First registered 4th May 1962, 330 DYO is an original home market UK car. Abingdon built 5096 of these BT7s throughout 1961/62, of which less than 1000 were sold in the UK, making it one of the rarest Austin Healey models. Originally Healey blue, this model has the Tri-Carb engine, central gear change, plain dashboard, and side screens. It was ordered with a heater, wire wheels, overdrive and factory hardtop all of which were extras at the time. This original UK car is matching numbers and supplied with a detailed history and receipts file. The original chassis, body and engine plates remain on the car. The car has never been fully rebuilt and maintains its 60s feel and patina. First owner William Chilton of High Wycombe kept the car for 7 years and covered 12, 671 miles. Second owner registered the car in the name of his furniture company, Antocks Lairn and covered about 15,000 miles in his one year of ownership. The third owner, Oliver Chappele, his brother in law, kept the car 2 years and covered 1,500 miles. The current owner purchased the car from Oliver Chapelle on September 26th 1971 when it had covered just 29,557 miles. After using the car for 7 years, The owner stored the car for 28 years and started using it again in 2006. The Healey has now covered a genuine 52,000 miles only, supported by the following previous owner documents and MOT certificates. The original engine was rebuilt 2 years ago by, race specialists, Classic and Modern Engines, Bracknell. A Dennis Welch alloy head, alloy sump with baffle plate, and backplate were fitted, together new oil and water pumps, reground camshaft with BJ8 profiles, with the head gas flowed and all components balanced before and during assembly. The radiator was re-cored and a Revotec electric fan fitted. New 1 ¾ SU carbs replace the standard 1 ½ inch, giving a 36% increase in volume but looking the same. SU electronic fuel pump fitted. The distributor was rebuilt by the Distributor Doctor in 2015 and is still fitted with points. A complete, rear exit, Dennis Welch exhaust is fitted. The result is a very smooth, strong engine, with power from 1,000 rpm and good torque in the crucial mid speed range from 1,000 to 4,000 rpm, which will provide good power up to 6,000 rpm if required. A 30% power increase was achieved over the standard engine. The engine was re-installed in October 2016. Gearbox and overdrive units dismantled and rebuilt with new components as required, including a full set of new sychro cones in 2015. Both front and rear axles have been rebuilt with new bearings and oil seals, in 2015. Front disks fitted with Green Stuff pads. New oil seals on the rear axle and differential nose. Rear brake shoes relined.New servo fitted Sept. 2015 Poly bushes have been installed in the rebuilt front suspension. Rebuilt Dennis Welch dampers fitted all round. 72 spoke wheels have been fitted to replace the original 48 spokes. These have been fitted with new Vredestein 185 HR 15 91H tyres in 2018. A new, traditional, wiring loom, was fitted in 2006, incorporating wiring for the electric fan, ammeter, hazard warning lights, and a power socket under the dashboard. The dynamo and starter motor were rebuilt by a Lucas specialist in 2016. New high intensity headlights give a strong beam but look original. The chassis underside and box sections have received the full Dinitrol wax oil treatment for future anti corrosion measures. The bodywork was resprayed in 2018 by Restoration and Refinishing Specialists of Honiton. The interior is original, and in superb condition for its age. With navy blue leather seats with white piping. New, navy blue, carpets were custom made for the car and heat insulation was fitted under the carpets and on the gearbox tunnel in 2017. A new dark blue tonneau cover was custom made in 2017, giving full protection with or without the side screens in place. The hood is for the car is the original, still in good condition. This has rarely been used with the current owner preferring the use and look of the original hardtop. An extra instrument panel sits under the heater controls, giving engine oil temperature and charging amps. A smaller 16-inch wood rim steering wheel was fitted early in the current owners ownership, to give a sharper feel to the steering and provide extra space for long legs. A period ASM luggage rack is fitted, with the correct fixings. The current owner has cherished this Healey for 47 years, with a verified total mileage of 52,000. Fully serviced and inspected by ourselves at JME Healeys, this car needs to be driven to fully appreciate its ride quality, performance and refinement. This really is a high-quality example and should be driven and enjoyed. Finding a better driving 3000 MKII will be difficult. The power upgraded engine pulls superbly. The rebuilt four-speed gearbox changes up and down smoothly and the overdrive operates correctly. With responsive brakes, positive steering, smooth suspension ride, it's certainly one of the best driving MKII 3000's seen through our doors. Ideal for touring or shows, this desirable and beautiful 1962 3000 MkII BT7 is offered for sale with UK V5C Registration Document, Heritage Certificate and 12 months MOT certificate from the date of sale and full weather equipment to include hood, tonneau, sidescreens and original hardtop. 1960 Austin Healey Works Rally Car URX 727 The ex-Works, Moss/Wisdom, 1960 Liege-Rome-Liege winning car URX 727 is the legendary ex-works, Pat Moss, 1960 Liege-Rome-Liege rally winning Austin Healey and undoubtably the most famous Healey of them all. International Rally Results: 1960 Tulip Rally Pat Moss - 8th Overall - 1st in Class - Ladies 1960 Alpine Rally Pat Moss - 2nd Overall - 1st in Class - Ladies 1960 Liege-Rome-Liege - ****Pat Moss - ****WINNER OVERALL - ****1st in Class Ladies 1960 German Rally - Pat Moss - 16th Overall - 3rd in Class To this day, Pat Mosss win on the Liege-Rome-Liege remains one of the greatest female sporting achievements. Pat was unquestionably the fastest lady rally driver of all time. Her performances with the big Healey when she regularly beat the other male members of the team were sensational. From 23 events in the Big Healeys she gained 11 class wins, 14 Ladies awards, two European Ladies Championships, that remarkable Liege win in 1960 and runner up in the Alpine Rally in the same year. Pat was the first person to win an International Rally for BMC in the Liege Rome Liege Rally in 1960 and also the first person to win an International Rally in a Mini Cooper in 1962 in the Tulip Rally. At the end of its rallying career, URX 727 was purchased from the Works department by Pat Moss in 1961. Pat and her husband Eric Carlsson entered the car as a private entry in the 1961 Mille Miglia which had become a rally. For reasons unknown, the car did not start the event. Pat and Eric turned the journey into a Holiday before returning to the UK. A year later, Pats other commitments took priority so asked John Sprinzel to find a buyer for the car. David Friswell became the new owner in 1962. URX727 has remained with the current (11th) owner since 2004, who commissioned JME Healeys to restore the car in every possible detail to exactly as she appeared during the famous 1960 Liege-Rome-Liege victory. Soon after the restoration was completed in 2005 URX was privately shown to a famous select group of 20 people who were involved in the amazing Liege win in 1960. The car is in near concourse condition having been restored and maintained by JME Healeys. Along with the purchase of the vehicle comes an incredible collection of Pat Moss, Ann Wisdom and URX 727 history and memorabilia as collected by the owner over the last 14 years.
