Off-the-shelf components included independent front and rear suspension and servo-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes, which helped to keep development and production costs within reason. Perhaps most appealing about the car was its unique styling. Clearly linked to earlier Stuttgart designs, it featured the broad front grille of the 300SL, albeit in a squared-up shape. As with its predecessors, it was available as a roadster, roadster/coupe, or pure coupe. Most distinctive was its roofline, the so called 'pagoda roof,' designed by Paul Bracq and Bela Barenyi. The upright rooflinecontained lots of glass area, with raised sides and a lower center panel instead of curving conventionally upwards toward the middle, la a Japanese pagoda. Production of 230SLs continued until the uprated 250SL made its debut at the 1967 Geneva show. Finally, Mercedes released the 280SL in early 1968. This car featured a number of significant changes, most notably an increased engine displacement to 2,778 cubic cm, with a bump in both torque and horsepower (to 180). Interiors were upgraded, along with a myriad of detail refinements. The final 280SL came off the assembly line in March 1971. A total of 23,885 were produced during the model run, making it the most popular of all the roadsters built to date. The LHD car we are delighted to offer is finished in the lovely Black over Black colour combination and sits today in excellent condition, showing just over 35,000 miles. This car has been extremely well cared for by its previous owners and presents the great opportunity to own one of the fastestappreciating Classic Cars on the market, in such a brilliant colourway.

With the introduction of the 550 Maranello in 1997, Ferrari returned to its custom of building front-engined V12 sports cars, reviving a style that had remained dormant since the demise of the 365GTB/4 'Daytona' in 1974. The 550 Maranello's 48-valve, 5.5-litre V12 developed 485bhp at 7,000rpm, some 100-or-so horsepower more than the Daytona's. Ferrari had discovered that providing optimum balance in a front-engined sports car necessitated the use of a rear transaxle, and the Maranello's came with six speeds. The 550 Barchetta was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 2000. The car was a true roadster with no real convertible top provided, while a temporary roof was provided by the factory, it was advised that the car was not to exceed 70mph. A total of 448 Barchettas were built, with all examples sporting carbon fibre backed racing seats as standard. This LHD example was delivered new in Blu Nart over Crema to Luxembourg via Winandy Freres. The car was also specified from new with Blu carpets, redbrake callipers, and Blu 4 point safety harnesses. The car presents exceptionally well, showing just 570 miles from new and benefits further from a major service and cambelt change last year. The opportunities to own such a well-cared for, low mileage 550 Barchetta are now few and far between, especially in such an incredible colour combination!
