The engine is made up from a Dart block, Scat crank and rods, JE pistons, custom roller cam, AFR 210cc heads, Victor Jnr intake and lastly a 925cfm Pro Systems carbie. Helping to get all that power to the ground is a four speed Top Loader and a Jaguar Tru Trac rear end. Stopping power is taken care of by Jaguar discs all round. It was originally built as a Grabber Blue Mach 1 and was fitted with a 4V 351 Cleveland, 4 speed Top Loader and a 9 diff. It also came with Deluxe interior, air conditioning, power steering with power disc brakes. The car has had 4 owners since it first came into Australia in 1974 and has at some time been converted to right hand drive. Now fitted with a mammoth 429 big block built by Track & Mansweto Racing using factory mounts as per the 429 option cars. The engine has Edelbrock aluminium heads and performer manifold with headers running into a 2 ¼ twin system. Hydraulic roller lifters with roller rockers, Crane mild cam, Holley Sniper fuel injection, Accel distributor with MSD blaster coil. Aussie Dessert Cooler radiator with twin thermos fans. The Top Loader was rebuilt approximately 3,000 kms ago with new bearings, synchro rings and a new second gear installed. At the same time as trans rebuild the 9 diff was fitted with a rebuilt limited slip centre with 3.00 1.00 gears. Upgrades to the suspension to cross drilled and slotted items with Yellow Stuff performance brake pads. Fitted with RRS coil over suspension and rear springs are reverse eye 2 lowering springs. Upgraded 1 1/8 front sway bar and 7/8 fitted to the rear. Wheels are 17 Foose Nitrous with rear tyres 275/40/ZR17 and fronts 245/45/ZR17. The interior was fitted with a full reproduction interior kit including front seat foam and carpets in 2005. A complete digital dash kit from Dakota Digital has also been fitted along with a Dakota Digital cruise control system. Built in April of 2016 and purchased from Biti Motors in Culcairn NSW. Finished in beautiful Victory Gold with all the exclusive Sprint extras such as badging, striping, rear spoiler, and original Sprint wheels. Sporting the famous 5.0 litre Coyote Supercharged Ford engine that pumps out 345 kilowatts which is 462 horsepower in standard form and with 400 kilowatts and 535 horsepower with overboost which will slingshot this Sprint from 0-100 in approximately 4.5 seconds and 12.6 in the standing quarter!! Only 750 examples only ever produced in the Sprint model and this car is build number 106. Of the 750 XR8 Sprints made 51 were produced in Victory Gold Metallic. When first released the GTS model was as good as it got with its newly developed 215 5.7 litre V8 Holden engine. This car starting its life as a Berlina but now wearing a host of genuine GTS parts. The body kit, wheels and interior are all genuine GTS parts making this Commodore look as close to the genuine article as possible. Cosmetically the only variation is the owners choice to add VS style GTS stickers to the car as opposed to the VR GTS stickers. The car has recently been resprayed and looks fantastic. As mentioned inside consists of genuine VR GTS interior. The stereo system has been upgraded with aftermarket items. The car has only travelled just over 113,000 kilometres which is below average for a car of its age. Powering the car is a stroked 333 cube Holden V8. This car sounds and goes as good as it looks. While a genuine GTS would be a six-speed manual this car has been fitted with a five-speed manual. An Aussie legend on two and four wheels. Wayne Gardners career highlights include no less than 18 Grand Prix wins from a decade long partnership with Honda, along with becoming the first Australian to take the coveted 500ccMotorcycle World Championship title. Following his retirement from front line motorcycle racing at the end of 1992, Gardner made a much publicised switch to touring cars. This in turn led to Gardners foray into the world of road cars, in the form of the Wayne Gardner Racing Road Divisions Group A Commodore. Sensing a gap in the market between the increasingly expensive HSV products and the regular Commodore line up,. Gardners outfit planned to offer a wide range of engine, suspension and bodywork modifications at relatively affordable prices. Tapping into the expertise available via his racing team WGR upgrades included a cold-air induction system re-profiled camshaft, revised computer settings, intake and exhaust mods to increase power to 195kW. Based on the contemporary VR/VSCommodore with its slippery aero styling, WGRs GroupA body package was the work of Sydney design studio Talon which included a deep front spoiler with integrated driving lights, side skirts and a boot mounted rear wing complete with carbon-fiber end plates. The choice of wheels was the 18inch 5spoke alloy MOMO wheel complemented by the custom Recaro interior supplied by Autotek other cosmetic touches included a MOMO steering wheel with a carbon-fibre centre console. The main objective for WGR vehicles were to build them with quality tailored for customer requirements. WGR production vehicles that were built had a unique build number although exact production figures remain unknown. This particular example is totally original which comes with all documentation logbooks and service history. The vehicle presents in great condition throughout with minimum wear and tear only traveled just over 89,000km This rare classic is a must for any Holden collector or car enthusiast.
