1931 Riley Alpine 14/6 Fabric Saloon The six cylinder Riley models first appeared in 1929, with the engine being essentially a Nine with two additional cylinders . Initially the models catalogued included the Deauville, Stelvio and Alpine - the latter being available in both tourer and saloon versions, with the earlier saloons having fabric coachwork. The new models attracted much attention, with Sir Malcolm Campbell being highly impressed by the performance which he considered the equal to many cars of 20hp. We are pleased to offer here a splendid example of the Alpine saloon with fabric coachwork, this car having been the subject of restoration to a very high standard which was completed around 8 years ago. This included a full re-trim in light blue/grey hide, whilst the engine was rebuilt by marque expert Keith Pointing. 6000 miles have been covered since completion and this Alpine is a true joy to drive, with that feeling of power in reserve and a smooth 6 cylinder exhaust note. The original London registration number remains on the car and all fittings and interior furnishings are correct. Only a small number of this model are recorded with The Riley Register so it will certainly appeal to those seeking a rare and distinctive sporting saloon from this era. With its elegant shape and twin rear windows - a popular Riley styling feature at this period, this is a motor car with considerable character. There is a large file of bills and information are included. For initial enquiries and to arrange an appointment to view, please call us on 01420-474919 or 07710-364945

1952 Healey Tickford Sports Saloon -Stunning Example The Donald Healey Motor Company was founded in 1945 in Warwick in a former aircraft components factory and was to produce high performance cars of exceptional quality. By 1948, their Elliot Saloon, with its striking aerodynamic coachwork, had become the fastest closed car in the World, having been timed at 104.7 mph over a mile. The power unit used in almost all Healey cars was the excellent Riley 2.5 litre engine, with additional tuning. The light, box section chassis permitted soft springing allied to exceptional road holding for a car of this class. The last saloon produced by Healey was the Tickford, of which some 222 were produced. This stylish and sleek model, with light aluminium coachwork was elegant from all angles and must surely rank as one of the best looking saloon cars of its period. The car we offer here has been in the current ownership for the past twenty years, during which time a considerable amount of money has been lavished upon it. It is worthy of close inspection and is sure to appeal to a connoisseur seeking a distinctive car with a difference. There are numerous invoices on file, together with many photographs, information on the model and a Workshop Manual for both the Healey and the Riley 2.5 Litre. Further files contain a selection of technical notes from the Association of Healey Owners, many previous MOT certificates and earlier V5 Registration Documents. A very rare opportunity to acquire a highly distinctive motor car in extremely good order. This car was also the subject of a scale model by Oxford Diecast. Purity is a fragile and vulnerable thing and in August 1996, the revolutionary new Lotus Elise seemed to ooze purity from every extruded anodised aluminium and epoxy resin crevice, with nothing superfluous subtracting from the essence of this truly minimalist, focused little sports car. Although 'beautiful to behold' it certainly was, the time-honoured relationship between 'form and function' was clearly evident in the way it went and handled with its lightweight chassis-tub at 731kg failing to daunt the enthusiasm of the mid-mounted, 1.8-litre K-series engine, and its 118bhp was enough for a 0-60mph time in the low sixes allied to decent pull in the higher ratios. Clothed in two-piece 'clamshell' fibreglass bodywork, the featherweight two-door also featured all round double-wishbone independent coil-over suspension, rack and pinion steering, four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, and a five-speed gearbox. Designer Julian Thomson and engineer Richard Rackham were keen to create a car with something of a motorcycles feel, and they undoubtedly succeeded, as is evident as much as in the aluminium-and-rubber interior and neat little Stack instrument panel, as in the car's dynamic intimacy with the road, the wind, and the weather. The Elise was a reaction to the corpulent world of leather, luxury, and levers becoming increasingly evident in Lotus road cars, and was an attempt to recreate Colin Chapmans early principles before he abandoned them in a move upmarket. The early cars were followed in 2002 by the Series 2 and any number of special models with various engine options and greater levels of creature comfort and they're all great, but the simpler, more demure Series 1 still defines the breed. The 1997 Lotus Elise S1 (series 1) offered here was supplied new by Bell & Colvill. It has covered a mere 1,633 miles from new and is one of the very early lightweight series cars which featured composite brake discs and an aluminium engine cover in the quest for the lowest possible kerb weight. It presents superbly in 'Racing Green Metallic' with Magnolia hide and is fitted with a 'Momo' steering wheel, built in driving lights, and Perspex headlamp covers. It is virtually immaculate and presents exactly as you would expect at this mileage. Surely the finest example you will find anywhere in one of the best colour schemes! Already a "classic" and beginning to appreciate, the Elise Series 1 is certain to be a smart investment for years to come.

1964 Austin-Healey 3000 Mklll - original UK example, just 71,000 miles from new The successor to the 100/6, the Austin Healey 3000 was announced on 1st July 1959. The increased power brought the need for better braking so front discs were now standardised. The new model was also praised for its improved performance, with 0 - 60 mph now being accomplished in 11 seconds and top speed was now 112 mph. The 3000 was gradually updated and improved over the years, with the Mklll version arriving in February 1964, featuring power assisted braking, larger carburettors and a revised fascia. The Mklll was to continue in production until the end of 1967. As with all British sports cars of this period, a substantial number were exported, especially to North America. The 1964 example presented here for sale is an original RHD home market car. The Heritage Certificate supplied shows the car to have been built in August that year and despatched to Austin main dealer Car Mart Ltd of London. The specification included wire wheels, adjustable steering column, heater, laminated screen, overdrive and Dunlop Road Speed tyres. It would appear that there have only been four owners and there are bills on file dating back to 1970. The recorded mileage now stands at just over 71,000 and the car is in very original order, but would benefit from some slight cosmetic attention in some areas. An opportunity to acquire one of these most charismatic motor cars for a comparatively modest sum. New photographs will be updated shortly! 1933 Riley Nine Lynx (disappearing hood model) This example of the sought after disappearing-hood Lynx Nine has been known to us for some years. It spent some 30 years in Holland, where it underwent extensive restoration, before returning to the UK during 2010 and being reunited with its original Surrey registration number. It has been enjoyed and used on various events by its enthusiastic owners, including participating in the Fougere Rally a few years ago and has proved very reliable. The weather equipment is in serviceable order, with the sidescreens having been recently renewed whilst the interior trim, in brown leather, is also in good condition. The car has the Special Series engine with twin SU carbs, and an electric cooling fan has been fitted, for peace of mind during Summer weather, while flashing indicators ensure added safety in modern traffic. She has just recently undergone extensive work by marque specialists which has included a gearbox rebuild and resetting of rear springs, and a full engine tune and replacement of the oil pump. Some electrical remedial work has also just been carried out including fitment of a reconditioned starter motor. In all, a most attractive Lynx which is sure to provide much enjoyment to its new custodian. Included in the file of paperwork are photos of the car in Holland, information from previous owners and a copy of a magazine article regarding the Riley Nine. Also supplied is a copy of the Maintenance Manual. For more information please call us on 07710-364945 or 01420-474919. Viewing strictly by prior appointment please. Delivery can be arranged
