Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1910 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Rois-Des-Belges style tourer by Cadogan For Sale. Registration no: M-766 Chassis no: 1192 Launched at Olympia in 1906, Henry Royces masterpiece, the new six-cylinder, 40/50hp Rolls-Royce, was in a class of its own and Royces engineering genius combined with the selling charms of the Hon. Charles Stewart Rolls and the business flair of Claude Johnson ensured that the world soon recognised the new model as "The Best Car in the World". The history of the 40/50hp car, soon to be colloquially referred to as The Silver Ghost, is well chronicled, production continuing in the U.K. until 1925 and, remarkably, no fewer than 6,173 chassis were built in the U.K. with a further 1,703 erected at the Springfield Factory in the U.S.A. Chassis number 1192 is one of an exceptionally small number of pre-1910, parallel-bonnet Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost cars surviving, the official test date being 09:12:09. 1192 was ordered in September 1909 by Mr Munn who was the engineering superintendent of the Union Castle Line. He was a great motoring enthusiast and won the RAC National Challenge to find the car that would travel at the slowest speed without touching any of the controls and without stopping. 1192 was also the winner of the Stockbridge Hill Climb in 1914. After Mr Munn died in the post-Great War flu epidemic the car was sold to Mr Scott-Paine who was the Solent Speedboat champion for several years. 1192 travelled to India in the 1920s and returned to the UK in the early 60s, purchased by Alan Hancock. Mr Hancock spent many years having 1192 completely restored and fitted with the current Rois Des Belges Coachwork, which is believed to be only the second body, fitted to the chassis. After the restoration was completed 1192 was shown and used for various rallies including an Alpine Trial. In recent years she has been laid up with seldom use. Upon arrival, with the correct priming procedure, she instantly came to life and drove some 30 miles without any issues; in fact the engine became smoother mile by mile. Subsequently we delivered her to Lee Kenworthy of Kenworthy and Co for a service and tune. The coachwork is magnificent and truly elegant, a Rois-Des-Belges style tourer with a high flared rear. To the rear there is also a pair of occasional seats with 2 different location points, allowing for all sorts of seating configurations and up to 5 passengers in the rear. The Bulkhead holds an array of period brass instruments including, Elliot speedometer and rev counter, oil pressure gauge, amp meter, Motor Aneroid and 8 day clock. There are wooden running boards joining both wings and housing storage boxes. There is also storage space to the rear in the trunk, and beneath the drivers seat. The paintwork is finished is true Edwardian style; Green and Black horizontal stripes to the body, a red coach line highlighting all of the body, wing and wheel lines. The bonnet also has an elegant 8-piece rectangular pattern, which is finished in red with a blue outline, all of these features combined with the brass fittings result in a truly remarkable look. The Ferrari 288 GTO is one of the most famous and recognisable prancing horses ever made and the first in the line of 'special series' production cars. Created as a homologation version of a 308 GTB, the 288 was reportedly produced for Ferrari to compete in Group B racing, with only 272 examples being made from 1984-1986. However, Group B was scrapped and the GTO was never to compete. All 272 examples produced remained as purely road cars and all were finished in Rosso Corsa from factory, except for one example which was Black. Despite never racing, the car that was left behind is still one of the most remarkable looking and iconic road cars ever produced. The 288 GTO is powered by a longitudinally mounted 2.9-litre twin turbocharged V8, pushing out around 400bhp, enough to accelerate the car from 0-60 mph in 5 seconds flat and on to a top speed of 189 mph, making it one of the fastest road-legal cars of its era. The 288 also received a 5-speed racing transmission, a wider track and wheels, and alightweight body comprised of aluminium and fiberglass. With just 272 examples produced during its 2 year period, the 288 GTO is the rarest of the hailed 'Ferrari Big 5', with the cars that followed, the F40, F50, Enzo, and La Ferrari all being made to higher production numbers. The car we are delighted to offer was delivered new in July 1985 to France via concessionaire Ferrari West Europe Levallois Perret. It was supplied in the iconic Rosso Corsa over Nero Leather colourway, which it still wears today. The car was a 1 owner car right up until 2015 when it was purchased by a well-known U.K. collector and was placed into storage to form part of his collection, covering just 300km since. The 1st owner of this example was the owner of the Monaco Ferrari dealership and as a result the car has lived a no-expense spared life, with all service stamps coming from official Ferrari main dealer service centres. The car maintains its original tool kits, spare wheel, user manual, as well as its originalservice booklet. This 288 GTO presents incredibly well and is showing just over 9,000 miles from new. The car was also awarded with red book Classiche Certification in 2015, confirming its originality and quality. This car offers the rare opportunity to obtain a fantastic, low mileage example of arguably one of the most important and sought after Ferraris ever built!

