1978 Mercedes 450 SL by Koenig. Wide Body Conversion. Pearlescent White with Red leather Recaro sports upholstery, a red hard top and grey soft top. Koenig Specials GmbH (known widely as Koenig) is a German tuning house based in Munich that specialised in modifications to European luxury cars but gained notability in the 1980s and 1990s for their performance modifications to Ferraris. Some of its most notable works included a twin-turbo Ferrari Testarossa (known as the Koenig Competition) that produced 1,000 bhp, a highly unusual output for cars at the time, as well as the 850 bhp Ferrari F50. Koenig also entered into automobile production with its road-going version of the Porsche 962 known as the Koenig C62, therefore becoming the first road-legal Group C-based car. Many of its cars have been featured in non-German mainstream publications such as Road & Track, Top Gear and Sports Car International. Car magazine described its Competition Evolution as the most famous modified supercar of the 1980s.This SL has been part of a private collection and seen very little use over the last three years. As with most of the Koenig-Specials body modifications it features the typical Ferrari Testarossa inspired air slits (which dont really let any air through though) and extremely wide rear end. This wide rear asked for big 15 BBS rims with tires sized 345/35. These were the widest available in those days. The car performed very well when we took it for photographs and the four exhaust pipes give a lovely V8 growl. A real head turner that will get admiration wherever it goes. This stunning Koenig conversion is a true Icon of the 1980s. Offered with a fresh MoT and with various bills and receipts this is perhaps the ultimate incarnation of the R107 SL. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. Finance can be arranged subject to status. Delivery can be arranged. Follow us on facebook. Like us on Instagram, of feel free to email or call us.

1978 MGB Roadster 1800cc. Manual with Overdrive. Inca Yellow with grey upholstery and a white hard top. This Roadster has been in a private collection for the last 18 years and has been dry stored during this time, the car was restored in 1987 and we have lots of invoices on file for the work carried out. The only reason the car was sold is because the owner is retiring to Spain. A current MOT runs through to April 2020 and most recently a new clutch, a new brake servo, discs and pads, master cylinder and slave cylinder have all been fitted. The car drives well with a good engine and gearbox and is a great starter classic and ideal way to join the classic car movement. MG's have a huge network of parts and service suppliers so keeping them on the road is not a worry. The paintwork is very sharp and the car has the original grey deckchair upholstery and also comes with a pair of early low back leather seats. The hard top is easily removed and a full black toneau cover can be used when the hard topis away. A fully tailored car cover remains with the car and comes complete with its own bag. Absolutely any inspection is welcome and viewing is highly recommended. All major debit cards accepted. Free Autosmart car care detailing pack. Free U.K Mainland delivery. Launched in 1961 with a comparatively weedy 948cc A-Series engine, the MG Midget was constantly revised over the next two decades, going through MkI, II and III stages before finally becoming the Midget 1500 in 1974. The main distinguishing features of the last model were Rostyle wheels, a more modern interior, a higher ride height and new rubber bumpers to improve crash performance for the all-important US market. To compensate for the car's added weight and to improve performance, a new 1500cc engine was now standard which gave the car a top speed just a whisker short of the magic ton. An immensely successful model, Midget production finally came to an end in December 1979 by which time over 2.2m had been sold, 73,900 of them in 1500 form. First registered in January 1978, this particular Midget 1500 has had just two owners since 1998 and really stands out from the crowd with both bumpers removed, a mesh front grille, subtle bodywork modifications and sporty bucket seats. An invoice on file shows that it was fully restored in 2002 by Classic & Custom Cars of Kidderminster, including a full body restoration and a repaint in Tartan Red, all the body mods being lead loaded. The fuel tank was also renewed along with all the exterior lamps and the door, boot and window rubbers. The engine was overhauled with many new parts including the water pump, radiator, fuel pump, timing chain and tensioner, propshaft etc. The braking system was also totally renewed and the suspension rebuilt with many parts replaced. The wheels were refurbished and fitted with new tyres and the interior retrimmed with new carpets, new Cobra sports seats trimmed in red and grey, new inertia reel seat belts and a new grey soft top and tonneau cover. Very little used since the restoration was completed, it remains in excellent condition throughout with an MOT until June 2019 with no advisories recorded. Supplied with a large history file and many photos documenting the restoration, it also comes with an indoor car cover and a Haynes workshop manual and will now qualify for free road tax and MOT exemption under the new rolling-40-year regulations. It also has a personalised and transferable registration number, VJI 5275, which is included in the sale.

1/300 Last Edition VW Beetles, the last cars to roll off the production line in Germany in 1978Showing just 81 miles, never registered, correctly dry-stored, and offered from a significant collectionJubilee Silver metallic paintwork, untouched Marine Blue velour trim. Unbelievably 'as new'Probably an unrepeatable opportunity to own a VW motoring icon presented in 'showroom' condition The Volkswagen Beetle enjoyed staggering success for many years, and in 1972 became the best selling car ever, with total production worldwide exceeding 15 million vehicles. However, by that time, the Beetle was starting to seem dated compared with much of the modern competition, and sales were flagging. In an attempt to maintain interest in the cars, VW produced numerous special edition models during the final years of European production. These included the Jeans Beetle, City Beetle, Sun Bug and Marathon Beetle, to give just a few examples. Despite all the special editions, with the Beetle now looking seriouslydated, sales continued to decline and the last European-built car left the production line in Emden, Germany on the 19th of January, 1978, immediately taking early retirement in the Wolfsburg Auto Museum. In 1978, to mark the occasion, the final run of 300 German-manufactured, right-hand drive Beetles were all finished in the very special Jubilee Silver, a colour unique to this batch and never used on any other model year. The vehicles were each equipped with a 1200cc engine (the most famous of all), blue-corded velour trim, a flat screen (as a nod to the past), heated rear window, fresh air blower and a handbrake dash light. Finally, a dash-mounted plaque states the vehicle's number in the sequence. Unfortunately, these seem to have been supplied to VW dealers separately from the cars, and quite a number of LEBs never received the plaques intended for them. This example was purchased by our vendor, who at the time owned a VW franchise, and the car has resided in his collection ever since and overthe years has only covered 81 miles. It has never been registered and can only be described as brand new. As such, the car will be offered recommissioned and ready to reside, no doubt, in another significant car collection.