Vintage and Prestige are proud to offer this 1903 Thornycroft 20HP 4 Cylinder Double Phaeton For Sale. Registration: AA 575 Chassis no: BZ 14 Engine no: BZ 14 This incredible motor car comes to us with the finest of histories having been owned by Mr Tom Thornycroft (one of the companies founders) up until 1957, and has had only 4 owners from new! Mr John Brown purchased the car in 1957, he then sold the car to Mr John Carter but must have missed this incredible machine dearly as he purchased her back. The current owners have been the custodians since 1987 and can be credited for the immaculate condition you see her in today. They have kindly sent a detailed list of the work carried out under their ownership: Full nut and bolt restoration, including full stripping of body from chassis Engine and gearbox removed. Engine fully stripped. All parts crack tested. Crankshaft reground. New white metal bearings made for big ends and mains. Cylinder blocks re-bored and new pistons manufactured. New primary gears manufactured for distributor drive. Inlet induction valves reconditioned. Carburettor overhauled. Clutch fully reconditioned (fluid type) including new drive plates. Gearbox stripped and where applicable new gears manufactured, new type oil seals fitted and all new bearings. Propshaft remanufactured to include stronger U couplings. Rear axle stripped and new bearing fitted including new type seals. New outboard brake shoes manufactured to increase stopping aid. Rear springs re-tensioned with extra leaf fitted. Suspension stops introduced to balance rear. Water coolant tank restored and fitted to chassis under rear floor, special cover with tool for access added. Side steps and floorboards recovered. All body work stripped and where necessary woodwork replaced. All leather replaced with Connolly. Body fully prepped and painted including hand coachlines. Wheels fully restored, painted and lined. Rear storage case added to rear with retaining brackets. All lamps re finished. A starter motor has been manufactured solely for this vehicle, and is operated by a discreet switch. Fully enclosed side screen system made. This Thornycroft has been maintained perfectly and has a 100% completion record for the London to Brighton Classic Car Run. The appearance of this beautiful brass car truly does take some beating, every part of the car has its own character or flare, it would certainly be a challenge to improve the look. The paintwork is finished to an extremely high standard in red; there is a yellow coachline all around the car, which helps to highlight the shape of this Double Phaeton Coachwork. The rear section of the coachwork is completely original to the car and like so many was taken off in winter months and stored, the front section has been rebuilt to the exact original design to restore her to the former glory. The closer you look the more detail you notice; the Thornycroft step plates, the discreet spare wheel, the 5 stage rear wings, it goes on and on. The look with the pram hood up is exceptional and easily operated by one person. There is also a side screen system that completely encloses the car and allows for almost dry motoring. The Connolly leather is buttoned to the backs and finished to the highest of standards, this certainly is a driveable car but finished to a concours standard! Once you finish looking around the exterior details, you finally get to the engine. 2.5 litres, 4 cylinders and 3 gears, this is a capable car. Having completed the Brighton run on many occasions with 6 people on board, you can gently breeze past the lesser cylinder cars (no names mentioned) who are all jumping out to push on Burgess hill. The operation is simple, a tickle of the carburettor, a flick of the ignition system and she is ready to go; in the early morning when you are full of energy you can turn her over on the handle and feel her fire up straight away, however later in the day when you are feeling slightly more lethargic, a discreet finger on the hidden button will bring her to life instantly and you will not even here the starter working. This vehicle truly is an incredible is a piece of driveable history, in our showroom and ready for viewing. Following from the success of the F40, celebrating the 40th anniversary of Enzo Ferrari's first car, Ferrari decided to honour the 50th anniversary with another extremely special model, the F50. However, rather than produce around 1,300 units (as with the F40), for the F50 production would be strictly limited to 349 numbered cars. Although the F50 can be seen as a successor to the incredibly successful F40, the stark contrast between the two cars is instantly recognisable. The main difference can be seen in the power unit of the F50; a 4.7-litre naturally aspirated F1 derived V12, producing in excess of 500 bhp. Luca Di Montezemolo wanted to create a road car that could offer the most 'F1 like' experience on the road, meaning that with its carbon tub and six-speed longitudinal gearbox, the F50 clearly shows its F1 roots. The example we are offering was delivered new to France via Charles Pozzi in 1996. The car was brought to the U.K. in 2013 and maintains its original luggage, flight case, hardtop, and original books. It is finished in the iconic colourway of Rosso Corsa over Nero seats with Rosso inserts. The car is matching numbers and has been awarded Red Book Classiche Certification from Ferrari, exemplifying its originality and excellence. The car is showing under 14,000 miles and sits today in brilliant condition, with the carbon weave clearly visible through the paint!

This particular DB4 Series 2 is on the market with the previous owner, Mr D Banton, having bought the car in December of 1976 and has just undergone a complete restoration through ourselves. DB4/449/R was first registered on the 17th November 1960 where it was sold to a Mrs N Cotton of Bournemouth, then sold to a Mr S Dicks of London in 1965, whereupon it was sold to Mr Richard Butt of Grays who subsequently sold it to his brother, a Mr (Roger) Butt who kept the car until 1976. Mr D Banton used the car regularly in and around London and perhaps more fitting for a car of this style, slightly further afield with trips across Europe to the French Alps for skiing holidays. In 1983 Mr D Banton sent the car for a full bare metal respray, keeping the original colour of Dubonnet Red. Other work includes receipts in the history file dating back to 1976 with hand written invoices from Ian Moss, Aston Martin specialists. Further maintenance was carried out in the late 70's with bills from Aston Martin andAston specialist Hyde Vale and later in 1996 with Ian Moss once again. Also in the history file is a copy of the buff log book, handbook and a copy of the original invoice from 1960. The DB4 was a true sports car to the DB5's Sports GT, and the values are continuing to increase in line with all classic Aston values. The Series 2 cars had some minor modifications over the original design including a front hinged bonnet (rather than the 'crocodile' bonnet of the Series 1), uprated front calipers and oil pump and an enlarged sump. Fresh from a full nut and bolt restoration, the car has had a full bare metal respray in Silver Birch, finished with black leather interior. Oselli have rebuilt the engine to 4.2 litre specification with unleaded fuel conversion, whilst lightening and balancing the engine and fitting Cosworth forged pistons. The 4 speed David Brown gearbox has been rebuilt and overdrive fitted. Electric power steering has been retrofitted, in addition to a heated rear windscreen, electronicclock, electric aerial and retro-look radio with iPod connection. It has new wire wheels with period correct Avon Turbosteel tyres, and a larger anti-roll bar to improve cornering and lessen body roll. The car has also had an oil cooler and Kenlowe electric fan installed. A fantastic opportunity to obtain one of the very best Series 2 DB4s on the market today.
